You WILL experience bad service-if not now, in the future for sure!

I can completely understand why a number of people have left very positive reviews about 888 reptiles. I have used the company for a number of years and always received satisfactory service-they weren't the quickest with delivery but everything was generally ok. That was until I encountered a small problem. I ordered a bulb for my viv which turned out to be faulty (we all know this can happen). So I called the company and was emailed a returns label for the bulb. I posted it back in AUGUST, it's now almost FEBRUARY...absolutely no sign of either a replacement bulb or my money! To make the situation worse, they no longer answer calls or emails (great customer service)! Having read other reviews this seems their standard approach whenever an issue is raised. Please avoid this company-there are so many more genuine businesses out there. (I use Northampton Reptile Centre now-fantastic!)

ordered a pack of 5 rats

ordered a pack of 5 rats, a heat mat, some sphagnum moss and a heat guard the moss and guard arrived ok but the rats were totally thawed and the heat mat was missing, I put it down to being over Xmas they were delayed with the courier but I have been trying to contact hem constantly ever since with no reply to calls their text number or emails shame i used to use them years ago and found them great at the time but never again

After reading the reviews had to tell you of my experience.
Ordered a chameleon,waited and waited but no response so rang them and got told that they were too young to send out,this was 2 months after the order was placed. Every few weeks would ring them and get told it wasn’t big enough or something else.
Eventually got told it had been sent out and would be delivered next day,waited and waited and about 4pm I phoned them to see how much longer it would be,assured it was still on the way,about 5pm rang again only to get the message it was closed,next day kept ringing and ringing,eventually got answered,was told traffic had been bad and driver had to turn back over wise would be over the drive time limit so I asked when could I expect to receive it and got told there was none in stock!!!!
Tried again and again,emailing and ringing but could never get a reply,went on a couple more months then did get an answer to a phone call,asked for refund and was told it would be done straight away,never got it and went back to phone not answering nor responding to emails,in the end I just kept pressing redial on the phone til someone answered,again was told the refund would be done but this time I said I would wait on the line until the money had gone through.
This went on for around six months and wouldn’t go near them again,dread to think how much the phone calls cost

Avoid like the plague - 888 Reptiles aka Daventry Comedy Club

Absolutely useless company. I made an order for 11 items and chose express delivery (1-3 working days). On the third day I had to call only to be told some of the items I ordered were out of stock. If this was the case why was I allowed to add them to my basket? Why did 888 not contact me? Anyway, I asked for the items they did have in stock to be sent to me. They finally sent me 5 of my items two weeks after my order was placed. After countless emails trying to find out when I can expect the rest of my order, which they never reply to, I finally had to raise a dispute with PayPal. Amazingly 888 finally responded! They offered me a partial refund, but not for the delivery fee, so I refused obviously. They then agreed to refund the delivery costs also which I accepted. Now they have gone quiet again. PayPal say they will try to resolve the dispute within 30 days. No doubt 888 will sit on the refund until the last minute.
Needless to say I will never order anything through this joke of a company again. Whilst they do have good prices for certain F10 products I suggest you only order through them if you don't mind waiting indefinitely for it to be delivered and you don't mind being continuously ignored. I made the mistake of reading the reviews but not heeding them. For the sake of a few quid go through a good company. Try Blue Lizard, Internet Reptile, or better still Amazon (if it's sold and dispatched by them).
Ignore this review at your own risk.

*Update 20/05/16

Following my last review I tried today to contact 888 Reptiles regarding my refund. I sent 5 emails, no response. An automatic reply is sent stating 'If your email is of a more urgent nature or regarding an order you have placed with us please call us on 01327 262 888 and we will gladly help'.
Their 'customer service' line is apparently open from 11am to 3pm. I called them between 1.32pm and 3.14pm 184 times! Not answered once. Are you seriously thinking of ordering from these guys?!

Still no reply from 888. Still no refund. They are nothing but a bunch of crooks. It seems I will have to report them for theft. I have submitted a report to Trading Standards and to Action Fraud.

Still no response from 888 Criminals. I had to get my bank to do a chargeback to get my money back. After contacting Citizens Advice Consumer Helpline 888 Reptiles have now been reported to Trading Standards. I will be continuing my case against them as it's the least these bunch of crooks deserve. They truly are the most pathetic excuse for a company I have ever come across. Maybe 100 emails without reply. More than 200 phone calls without answer. Ordering anything through them would be the biggest mistake you'll ever make. Trust me.
Use Internet Reptile, Online Reptile Shop or Blue Lizard. The price difference, if any, will be absolutely minimal. And you will actually receive what you ordered!

DO NOT ORDER ANYTHING FROM THEM!

Truly Shocking!!

Customer services are so bad it's untrue! Raise an issue or complain about it and they close your account! Exchange rates are ugly! Avoid at all costs!!

bad customer experience

Website looks good and prices keen, unfortunately that's where it stopped after first and last order. Unable to deliver frozen food two weeks after ordering as they continuously ran out of stock despite being told new stock was coming in. No response from email and phone

Do not give a damn

I ordered a glass and wooden viv from these guys a few months back...of course I should know better than to order something like that online, but that's besides the point. The viv arrived with broken glass so I contacted them for a replacement, which they said they would send out right away, and I could give the damaged one back to courier. So far so good. They replied to my issue within minutes and it seemed they were on top of it. A week passed, then two, then more. I tried ringing the shop and emailing and filling in the contact form on the site, nothing. I have never heard from them since. I raised the transaction with paypal, they never bothered to respond to it at all. Why even bother replying if you're not going to do what you say you are going to? Can't imagine the drama if I had ordered a live reptile from them. Avoid! InternetReptile and BlueLizardReptiles all have vastly superior service and quick delivery, I can thoroughly recommend them both.

Rogue traders - don't go anywhere near this company!

I can only assume the other positive reviews on this company are from employees or friends/family. It would appear some items on their website they do not stock but still let you order, take your money and then never give you a refund! Ordered an item nearly a month ago, didn't hear anything for weeks. I chase them to be told they have tried contacting me (rubbish as no missed calls or emails) and that would get refund. A couple of emails and phone calls later still no refund. It only takes a minute or two to give a refund via PayPal but they will give you every excuse under the sun; its always someone else's problem whose not available at that time and they will sort it. Never call back when they say they will. Having to try to claim back through PayPal as once this company have your cash, you will never see it or any goods again. Avoid like the plague unless you don't mind donating your hard earned money to a company for nothing!

As bad as they get

Good luck getting your money back from this lot.Item was not in stock. after 3 weeks and several phone calls i got sick of their excuses and opened a paypal dispute and paypal refunded my money.

Never let me down yet!

I ordered many this with 888 Reptiles and never have they let me down. The way the products are packaged looks like someone made an extra effort to keep items safe, the heat bulbs are always checked as you see them dated and signed inside the boxes. If you are unhappy with a certain courier like UK Mail, they change it for you to suit your needs at no extra charge. The staff have been very helpful and always polite. They are always there to give advice to any concerns you may have. I highly recommend 888 Reptiles to anyone who is a pet owner and to check out the other pets section too!

Never recieved goods or any contact

Do not use this company, both 888pets and 888reptiles are not reliable sellers. Item never arrived and I had to make a claim with Paypal because the seller would not respond to any of my calls or emails and they couldn't even be bothered to respond to Paypal regarding the claim. I was very lucky I had paid through Paypal otherwise they would have had an unexpected visit from me!

Poor Service

I have used this Company (888Reptile) and have had to lodge a complaint with Mastercard and have been advised by the Trading Standards Office under the Distance Selling regulations. They will not refund money taken from my account and as regards one of the staff (Sally) I can only say is rude and with a very poor attitude.
They failed to deliver the goods, insisted they had tried to call me however our call log shows NO calls from them and now will not refund money paid.

There are a lot of GOOD Reptile suppliers on the internet, 888 Reptile are not one of them.
