We built it with small nonprofits in mind, based on personal experience and using best practices in the industry. As parent volunteers on a school PTA board we were faced with a difficult and unintuitive process of filing taxes for our nonprofit organization. IRS Form 990, even if it is 990-EZ, was intimidating, and the tools supposed to help you file both federal and state forms left a lot to be desired. As engineers with a wealth of experience in building world-class products, we decided that we can do better, and put a team together to build a tax filing service for non-profits that will be easy to use and save time for volunteers and money for nonprofits. The result of this work is 990.tax – built with non-profit volunteers in mind.
