Canberra based RePL
I completed the inaugural Canberra based RePL course in March 2020. Mark and Richard did a great job to share their knowledge and skills which allowed me the opportunity to pass the course. I would recommend AAA to anyone wishing to obtain their RePL.

Drone Licence on-line
I used ACE's study on line method of completing mt drone pilot licence.
The information available online was generally sufficient to pass the exam with reasonable study, but I'm sure a higher pass would have been achieved if I had attended the classroom courses.
The cost of the online course was considerably less than the classroom version, however a $300 voucher to purchase drones or accessories was somehow not available to me, even though it said it was.
ACE allowed me convenient times to sit the exams which was really appreciated

Better Communication = Better Results
We chose Ace Aviation due to the close proximity to our office and the fact their prices were quite competitive to other courses we looked at. However, the structure of the course and the communication between students, admin and the trainer were a bit poor.
Myself and another team member from our real estate marketing company were not given any form of communication to complete all 8 modules before attending the first class.
On a side note, our class was condensed to only 2 days from 3 days as some students needed to reschedule, which meant we had to compress more flight time and knowledge into a smaller & tighter timeframe.
Upon attending the first days class, the trainer - David, was surprised and concerned to know we hadn't read any course material before the course. We advised him we were not told we had to and assumed all the modules would be covered in a classroom environment before actually flying any drones.
After flying for most of the first day, we then retired to the classroom for some theory work and the first of two tests.
Our tests results were only just passable. I feel the trainer was a bit lenient on us to make up for the lack of knowledge prior to the course.
Second day was to complete more flying to make up the required 5 hours to pass the RePL. Then straight into the RePL Flight Test. Thankfully, we both passed this component. Then we headed back into the classroom for the rest of the afternoon to complete the RePL theory test. Sadly, we both failed.
We expressed our disappointment and concern, advising admin that if we had prior communication to read course modules we would have been in a much better position to successfully pass the test the first time around.
To their credit though, they did give us a chance to do a make up test which gave us the ability to pass and obtain our RePL licences.
Unfortunately we also felt the course was not really tailored to our needs for real estate photography flying as we didn't get to use the cameras onboard the drone to learn how to use them whilst flying.
As for the modules, to retain the information better for the final tests, a small multiple choice test at the end of each module would be a good addition.
In the end we were still happy to go through them... but just read the modules first before you attend the first day.

Thumbs up for Ace Aviation and David Hobby for your RePL drone license
My local DJI store recommended Ace Aviation and I wasn't disappointed as our RePL trainer David Hobby had an incredible amount of knowledge and experience as a pilot and RC entrepreneur/expert. I should add that it is essential that the provided pre-work is read and understood before the course as the 3 day course was filled with class work plus a day of flying to complete the mandatory 5 hours of flying (there was also a final flight test) plus there were 2 written tests on the last day. The whole experience was really enlightening as I learned so many new things and it has definitely made me a better, safer drone pilot. The course is challenging but achievable and I recommend Ace Aviation's RePL course to anyone who wants to take their drone knowledge to the next level or if you want to do professional drone work.

Great, interesting training course.
Fantastic training from highly skilled professionals. I had zero drone experience going in, and in 3 days the practice and theory was delivered perfectly for me to successfully obtain my qualification. Can’t ask for more than that.
