We booked a villa with Abahana with several essential requirements clearly communicated in advance, including a fully fenced garden suitable for dogs, proximity to shops and beaches, and a specific location. Due to a major electrical incident at the original villa, we were relocated twice. We cooperated fully, but the relocations caused several days of disruption, repeated packing and unpacking, and additional travel.
The final villa (Celenza) is beautiful, but it does not meet several of the essential requirements we booked for. The garden is not fenced, and our dogs can leave the property in multiple places. The location is far from shops, restaurants, and dog‑friendly beaches. These were not optional preferences but core booking criteria.
Communication throughout the process was inconsistent. We were contacted by multiple different representatives, but no one took ownership of the case. Follow‑ups were delayed, responses were often non‑committal, and the proposed “solutions” (such as a late check‑out) did not address the actual issues we experienced.
Abahana repeatedly pointed to the weather as the cause of the electrical failure, which we fully understand. However, the cause does not change the impact on us as guests. They also claimed to have covered a €600–€700 price difference between the villas. Based on the published March rates (Celenza €2,799 and Baladrar Way €2,661), this difference appears significantly exaggerated. In any case, covering a price difference resulting from their own relocation choice does not compensate for lost holiday time, stress, or being placed in a villa that does not meet essential requirements.
In the end, no meaningful gesture or resolution was offered. Our complaint was forwarded between departments without any concrete outcome.
Our experience may not reflect every stay, but based on what happened to us, guests with specific requirements — especially those travelling with dogs — should be aware that the advertised suitability and the actual conditions may differ, and that support during unexpected situations may be limited.
Abahana Villas replied to the text above. So here is my reply to their response:
Thank you for your reply. I would like to clarify a few points so readers have a complete and accurate picture.
We fully understand that the electrical incident was caused by severe weather. At no point did we blame Abahana for the storm. Our complaint concerns the impact on our stay and the handling of the situation afterward.
Despite your claim of a “tailored solution,” the final villa did not meet several essential requirements we communicated clearly before arrival, including a fully fenced garden and proximity to shops and beaches. These were not preferences but core booking criteria.
Regarding the price difference, the published March rates for the two villas (Celenza €2,799 and Baladrar Way €2,661) show a much smaller gap than the €600–€700 you referenced. This is why we described the difference as exaggerated.
We were indeed contacted by multiple representatives, but the communication lacked continuity and ownership. Follow‑ups were delayed, and the proposed gestures (such as a late check‑out) did not address the actual disruption: two relocations, several days of lost holiday time, and additional travel.
We cooperated fully throughout the process, but no meaningful resolution was offered. Our review reflects our experience accurately and factually.

Villa Aphrodite is close to the sea. Some technical issues with water and waste water systems. ABAHANE team made a high level service - whatever you asked them they solved it immediately.

Ad: the complaint was filed 3 days into the stay, not at the end. And is not relevant, since the complaints partain to long term maintainance that should’ve been dealt with before our arrival. And could not be fixed during our stay, even if we filed the complaint on the first day.
Eventually you offered 200€ yes, after repeated emails. Your initial offer however was 100€ which just goes to show how random your complaint process is. Because all the elements of the complaint were present from the first moment.
After emailing back and forth multiple times, you finally addressed some of the specific points in the complaint. Half of them filled with lies, or given no consequence. And in the end not all points were addressed.
Furthermore the elements of the complained were valued by me for every case. Which substantiated the amount of compensation I expected. You did not motivate the sum you decided on for compensation at all. Even up until now you didn’t motivate the compensation at all. And did not come near to an amount that’s satisfactory for such a terrible accommodation.
Then forcing people to sign an agreement. That says “it was resolved to satisfaction and I will not leave reviews” is a scam. And just furthermore proves how entirely aware you are of your shade practices.
I encourage you to upload all the correspondence we had. I hereby give you permission to do it. Because it will just show how right I am, and how wrong you are.
It was not handled professionally or adequately at all. You are a group of amateurs with a shiny front.
Filed an extensive complaint about all the thing wrong with this “villa” (have all the proof)
Weren’t able to respond timely. And thought 100€ compensation was a fair offer.

We have rented a villa from Abahama before but this time our experience is nothing short of disappointing. On arrival there were a number of issues, the edges and sides of the swimming pool were green, the coffee machine was broken, there was only one sun umbrella, one of the beds was stained along with the outdoor sofa, the saucepans were dirty, the bbq disgusting with broken knobs, the Villa just lacks any sort of investment or care,We contacted the villas agents whose response was that we did attend on the Sunday to clean the pool and supply a new coffee machine and water glasses. My view is that it’s not the guest’s responsibility to raise these issues but the agents or the owners to address things before a guest arrives and forks out nearly €5000.00 for a 2 week stay.

We have just returned from calpe and booked a villa with abahana.
The abahana team in calpe where fantastic.we had a small maintenance issue and they responded straight away.they also delivered a box of pastries for breakfast one morning which was a surprise,and a really lovely touch.
Socrates villa was everything and more and we will be booking again.

We have used this company on many occasions as have family & friends, but NEVER EVER AGAIN.
Please be warned people. This week they have accepted that a villa we booked with them Ana Clara in Altea was shabby & in need of a lot of work, so much so, we did not want to stay it was that bad. Looks great on their website, but in reality it is a terrible mess. We walked in, looked round, took photos & left, having to find somewhere to stay for one night, until we could meet one of their team the next day at the villa to show them why we could not stay. The sofas & cushions have ugly stains & animal hairs on them, covered over with a sheet! The walls are cracked & marked everywhere. The bathrooms are dreadful with peeling wallpaper & stains everywhere. There are holes in one of the shower trays. I could go on!
After finding somewhere else to stay, with some difficulty, as we obviously were not prepared for such a thing, they called to say they had a villa in a different location to offer us. Almost 4 hours after they’d told us they didn’t have anything. Too late for us, wrong location anyway. They are now refusing to refund us, not only for the accommodation, but for all the linens & towels that were paid for, but never used or taken out of the bag. They are not to be trusted if anything goes wrong. I NEVER write negative reviews, but felt compelled to on this occasion.
We are now being forced to take action to recover the best part of £2000. They don’t care about offering quality, they just want your money. I’d use other agents, there are plenty of them. Be very wary indeed.
Please note: The original response from Abahana Villas following my review has been edited since they have been taken to dispute today to recover monies. Another good reason not to trust them.
Abahana’s original response was in fact as follows:
“We regret the condition you describe of Villa Anna Clara and we understand how upsetting this must have been for you and your family. Please rest assured that your comments have been shared with our quality and maintenance teams so that immediate improvements can be carried out.
Regarding the relocation, we understand that the alternative we offered did not meet your needs in terms of timing and location, and we are sorry for the inconvenience caused”
The original response posted by Abahana Villas contradicts their revised response in terms of acceptance of responsibility.
Having to dispute through a third party on top of the terrible experience has caused undue and untold stress and anxiety which I would not want others to have to endure.

Family of 5 (3 adults, 1 child, 1 teen) stayed in Villa Mimosa and it was wonderful. Abahana Villas very accommodating. Customer services were great. Everything was clear from start to finish. Very high standards in the villa. Overall very comfortable 10 day stay. Pool was kept cleaned and maintained throughout stay. Beautiful villa. The outdoor areas are just perfect and so pretty. The villa was so clean, good sized rooms-had everything we needed.
We were also gifted some gorgeous pastries which were delicious and a lovely surprise. We just felt welcomed and looked after. We are already looking at our next villa stay with Abahana Villas and hope that our next stay will be just as great.
The only thing that would have made this stay just that little bit more perfect would be to have air con throughout the villa not just in the main bedroom. But honestly apart from that everything was just fabulous.

Villa Albatros that we rented looked nice and cozy in the pictures on the website. Nothing could be further from the truth, in the large living room were two dirty couches and a small table. Where the dining table was in the picture there was still a lamp, perfect to bump your head against. Two bedrooms were so white and sparsely furnished that it looked like a hospital, not according to the pictures on the site. The house was only accessible via a long staircase, this was not in the description of the Villa. Fortunately for us no problem, but with small children or if you are less mobile it is useful to know in advance.
During a walk through the garden we looked inside on the ground floor and saw all the furniture that was missing in the Villa, clearly thrown in there without interest. After a complaint via email the next morning we found a box with fresh croissants in front of the door. Nice gesture, but in retrospect very easy and once home this Villa really felt like a disappointment without warm memories.

This was our first time renting a villa, and we couldn't have chosen a better company than Abahana Villas. The villa itself was absolutely stunning—spacious, clean, and beautifully maintained. Every detail was just perfect.
But what really stood out was the service. The Abahana team was incredibly helpful, responsive, and made the entire process smooth and enjoyable from start to finish.

Great Villa – Terrible Customer Service from Abahana Villas
We stayed at Villa Avalon, which was a beautiful property and met all our expectations in terms of location, cleanliness, and comfort. No complaints about the villa itself expect for some ants in the sleeping rooms\beds we could been without.
However, Abahana Villas’ customer service was a major disappointment. When the dishwasher broke early in our stay – a crucial issue for a group of nine – we received slow, unresponsive service and we had to chase them repeatedly for updates. After first email, we had a replay that they would send someone to look at it. No further response for many hours. New email, no response. Called them and requested an update. They promised to check status. No further feedback for 19 hours. New call and same answer. Finally, a few hours later, I got a call and got conformed that they would not be able to repair the dishwasher during our stay.
After checkout and multiple emails requesting compensation for this issue, we were then finally offered compensation, the amount was laughably small considering the inconvenience. We were offered 50 EUR in discount. Based on the fact we have rented a premium Villa, with a dishwasher listed as inventory we have purchased a product Abahana Villas haven’t delivered on. The compensation was also offered only if we signed a contract that we would agree upon that the compensation was “reasonable and objective” and to not add any negative comments online.
Bottom line: The villa was great, but if anything goes wrong, don't expect Abahana Villas to handle it well. Their customer service and level of compensation offered after multiple email with no offer at all is completely inadequate and left a bad impression on an otherwise nice holiday.

Second time booking with Abahana Villas in Calpe, they are very friendly and helpful. We arrived later than expected because of a flight delay, phoned the number on the door and someone arrived within minutes to hand over the keys. Villas are very well presented. The welcome pastry hamper is a lovely touch.

They are professional and efficient and special thanks to Anne, who has been our regular point of contact for several years. She has always managed any small issues that we've experience quickly and courteously, always with a smile and pleasant greeting. The Maintenance team have always been quick to respond and have always sorted out any issues for us quickly and properly. We plan to return year on year and will of course be seeking to do so with the help of Anne and Abahana.
