Sure enough next time it rained the water is bubbling up from the ground connection. £195 for that and apparently they don't guarantee their work !!!!!!! I wish I had looked at reviews first !
A truly terrible company
A truly terrible company, don't do it. They sent a plumber that cost £175, he did some mastic and the shower leaked the same the next day. He then came back and pulled all the mastic off of the entire shower and then left saying he would return the next day and them the company told me it would cost £300 ex vat. so that over £500 to mastic a shower. so now we are left totally stranded and in worse state than we started.
I have now been issued a refund for this so at least they have done the right thing.

NEVER trust this company to do anything. They are totally incompetent in every way. Customer service is a complete joke, they will rip you off and still not do the job you’ve employed them to do.

Awful company called due to wasp nest . Engineer came out but didn’t resolve the issue ! Arrange to come back no surprise no one turned up on 3 different days even though I called and was promised someone would come out !! Awful company would NEVER recommend to anyone!!! Very quick the take your money and leave the problem as it is !!! Unreliable engineers who lie to say they have attempted to contact you however haven’t !!

We called this company for a plumber to repair our showers and where promised he would be there between 13:00 and 17:00.He never appeared all week but we got a quote of £750 for a pump and installation. I was quoted a pump for £170 , they wanted £450. We managed to get another local guy who came 1 hour after our call when he said he would and completed the job for a total of £210 for pump and installation. Would anybody trust these people.
Not Able to fix a wasps nest
Called them out re a wasps nest. Prompt arrival, stirred the shrubbery around a bit, using no insecticide, said it was done and left. For some reason circumstances meant the there was "no guarantee".
Plenty more wasps next 3 days. We dug out grub comb and killed a queen. Operator returned on our request, did nothing more except talk a lot, and left.
£140 fee for nothing. We applied wasp destroyer.
A some what mixed experience
A some what mixed experience. The plumber arrived after about 3 hrs, but in fairness they were on another job that took longer to complete. The quality of the plumbers work and professionalism cannot be faulted but the company needs to provide more timely feedback to it's clients as to when they may expect the plumber to arrive, even it's bad news, as appose to having to be called for an update. Some %50 of the overall costs were for labour and considering the time it took to install a new toilet, where next to no changes had to made to the existing infrastructure, this was excessive, in my view.

I contacted the Abel group yesterday to book in to have my toilet unblocked, I explained to the agent I spoke to that I had previously had a drain survey completed and the only issue was the shape of my pipes. I explained the toilet was clear but there was clearly a blockage in the pipes as the pipe next to the toilet was leaking water every time we flushed. The agent advised that would be a toilet issue and advised an engineer would be out between 9am - 1pm the next day. Today, I get a phone call at 11.30 advising that the engineer would now be coming by 8pm as he had been delayed and there were no other engineers in the area. Bear it in mind I had taken the day off work and had made plans for after 1pm. I then received a call from the engineer at 4.30pm to let me
know he was on his way - he also asked if I could explain to him what the issue is. I explained what I thought the problem was and he said the toilet might need to be taken off to remove the blockage and that it would cost a lot of money if I did this through Abel. He said he'd give me a call back once he'd spoken to the office. Someone named Liam called me from the office and said that I'd been quoted the wrong price (which was a fixed price) and now I would have to pay per half hour starting from £60 plus vat for the first 30mins. Liam was great and unfortunately was the poor sod who felt the brunt of my anger. If it wasn't bad enough that they failed to turn up when they said they would, they then changed from a fixed to a variable quote at 5.40pm when it was too late to call anyone else without being charged out of hours prices. They have now left me and my two kids without a working toilet over the weekend. Absolutely horrible experience and will never use them again. I have asked for a manager to call me back but don't hold out much hope!!!

Technicians visited to seek out a mouse issue in the house . Two traps left . Revisited a week later , on the wrong scheduled day , spent two minutes reviewing traps and left . No mice trapped , no treatment. Charged nearly £200 . Outrageous.

Used this company 5 months ago got totally ripped off, just had to have the lock replaced, they said it had been serviced when they did the job 5 months ago, charged me nearly £100. Obviously didn't do the job in the first place.

We had a verbal recommendation to use Abel as we had a rodent issue. I called & the same day I was offered an appointment. The telephone service was excellent. The professional gentleman who initially visited was clear, concise & efficient. The follow up visit a week later was of a similar high standard. The issue has been solved & we have clear instructions about our next steps. I would recommend Abel Group without hesitation.

I called them on Monday and they promised to visit that day but did not. I called and they promised The next day and every day after that up till Friday.
They didn’t show and didn’t call.
I spent several half hour phone calls with them on several days and each member of staff took copious details and promised a visit the next day. Absolutely nothing materialised. I have received no service at all.
They were not able to put their catalogue of mistakes right and that is why I am leaving this review.
Quoted £3500 for a £250 job - refused to refund deposit - AVOID
My elderly mothers boiler stopped working and was recommended the able group. An engineer quickly came out and had a look at the boiler saying it was completely knackered and the whole thing needed replacing and would cost £3500 - she agreed and filled out the forms and was asked to put her age on the forms and pay over £1000 upfront.
Shortly after, they contacted my mother and advised they couldn’t replace the same size boiler and she would need a much larger boiler which would involve having some of her kitchen cupboards removed, she advised the engineer she was unsure and not to order anything and would have a think. My mother contacted me and said she was worried about the job and the deposit and didn’t want her kitchen ripped apart so I suggested a 2nd opinion - a local company came out and advised 2 parts needed replacing and would cost £250- obviously this is a completely different quote and far cheaper, causing far less distress to my elderly mother.
My mother called able and advised them that she would like to cancel the job as she had been quote over £3000 cheaper and the boiler did not need replacing - a extreme rude women advised my mum they can’t cancel the job and would need to supply various reports to even have her claim to cancel considered - although their website claims 14 days cancellation and no upfront costs.
My mother called me in tears advising me what had happened, thinking she was mistaken I called them, on hold for 30 mins, then a man answered who just says “hold” and puts me back on hold for 15 mins before cutting me off. I call back and the exact same happens again however this time the abrupt man actually speaks to me - when I say speaks he shouted and spoke over me saying they couldn’t do anything until they have a 3rd party report (a report from the other repair company) had been submitted and after that it would depend how much they chose to refund as there would be various charges for the cancellation -he then abruptly ended the call.
I rang back and spoke to a lovely lady who agreed the situation was horrendous and felt sorry for my poor elderly mother who by this point was extremely worried and calling me everyday crying, needing to request reports and email over which is something she cannot do- however the advisor couldn’t do anything as her boss had advised nothing could be done until my mother had provided this report -becuase parts had been ordered (which was not correct as she had not agreed the changes to the job).
I sent an email over to the manager who replied with a template style response saying nothing could be done and then chose to ignore any further emails from me,
Luckily the company who successfully did the repair for my mother sent over the report , a week later no replies from able - I chased again and they agreed to release the deposit- no apologies or explanation as to why they attempted to take £3500 from my mother for a £250 job and no consideration for the mental stress and worry my mother was put through.
The staff do not care and have no consideration or empathy - avoid at all costs !
pest control
What a rip off.Called them to deal with ants.They subcontracted the job.Put down 2 tiny pods of poison(thats what they said).Did nothing 2 weeks later.Called someone else who sprayed the area.Ants gone in one swoop.
Terrible terrible customer service
Terrible terrible customer service, came out to fix a leaking pipe. A month and a half later the pipework then split, when I called up to report it they sent the same guy out who looked at it, said he would need to speak to the business and then they would give me a call about how to progress.
They then didn't call, I called them two days later. They then told me that they believe that it was our fault that the pipework broke (even though the colour of the pipe was different and had clearly split) and that they would come and repair it but that it would be chargeable.
Absolute joke of a business, stay well clear.

Excellent service from local engineer Dean Smith. Had to pay Abel by card upfront but service as promised. Drain unblocked by experts in five minutes. Thankyou

They asked for a credit card number which I refused as was very unsure, and two hours later rang to say no plumbers available ... luckily a friend came and helped. I am disgusted at this company and would advise people to avoid!!!!
