Do not order from this company

Do not order from this company. They do not send product, they do not respond to inquiries about placed orders. I have given them a second chance after regret and apologies and explanations of personal issues that were being resolved were expressed but unfortunately the experience hasn’t changed. The order goes through and says it will be shipped in 7-10 days, then dead air. My hope was to support a small Ontario/Canadian company. Do not order from this company.

Do not give this firm your money under any circumstances! If it was possible to give a zero star review I would.

They will quite happily take your money but as soon as you try to take it away from them, they will add so many unnecessary hoops for you to jump through your life will become a nightmare of paperwork. I found the staff when calling them to be extremely unhelpful. They will cut the line or tell you one of their managers will call you back which never happens.

Even trying to go the complaint route doesn't work, because they'll never acknowledge it! I can only imagine its because they have so many complaints that they simply havent gotten to mine yet.

Very marginal funds manager

Very marginal funds manager. High fees and low performance. Many of its funds are orphaned funds which Aberdeen ravages for fees. Look elsewhere. A "neutral" manager is a euphemism for "trash".

My wife and I have invested with ACL…

My wife and I have invested with ACL since Dec. 2025. When trying to withdraw our funds, both initial monies we deposited and earnings, they said we were on a waiting list to withdraw. The list continues to be extended. We have been dealing with a Girl, Sofia who is a go-between. She requires a 25% commission to be paid prior to releasing our funds. Reading comments here I believe othere are experiencing the same. Has anyone dealing with ACL- Aberdeen Canada Limited, been successful withdrawing funds? Or is this just a fraudulent company that requires RCMP involvement?

Abrdn Canada Limited

Be very careful entering into business with any company calling themselves abrdn Canada Limited, 200 Bay Street, Shite 1200, Toronto, Canada and headed by a Dr. Nigel Williams. He is running an investment fraud pretending to be associated or in partnership with Andersen Group. Scotland. They lulled me into depositing funds. When I realized it was a scam and tried to exit they refused to allow me to withdraw my funds. To add insult to injury, they asked me to pay a hefty fee to be able to withdraw my fund.

Applied for my 25% tax free cash…

Applied for my 25% tax free cash withdrawal. This process started in November 2025. After an 1 hour 30 minutes on the phone they confirmed they would post a form out to me. A month later the form had still not arrived. I telephoned again and they said that yes it had been posted out to me but they would send it again. It arrived the next day. I completed the form and sent it back. That was 2 weeks ago and still nothing. I was told that once they have received my signed paperwork the money would be in my account in the next 9 working days. After reading these negative reviews from other customers I'm getting worried about my money.
What can I do now?

Abrdn - worst investment company ever

I would recommend you never put your money in the hands of this company. To try and get them to pay out on my deceased mother's estate is something no-one should have to go through after a bereavement. The bank and another company paid out immediately, but Abrdn have delayed, obfuscated, raised complaints on my behalf to delay even further. One agent even admitted the complaints were simply a delaying tactic. I am outraged and beyond frustrated.

As a lifelong Standard Life customer

As a lifelong Standard Life customer, the worst thing they ever did was sell out to Aberdeen. Since then, stock values have flatlined, and I still have not been able to get onto the portal since the changeover, despite numerous attempts. A putrid company which as soon as I can, I will sell my shares on. If someone there is reading this please help me end my time with you. I can't give you a customer shareholder number because after the transition from SL, I cannot see it apart from the last 4 numbers.

Avoid avoid avoid

I would give zero but there is no option. It’s been four months since I requested to sell my investment but I still have not received the funds. Excuse after excuse, mis-information from both India-based customer services and UK-based complaints investigator. Do not place an investment with Aberdeen, you will not get your money out without a fight.

1 hour 20 minutes on the phone…

1 hour 20 minutes on the phone yesterday afternoon.
Spoke to 3 people who couldn’t help. One said she would arrange a call back on Friday, but no confirmation of this.
All my wife wanted to do, was to make a withdrawal from her Wrap SIPP.
We had big problems last year.

In 2007 I invested £10k in a stocks and…

In 2007 I invested £10k in a stocks and shares bare trust for my grandson, to be cashed in when he was 18 and intent on University. When it was withdrawn this year, Aberdeen had grown it to £ 16400. I consider this to be a poor performance over 18 years and have researched that many other Investment companies have a much better record of gains over 18 years. This is not the only disappointment with Abdn.Investments. Firstly it is extremely difficult to phone them. Their number is regularly down and e mails usually take 2 weeks to be answered. They will never ring their investors. Their postage of forms is poor. They will often duplicate the forms or fail to include material which is crucial. You tell them about this and they do not answer. You find yourself having to complete forms again as Abdn has failed to send them to you the first time. Then they want you to send the signatures of other family members and when the family is spread around Britain, collecting the signatures 3 times is tiresome to say the least.
So Aberdeen is a poor investment company and their customer service administration is chaotic. Given my experience I would never put my investments into their care again. There are many investment companies out there and most of them in my experience are much better at looking after your money. Why are there so many negative reviews on Trust Pilot? You can draw your own conclusions.

Truly awful

Truly awful. Originally my wife had an ISA with Standard Life that was then transferred to "Abrdn". Twice we have tried to draw down money from the ISA and twice this has failed online through the portal and has involved lengthy calls to the Abrdn support line to make it happen. Why have a portal that includes the option to "sell investments" that clearly doesn't work and having logged in then decides it can't verify your identity??!! Have ISA's elsewhere with other providers (Wealthify) and there's absolutely no issue accessing your money. Not a great experience - think twice we'd say.....

Really Poor Complaint handling

3rd review of this company and they are still hopeless.

Complaints process is designed for Abrdn NOT the customer. No inbound calls allowed.
I was given duff information due to Abrdn's inadequate platform.

No doubt if I try to leave they will charge a fortune to go.
