Absolutely abysmall company. Won't allow me to withdraw the money from my own ISA. Doesn't bother themselves respinding to emails, phone calls etc. Stay well away.

STAY AWAY IF YOU DON'T WANT TO GET RUINED
After you make gain from your investment and you initiate to withdraw this, they ask you to make payment of an 8% platform fee calculated over the estimated profit. After having it paid they do not respond anymore. Lost 170 thousand USD investment. Stay away and inform others about it.

UTTERLY FOOLISH NAME CHANGE
Glad that this company has decided to correct its unbelievably foolish name change. Probably the most foolish rebrand of all time. The costs of the rebranding and now the reversal should be paid for by the directors responsible personally. Why should the shareholders pay for this piece of utter stupidity?
Poor investment company
Abrdn is one of the worst investment companies I’ve ever dealt with.
They lie about transfers and do everything to keep your money, they should be investigated. Now I've got reply that's a standard one. My relatives are having the same problems with them.

Answer the dam phone!
Trying to set up withdrawal from my sipp and nobody will answer the dam phone, and wont allow me to do it online. 1 hour and 20 mins on in I gave up.
Following day got through and the chap from standard life (James) was extremely helpful and was worth 5 stars. Resource your phone lines properly!!

Stay well clear. Do not invest with ABRDN!
I have been very unhappy with the poor service the absurdly rebranded ABRDN has provided. They cannot even manage to allow customers to link a bank account to their account so when the client invariably decides to close their account due to poor service they have to wait for a bloody cheque. Twice this has happened and now I am going to make it three by completely taking all my money out of this poorly run company. Cannot trust them with my money. I never asked to be invested with them in the first place. I was with Standard Life.

abrdn Self Investor - Just Avoid!
abrdn Self Investor Platform. I originally started investing in funds when the platform was AXA but now its abrdn who 'run' the self investor platform. Its closed to new users now (thank God!) and they've simply given up on the platform completely. Its missing some fundamentally basic functionality such as you can't transfer from a non-ISA into an ISA and after selling units in a fund on 11 Feb I'm told I have to wait until 18 Feb for the money! Its 2025, not 1985. Now looking to transfer my entire holdings away from this antiquated, unsupported platform. They still take a hefty amount in fees every year though!

Avoid Abrdn if you can!!!
Avoid Abrdn if you can! I took out a Junior ISA for my children that were transferred to Abrdn. There were a few bumps, but in the end they were transferred along with my ISA. It was when my eldest son became 18 and his junior ISA matured that the trouble started. Since September last year he has not been able to access his ISA, no one can help either of us when we phone in (because he cannot be verified!!!), letters come back with barely legible responses that tell us nothing, emails to ‘customer service’ go unanswered. I have logged a complaint, which seems to be following a purely regulatory process - they are taking the full 8 weeks with automated responses at the required times).
Despite all efforts, my son can still not access his account…. You don’t need this level of hassle - just place your investments elsewhere and whatever you do, don’t take out a junior ISA with them!

Poor experience
My standard life shares were transferred to ABRDN and I continually cannot access them. Customer service virtually doesn’t exist and the platform is the worst that I’ve ever used.

Absolutely appauling “service”…
Absolutely appauling “service” following a sad loss. Legal procedures ignored for a deed of variation on my late fathers will. Constant mis-advice, lack of legal knowledge and delays. Rude staff who talk over you and would not touch this company woth a barge pole now and my father must be spinning in his grave. Not shocked to learn of a 1.2 rating from the only review site I trust! AVOID ABRDN. I am contacting the BBC and the Onbudsman as we are forced to withdraw monies costing us dearly and to avoid the age 75 tax rule!

Trying to get bank accounts verified and communication is a problem from a financial adviser's point of view. The platform is not user friendly.

Back office officiousness and a bereavement
Back office officiousness and absolutely stupid forms procedures and expectations. Compliance does not warrant this. This made bereavement paperwork into something painful and made me HATE this company.
"We apologise for the issues"
Yeah, well, you did it again - to me - and I'm raising a complaint. You lot should sort your copulating act out before you are widely hated.

ABRDN exceptionally poor
After posting a review about the extremely inadequate service provided by Abrdn after my husbands death, they replied by asking for details so they “can look into my case”. However, they don’t offer any way of contacting them with this information. Just very, very poor.

Working with this company was dancing to a broken tune, offbeat and frustrating at every turn. No support which completely wreched all my input. Dancing "Upward Trust" brought the rhythm and melody back to my investments. Abrdn, fix your tune.

Very hard to get money back after closing account
They owe me some money after I closed my account. Waiting on phone querying this to no avail. I hung up in the end. I closed my account because I was so unhappy with ABRDN but getting my funds back has been more than a headache. Still waiting.
I SEE A REPLY FROM ABRDN BUT HOW HAVE THEY REACHED OUT TO ME? IT'S UNCLEAR.

abrdn making no effort to comply
i invested with abrdn many years ago,I sent a letter on 28 October 2024 enclosing all relevent documentation requesting my units be repurchased and the proceeds be deposited in my account. It is now 20 th novemeber 2024-4 telephone calls -3 unanswered e mails and still no payment received, i am merely told they are working on it.
If i knew they were this inefficient i would not have invested with them. They told me in a letter it would take 5 days-Why would anyone knowing the facts invest with this co.
There was also an attempt to hack my account which they handled very poorly-even arranging a sale note/

update:
I received a reply from ABRDN and they said they would" reach out" to me( their standard reply).I gave them my policy number and their reply "Sorry we do not have information to supply to you"
Just a fob off-what do i do now?
I am merely asking when will i receive my money
further UPDATE DEC 1
i received a reply from Fiona who told me they were"trying to reach out to the certifiers"
This is not possible as they were certified by the South African Police who do not keep copies
They look at the original and certify. We are merely referringto an id,drivers licence, proof of address and bank statement.(STILL CHECKING A MONTH LATER).
I am nearly 90 and this is part of my pension and it distresses me but ABRDN are not concened.
UDATE DEC 5-Still no payment or reason for non payment. What do i do?
UPDATEE 7 DEC,
I have not had a "positive experience" with ABRDN.
Fiona at my request sent an e mail to "Service" requesting them to phone me.They have not done so and i am still waiting to be paid out from 28 OCT
UPDATE 11DEC-I requested the namee, phone no and manager of"Services" but no reponse-Why can i speak to them?
UPDATE 6 JANUARY 2025
I have still not been paid.
i resubmitted documents and they have not indicated anything wrong with them.
i was given the name of Imran Queresch by Fiona.
At first he was pleasant but now he no longer returns calls or e mails-not a good advert.
It is now over 2 months and i have lodged a complaint with the UK OMBUDSMAN-Maybe that will help

Reluctant to give 1 star so they get a nostalgic 2* rating. Timescales with dealing with the most basic of requests is very disappointing. Transfer of servicing sent in end of August, only partially completed. Chased the rest of it on 10 October, been told that request is now subject to a further 15 working day turnaround - even though they acknowledge they did not deal with the initial request in August.
In this day and age a 10 day working day turnaround is really poor. Worth noting that their old business, Standard Life under Phoenix, dealt with a similar request in 3 working days.

TERRIBLE
I was with Standard life and was automatically transferred to ABDRN.
Stay away from this company. They are chaotic! disorganised and undertrained! They are woefully undertrained on what should be the basics.
You will waste your energy trying to teach their staff their job.
*DO NOT* bother writing a complaint letter, just do not waste your time and efforts, the complaints team will just palm you off. No investigation whatsoever. Trustpilot will not allow me to name the complaint handler.
After reading the reviews from others, I was at least reassured that I am not alone

This firm just don't want to part with the deceased's money
I am a solicitor and have been trying to help my ex-sister-in-law deal with her father's estate. This company is not fit to deal with anybody's money, as far as i am concerned. Instead of receiving probate and sending a cheque with the payee as "the administrators or the estate of J F "$£*, they have come up with all manor of excuses and reasons for asking for more information. I would never trust my money with this firm.
Want your data sent to anyone?
Sends personal information to the wrong person, state they will continue to after being informed, refuse to look into it and refuse a deadlock letter is fundamentally wrong.
Want to trust your money to a firm that flouts data protection? use this lot then
Update (to their reply) -
Just the stock reply sent to your many unhappy customers. So you have “reached out” for information you already have when you dismissed my request to stop sending someone else’s private data.
