Thank god I've found my 'go to' garage at last

Thank god I've found my 'go to' garage. After endless disasters with the usual in and out quick for the next punter and mishandling, it was an eye opener to meet such a conscientious, extremely knowledgeable team who care for you and your car, as if you are their only customer.
I came in for a undiagnosed problem, it was found and a plan was executed within the next day as they contacted me to squeeze me inb as they felt it was urgent prioritising my need.
After this fix, a full assessment of my car (free courtesy service offered) was undertaken and wow, thank heavens they did as I had a much worse issue which was missed by other so called mechanics and we are now working together to get it fixed. Every word stated is backed up by a tour of my vehicle to point out these issues and photos of work carried out too. This total transparency and openness gives me so much confidence and appreciation for them and as if that's not enough, they are so reasonable too.
As far as I'm concerned this is the only place my BMW will be worked on.

From Nightmare to Resurrection: How Absolute BM Saved My BMW 335d

Owning a BMW is meant to be a joy, but for years my 335d was closer to a nightmare. I’d trusted the wrong people — so‑called “specialists” who turned out to be anything but. Bodges, shortcuts, missing parts, and dangerous mistakes built up over time, until I seriously considered calling it quits and scrapping my pride and joy.

Then I found Absolute BM and Travis, and the difference was night and day. What started out as a straightforward job to replace six injectors became a full‑scale resurrection of my car.

Straight away, Travis uncovered a huge issue that explained so much of my car’s past trouble: because the car had been left outside with no scuttle panels fitted, water had found its way into cylinders 5 and 6. That could have been the end of the engine. Instead of panicking or cutting corners, Travis carefully removed every trace of water from the internals, used an endoscope to inspect the integrity of the engine from the inside, then flushed it through to ensure it was completely clear. He even carried out full compression testing across all cylinders to confirm the engine’s health. That thoroughness gave me absolute peace of mind that I wasn’t going to face hidden engine damage down the line.

From there, he systematically went through issue after issue that others had left behind and put everything right. Here’s just some of what he tackled:

Sump repair – instead of recommending a costly replacement, Travis rethreaded the sump after previous damage, saving me ££££.

Vacuum lines – rerouted and fitted properly with heat shields, restoring correct operation and preventing future heat‑related failures.

ECU and mapping – tested, restored, and corrected, bringing it back to factory spec and resolving long‑standing issues.

Exhaust and heat shields – realigned and resecured after damage from both previous bodge jobs and the tow truck.

Scuttle panels – sourced and refitted where others had simply left them missing, ensuring everything sealed properly again.

Lower arm replacement – necessary after tow‑truck damage, carried out to exact BMW standards.

Gear selector wiring – soldered and repaired to not only remove a gearbox code but also to restore sport mode functionality on the shifter.

Glow plugs – correctly torqued to spec after discovering they’d been left loose by an incompetent mechanic, a potential disaster averted.

Battery replacement – fitted a new one after the old unit died from the car sitting too long, avoiding electrical gremlins.

Preventative modification – even thought ahead, removing the compartment beneath the ECU to stop it from ever getting drenched again and causing catastrophic future faults.

What impressed me wasn’t just the sheer amount of work done, but how Travis did it. Every bolt torqued to spec. Every detail checked. No corners cut. He treated the car as if it were his own, fixing both the big problems and the small annoyances that others never cared about.

When the keys were finally handed back, I was honestly blown away. My BMW 335d didn’t just run right again — it felt reborn. Smooth, powerful, reliable, and done properly for the first time in years.

If you own a BMW and you’re lucky enough to get Absolute BM to work on it, consider yourself blessed. They don’t just repair cars — they restore them. Travis has given me back the car I thought I’d lost forever, and I can’t recommend him and the team highly enough.

No exaggeration, no fluff — just a genuinely grateful customer who nearly gave up on BMW ownership, only for Absolute BM to bring it all back.
