Very little fake profiles, it feels things are mostly real.

Do not subribe to Academic singles. There website is a scam. 85% of people cannot be wrong. Cancelling is a nightmare. I cancelled with them and sent a email to confirm my cancellation to their customer service team in January 2022. They don't leave you cancel so they keep charging you.
I have now received letter from debt collectors threatening to take me to court. These people need to be reported and i will report them to the EU. They do not care about you at all.

I will provide regular updates. They will use all excuses like say cancelling by email attachment. I have sent them everything by email. They have my emails and ignore them. Even in their reply they lie. My solicitor will be in contact with debt agency as I am not paying for a service when they were given months upon months notice sufficient notice. I will file complaints to EU regarding GDPR as my data was passed onto Debt collector. I will get police involved aswell in Luxembourg or whatever country there hiding in and using virtual offices. I want these people brought to court.

Cancellation emails were sent to debt collectors as proof I gave sufficient notice that academics singles failed go do their job from their customer service side. I'm just waiting on debt collectors response now to emails I sent.
If they want to go down legal route of things that is no problem as I will have my solicitor request details from their legal team in the coming days.

For cancelling basically they want you to send a cancellation email but a written document signed and attached to a email saying you want to cancel stating your country, full name etc. They have all your details already as you have an account with them so its just a gimmic. You send them a email stating you want to cancel is sufficient and this is what the judge will rule on.
I have requested solictors details from debt agency and I have asked for academic singles solictors details aswell. Once I get them I will let everyone no. My next step is to see if I can get in touch with other impacted victims and get them to support court case. All they had to do what leave me alone. I told them I didnt want the service anymore in January 2022. This chose this route with their threats from debt collectors.

The debt collectors insist on paying and to be fair to them they email everyday. I must give them credit for their consistency though but I won't be paying. In fact they have overcharged me as they continued to charge me after I stated I wanted to cancel.They just don't understand what there dealing with yet though. In order for them to be successful in getting money from me they will need to dispute this in a European Court. They will also need to dispute the law set out by the Eurpean Union for customers and as a customer they have to prove that I don't have a right to cancel contract via means of email. Basically they will need to ask the European Union to rewrite the law. Good luck with that. Their attitude is they couldn't care less but as I've said I'm willing to meet them in court. Ive read all the reviews on every website and contacted numerous victims on other websites.That's the difference between me and other people. I'm going to go all the way. Their bullying antics won't work on me. I'm coming for the money they owe me.

It took some time, but finally all the effort has paid off.

I tried to cancel my subscription with Academic Singles via email in May and Academic acknowledge that. Tell how many 74 year old people know how to download forms sign them and send them by email. People do not use letters nowadays -,emails are considered by law enough.
And how can a one only subscription for 3 months be ongoing if not requested. I don’t know how to reply to you all your emails are no reply. Nasty bunch!

Academic Singles have taken £191 out of my bank account . I registered for monthly membership, to be paid monthly, free to cancel at anytime . I did not authorize this payment
Reading other comments is alarming . This is obviously a fraudulent organisation.I'll contact my bank first thing in the morning and ensure that no further funds are taken . I wish I'd checked them out on Trust Pilot before registering with them . I wish to cancel my subscription immediately.

I joined up on the basis that while I was creating a profile they asked for my postcode and said there was plenty of people to meet locally. There are literally zero people near me. I also was expecting to pay £14.99 for a month, but was charged £59.96 for 4 months. What on earth am I going to do with a four month subscription with nobody to meet? I have contacted them twice with a complaint and been ignored.

Biggest scam ever

Firstly, you sign up for a month paying R396 and they give you no option to cancel, keep saying the option will be available in a few days, and 4 weeks later it’s not there.

Secondly, out of no where an amount 3 times the monthly subscription comes out of you account the following month, a whooping R999, while you are still waiting for a Cancelation option to appear, I have screenshots of this. With no explanation of what the actual subscription is for. 1 month, 2 moths, 3 months. So all in all in 31 days am R1397 out of pocket.

Thirdly, there are no academic singles, it’s dull of fake losers, I’d vouche for Elite Singles any day. I came across security guards, drivers, and a lot of rubbish.

DO NOT MAKE THE MISTAKE and they still won’t cancel it, to continue taking money from you, they require complicated Cancelation process, 32 days later, I’m waiting for the option to appear on the settings.

I came across this site in dec 2019. Received an email today from their Claims department claiming I owe them $734 for premium membership fees and they are not able to deduct that amount from my card, n if I did not make payment they would refer my case to external debtors for collection. This was a site that was advertised as “free membership”, I never once agreed to pay for any membership fees nor did it state there were any- if there were, they would have my credit card details by now. Consequently I have made a police report - this is a case of fraud and if they continue to send me such emails on payment I will forward them to the police and file harassment charges against them. Complete scammers

I would give it no stars. But there was no option to select. The question is not if this site is a good dating platform or not. The fraud is in how they don’t let you cancel your membership. When you click to cancel if says it cannot be done at this point in time and asks us to email them to which of course there is no reply. So this is definitely a fraudulent website because you can never get out of it. My only option was to cancel my credit card.

Tried to get a refund after I realised it was an awful site that rips people off...ZERO customer service, recurring payments (unauthorized)...cant even cancel or delete the membership! The pits

i totally disagree with you on your reply, something is wrong with your site after i paid i never get any reply from anyone, even my friends all complain of the same..I believe my replies are being blocked from the back end

I can't believe in this day and age that companies like you still exist. Scamming people by charging illegal RECURRING billing, and at that, more than double I signed up for!! In fact, the initial payment wasnt even authorized yet payment still went through.
Not even an opt out option on your site?? Making the process painful and definitely not user friendly. No emails even warning that you will charge these ridiculous unauthorized fees!

I have emailed the customer service team in regards to canceling my membership seven days ago (23 August 2022) and still have not received a confirmation of the cancelation. I only received an automated email saying the following:

I joined this dating site to see if unlike the other (numerous) dating site I might just find the person I was looking for. I DID NOT TAKE OUT A SUBSCRIPTION AS I WANTED TO PERUSE THE SITE FIRST. I have received emails that state they have found a perfect match BUT these supposed matches are nothing like perfect the first thing I pick up on it that these people are no where near my requirements for height, they also live 100's of miles from me ( long distance relationship do not work) I am so glad that I popped into Trust Pilot BEFORE Joining this site !!! I go back now only to find that one of the profiles that was sent to me that I complained about states THAT I LIKE THE PERSONS PROFILE. IT GETS WORSE ???

Ive been trying to contact the customer service aver 3 month to cancel my membership, no one replied back to me and they are still charging me money.

Its a total scam app.

Worst dating website I have ever come across... It is very sad and shocking the way they operate. The cancellation process is painful and unethical... A simple cancellation button is what any decent company fairly offers online to end any membership and its normally straight forward and very quick....their process is just complicated and even if you manage to proceed that cancellation it is just ignored or overlooked. All of this seems just unethical. I received a threatening email to pay for the extension of the membership ...they blocked my account too and asking me to pay to be able to login in again... just wrong...
I regret to have ever come across this website. The choices of people are poor and the matches just wrong… Customer service is also just not good. I do not recommend it at all. Such a poor service....it deserves 0 star to me.

This website is FAKE. They sent me pics of models with different names,ages & location and claimed they were interested in me. They want an additional Premium fee to communicate with hoax members. STAY AWAY

Academic single no need to respond here! But please do respond to my multiple emails asking you for your address and jurisdiction so that I can have papers served on you. Perhaps to show you are genuine you will post your correct detail when you insert your standard respond. I doubt you even read responses as frequently does not respond to what the writer of a poor review has written.
