Watch out!! It's a scam!!! You sign up for 1 month, they will take around 50-60 € from your account. The price for the service you see before you give your card details is different than the price they will charge you. This website has nothing to do with " academic" singles, maybe 2% of members are with higher education status... You need written cancellation!! 7 days before your 1st month is up, otherwise your account will be charged. No way to get your money back!!!

Academic Singles is the worst of the supposedly 'reputable' sites I tried out. They send you spam notfications of supposed 'matches' who are interstate or OS - during a pandemic lockdown (!) They got the most money out of me, for the worst result. Plenty of Fish, and Zoosk, were so much better.

I joined as a trial for a month, no contract. What I found was mainly scammers with no reality photos. I decided after a month to not continue and let them know. They then took out almost $400 out of my account without my permission. It has been a nightmare trying to cancel. It's all false, don't go there. I'm sure they will write me a nice little reply saying how sorry they are but don't believe them, they are scammers

This is a fraudulent company who I cancelled after the initial ( overpriced ) cost. I also tried to cancel and then 2 years later get a debt collection company trying to get money out of me.
It’s a disgrace they not only get away with having a terrible fake service but then have legally tried to scam people to make it impossible not to pay.

Academic singles deliberately make the unsubscribe process complicated and difficult so that they can keep charging subscriptions well after the request to cancel the subscription. They have stolen $420 from me. A legitimate business would not do this.
If you have a subscription then unsubscribe now, if you have not signed up then don't otherwise you will be overcharged.

This website is scam yes they charge in the 1 month small amount then 2 month they charge big amount and when you subscribe it there is no mention amount. They based in Luxmburg.
3 point is even you dont have option to cancel your subscription.
I wrote them email but tricky answer no refund. Stay away from them big scam.

I have received a notification from my bank today that an amount of R999.00 was deducted from my credit card for Academic Singles. I did not authorise this.

I have also subscribed for a month and was charged R199.00, where the amount stated was R99.00.

Please see reply from Academic Singles below, they cancelled my membership, but not a word about the R999.00 that was deducted from my credit card without my consent.

We have received your cancellation and we can confirm that your Premium Membership will expire on 25.09.2021. Please note that your profile will remain active even after the cancellation.

What do I have to do for them to pay my money back?

I can’t believe how bad this site is and in spite of my best efforts I can not cancel my membership!!! I have followed all their instructions and gotten nowhere- their email response is appalling-“ Please note that our messaging system accepts tickets according to the date they were sent with the oldest first. If you send multiple emails they will go to the back of the queue, therefore, a response to your query may be delayed.”
Did you ever see such nonsense!!!! Needless to say they’ve taken another month subscription from my account although I only signed up for one month and now I can’t get off it?!! What is the legal status here, surely they’ve got contractual obligations to allow people terminate at ease?

Most profiles are not professionals nor have any academic background. Total false advertising. I paid premium because of a 50% offer. HUGE MISTAKE! I sent an email to cancel my subscription, received the confirmation email that stated they would contact me soon. TOTAL LIE! Now I have been charged for a 3 month period, which I did not authorized.
And since I am reading that many have been scammed and having trouble having their money returned, I now have to go to my bank, contest the charge and block my card thanks to them.
I am in Spain so I am using the Spanish version, given the Spanish email ayuda@ solterosconnivel.es but the customer service physical address is the same Luxembourg one given to most in the review. 100% SCAM COMPANY!

This website is the biggest scam ever. I realised 24hrs in after signing up to 3 months and tried to cancel since with no-look, yet. I have been emailing them and their first response was around a new password, their second one said that if you sent multiple emails that your issue would be sent to the back of the queue.
They have said there is a form online to cancel the subscription however I cannot find it anywhere.
If I don't hear back from them in 24hrs I will be taking further legal advice.

This app is, to put it bluntly, false advertising. I signed up for a month but was billed in advance for several months. There are no academics on here - only the same loser singles I found for free on Tinder in the same area as me. Total waste of money & struggling to cancel my membership. Don't waste your time!

They are scammers. I had registered in that 6 months ago, I wanted just 1 month subscription but they took my money from the bank account every months without letting me know.

I signed up today for the monthly plan (3 month minimum)-it was £30-something per month & I assumed they would take that amount, per month, for each month. But no-they took the full amount to cover 3 months)-did not send me any email confirmation "thank you for joining" and nowhere under my Account or Settings details do I see confirmation of my subscription with the amount I paid. Within 15 mins. of joining I sent them an email requesting that my membership be cancelled as I had changed my mind and I have had no reply. I've already notified my bank, who can see the transaction pending-they said I ought to give them a few days to get back to me, and if no response, then to contact the bank.

I had registered in that 1 year ago, I wanted just 1 month subscription but they took my money from the bank account every months without letting me know:(( . I send several emails but they didn't answer. I just want to cancel the subscription. They still automatically renew the subscription i don't want it ....Please helppp !!@

WARNING! After a few days of using this scam website you will realise they have no genuine profiles, just some fakes to keep you involved. If you haven’t given them your bank details yet the best thing you can do is to avoid it!

It is in for the collections department - despite numerous emails stating that I had not registered they have not replied and keep stating that it will taken to collections. UNBELIEVABLE. I joined with a one time payment of €19. Today they charged me €49. When I tried to deactivate my account the website is showing that I can’t do it unless I cancel the account. I have no idea how to do this as I can’t find their email address from the website.

Hello, I am devastated. My card was charged without authorization, and without notification on June 14 while I am not even a member since 2018, and have not been in contact with academicsingles since then. Please, urgently help to refund me the money. I will need to get a legal service to deal with it otherwise.

All they can offer is multitudes of fake profiles and bots.
Once you sign up they charge you four times more starting from next month.
I regret having engaged with AcademicSingles because I wasted my money and now I’m having a hard time trying to cancel my subscription.

so I signed up because it seemed like I'd got messages before even paying; nope, all autobots. Cancelled immediately, now being harassed for renewal payment for 3 months. AS won't let me access my account to provide evidence of cancellation meeting ToB. Avoid at all costs
