Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Considering 68 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many customers reported significant difficulties in contacting the company, with calls frequently going unanswered or being directed to voicemails without return calls. People also expressed dissatisfaction with the warranty service, as claims were often denied with what they perceived as feeble excuses or were only partially paid after extensive delays. Furthermore, numerous consumers struggled to receive refunds, with many waiting months or even longer without success, despite assurances that checks had been mailed. The claim process itself was a source of frustration for many, who felt that the company created roadblocks, leading to unapproved repairs or incomplete reimbursements. Conversely, a small portion of people felt that the sales and claims representatives were honest and reliable, and some even mentioned positive experiences with warranties.

Paid $1780 for policy and now they refuse to answer my calls after I had a claim.

I paid $1780 for a protection plan for my truck. I began having transmission problems so I was told to get a quote and send it over and so I did. They then asked for my maintenance records which I sent them. However, after I sent over my records they kept giving me the run around and now they won't even answer my phone calls or respond to me. The last time I spoke with them I questioned their practices and she hung up on me. I have filed a complaint with the BBB. Check them out with the BBB & DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY!

Horrible Company and Service

Be very careful before accepting a contract with Ace Auto Protect. If you have any issues within the first 30 days, they will be of no assistance (approved for only $500) which would be of no help for repairs. Since this is an extended warranty, my vehicle was purchased used. I took it in for my 10k service interval per my vehicle's handbook. Multiple items were depicted as needing repairs, at which time a claim was filed. Once Ace Auto Protect advised they could only cover $500, I requested they cancel the claim (which according to their supervisor can't be done), but I was not made aware of this. 4 months later I took my vehicle back so I could pass the 90-day threshold and qualify for the $5,000 limit for repairs. When we contacted Ace Auto Protect they advised that since a claim was placed previously, they cannot honor the new claim, and must go off the original claim, which only allowed a contribution of $500 instead of $5,000. Needless to say, very disappointed with the company.

After cancelling my contract back in February 2025, I have yet to receive my refund. According to them, I needed to send additional documentation. I sent the required information (certified mail) in July 2025, and still have not received my refund 6 months later.

Has anybody taken legal action against this company, and if so, would they be willing to share who they went through?

Agree that they are an absolute scam

Agree that they are an absolute scam. They are slow to pay and so the repair shop will no longer wait for payment and we have to pay in full but then Ace doesn't tell you how to submit for reimbursement. They tell you that EVERYTHING is covered and lead you to believe this is an exclusionary policy but it is NOT. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THEM.

TOTAL SCAM!

I purchased the Platinum Elite plan. My water pump went out on my Dodge Diesel total repair cost $866.70, I was informed I would receive $187.50 for labor and $50.00 for the new water pump $237.60 total. Has anyone in the last 30 years bought a replacement water pump for $50.00? Now I call for the status of my check and if I am not just disconnected I am on hold until I give up. I have currently been on hold for over an hour.
TOTAL SCAM DO NOT BUY!!

Terrible company to deal with - a scam.

Purchased Warranty from ACE on January 8, 2025, for 2015 Jaguar XF.
The policy was for 5-years or 100,000 miles (whichever came first). The deductible was $50.00 and the premium was $2,699.
Warranty claim: In March 2025, car had an emissions system failure. Car taken for repair. The problem was a failure of the Max Air Pressure Control valve, a covered repair under terms of my warranty.
I informed garage that I had a covered repair under my auto warranty policy. They would not accept direct payment from ACE Auto Protect because their experience was they are very slow to pay, if they pay at all.
I paid for repair directly to not delay getting my car fixed. I agreed to deal directly with ACE for reimbursement.
ACE was extremely difficult, requesting an extensive amount of paperwork and initially disputing the garage’s invoice. This delayed getting ACE’s approval for the reimbursement of the covered repair. When ACE finally did agree to pay the claim, they only agreed to pay $232.20, although the repair cost was $686.59. Thus, ACE paid only 33.8% of the repair cost, while the deductible on my policy is $50!
When I complained ACE stated that the part can be obtained from several discounted outlets and they would only pay for the cheap part which was of questionable quality and reliability, & cost much less than the high-quality OEM part that my service station used in the repair. (My garage guarantees their work and would not use a substandard part.)
Once ACE approved my claim, which took weeks and many phone calls, I was told a check would be issued in 30 business days, (a 5-day week). I did not receive my check for a month-and-a-half.
Policy Cancellation:
After this experience it was clear I could not rely on ACE for future warranty reimbursement should another repair be needed. I notified ACE that I wished to cancel my policy and receive reimbursement for the unused portion of my coverage. This notification was on July 8, 2025, exactly 6-months after my policy went into effect. With the policy written for 5-years (60-months), I expected a reimbursement of 90% of the premium, or $2,429. The policy was cancelled in accordance with the terms of the contact, Part VII – CANCELLATION OF VEHICLE SERVICE CONTRACT – Part B: After thirty (30) days. The policy was cancelled on July 20, 2025. I was informed that I would not receive 90% of my original premium; they would deduct for the milage driven by the vehicle during the 6-months the policy was in effect, and they would also deduce from my reimbursement the monies they had previously paid me for my covered repair!
The agent was unable to tell me how much my reimbursement would be, but it would be “somewhere between $1600 and $1800.” This payment would be issued “within 60-business days.” This would delay payment for 12 weeks. I should expect to receive payment by October 12th. A check was not received by that date. I contacted ACE. Again, it was extremely difficult to reach an agent and they did not return my calls. But eventually, I reached an agent, who told me that a check would be mailed on October 31st. It is now November 15th. No check has been received. I don’t believe ACE ever issued a check.

Fraud Company

The sales department gives you the impression that filling a claim is easy and as long as the parts are listed on your contract it will be covered. If you decide to use this company please read all the literature that comes to you because this company will try to pay as little as possible and in my case they didn’t pay anything. The claims department will tell the shop that these parts are regular maintenance even though the parts are listed in the contract. If you don’t cancel in the time frame they will prorate your refund. Also if you want your money back they require you to take all negative reviews you posted about this company. If you don’t you will not receive any money back. That is really tacky and shows this company is a fraud. I’ve never heard of a company doing that. My refund should not be based on the reviews. Please do not use this company. You will be stuck with the auto repair bill. The whole point of having an extended warranty is so you’re not stuck with a high bill. So please think twice about using this company you will be disappointed. They are not transparent and will have a attitude when you question them.

Fraudulent Practices

Do not, Do not, Do not deal with this organization.
They are a complete fraud. Any positive reviews on this company must be fabricated because my experience and the majority of others have been a nightmare. They do not respond, and when they do it is a very negative outcome.
Please do yourself a favor investigate and do your home work before purchasing any automotive extended warranty plans. I am fortunate my credit card company had my back.

This company is a scam

This company is a scam. I purchased a warranty from Ace Auto Protect. Months later I took my car in for repairs and my mechanic could not get a hold of anyone at Ace Auto Protect to get them to pay for the repairs, as they claimed was an available feature of the warranty I purchased. I filed a claim with Ace Auto Protect to be reimbursed for the repairs. They left me a voicemail saying that they would mail me a reimbursement check. They never mailed me a check or paid me. I called several times and they said the check was in the mail - that was February 2025. It is now September 2025 and I never received anything from them. I call their phone number and no one comes to the line. 0 stars, a scam, they should be shut down immediately.

I would give them a zero if possible

I would give them a zero if possible, Ace has zero intention of paying any claims, they bring up issues that the car had prior to my purchase, then said they will cancel the policy. They don't respond to any emails or calls asking on why they canceled, not willing to refund the policy that isn't even 7 month old.
