ACE Studio Reviews 

Ace Studio clearly have no confidence in their product, it’s a HUGE RED FLAG not allowing a true free trial without handing over your payment information. Even a 24hr/48hr test period would be enough for most people to ascertain if this is for them. No wonder so many are hesitant and are calling it a scam. IMO this will be their downfall, especially as an increasing number of more honest and trusting companies arrive on the scene, most offering the same thing and more. Shame, I would have liked to try this.

I subscribed to Ace Studio and quickly realized it was not what was advertised. The biggest problem is the refund process: there is no human way to request a refund.

The email address they provide for support/refunds appears not to exist or never replies. I sent multiple messages and received no response at all. There is no clear ticket system, no live support, nothing.

Because of this, the subscription feels extremely unsafe and misleading. When a company takes your money but makes it practically impossible to contact them or request a refund, it looks and feels like a scam. I’m still waiting for my refund.

I’m writing this to warn others: be very careful before subscribing. If you pay and are unhappy, you may never see your money again.

No trialversion anymore... I don't give my money (over 264 bugs/subscribing for a year) for just try and then hope to get it back within the 7-day-refund-thing. No thanks!!! Hey ACE Studio... offer an proper trial version ore at least a monthly price-plan and than we will see ... but with this kind of behavior I don't wanna even try ur stuff.

First I have to install everything and then they tell me to pay for use. So I tried to uninstall everything, but it didn't work. Now I have ths slop on my PC. What a mess!

I have just been charged out of the blue £149, I have no idea how they even got my card details. I would avoid this company

Free trial is non-existent. They make you download their DAW to your computer, then create an account, and then... (wait for it!) ... you are asked to pay before you can even open it, let alone use it. They say they will refund you if you don't like the program within 7 days. But! There is no automatic way to get the refund- you must email their customer service, and we all know how it goes- ignored emails, delayed refunds, unauthorised chargings of your account because of some hidden T&C, etc. Just give a no-fuss, free trial so I can test-drive your DAW. If I like it, I will pay you, believe me. But I don't like this money-grabbing thing. If you are so desperate for money, your product must be pretty crap, or you'd be confident your clients wouldn't walk out on you. Thanks, but no thanks. Uninstalled the DAW before I set myself up for a stress marathon to retrieve my money. I've burned myself too many times subscribing to similar stuff only to regret it afterwards.

Well, judging by the reply below, my decision not to give them my money seemstobe right. Their reply is generic "copy-and-paste" and have no relation to what was said in my review. Clearly did not bothered to take their time to read what I said and write a meaningful reply.

Ok it is billed annually for one year as Trail version and it needs some time to generate or render but it is a really interesting production tool!

I have Ace voices on some of my songs. Folk are amazed that they're AI voices. I record my own singing, and Ace makes it into MIDI and puts the words to the notes. I then put an Ace voice onto the words. There was a problem with an update, which Ace fixed.

The product DOES NOT work like the examples shown in the promo videos. The phrasing/pronunciation is weird and, in some instances, impossible to rectify, despite juggling with alternative phonemes for hours. All the voices seem to have a non-English native speaker accent. The actual process for getting a midi file into app and typing lyrics over notes is straightforward, but the results are disappointing and correcting the weird accents obliterates any time savings. It's a pity. Hopefully, these issues will be rectified in time.

ace studio 2.0 is amazing far better laid out user experience/interface than the original. creating vocals takes a small learning curve. but is worth tinkering around with. the software has incredible functionality. it keeps getting better and better. well worth purchasing outright.

In such complex scenario landscape as innovative as AI in music and creative technologies, ACE Studio proves to be a great oasis in the desert as a tool where the composer/musician can use AI while still remaining in control of the creation and compositions, without unwanted randomness. The instruments and voices already offered are at an incredible level of realism, never before achieved so naturally and quickly. Of course, given the complexity of the possibilities, there is vast room for improvement and exploration, but being a user practically from the beginning, and seeing how much they have advanced and already accomplished in such a short time, I can already imagine so many good things to come. Very satisfied with the possibilities and the commitment this company has to innovation, always focusing on keeping the composer in control. Congratulations!

I’ve been using ACE ever since I learned it about watching it demonstrated by YouTuber Dr Mix. After being totally intrigued by this technology, I actually researched the various AI-powered Vocal/Singing software platforms out there. After finishing my due diligence, I determined that ACE was/is the best platform for me.
First and foremost the sound of the voices back then and to present day are outstanding. ACE has continued to refine, improve and evolve its platform. They have continued to offer more voices, more languages, more styles and user control. And most recently ACE has added AI Instruments and AI Music Generation. The platform is flexible and the ACE Team demonstrates an innovative and collaborative spirit.
I have been impressed that the ACE Team reached out early and often to get personalized feedback from its customers. And they’ve followed through on various refinements and/or feature requests from their users. This customer focused approach is one if the reasons I’m so impressed with ACE.
The platform itself is another example of the ACE Team‘s technical acumen while remaining open to ideas for innovation and/or optimization. And being part of their Beta Test Group, I can attest that their latest release is evidence of this approach and commitment.
Being a writer/composer/producer with limited resources and little to no ability to sing, ACE Studio has been a game changer for me. While I would prefer to use live singers/musicians, the reality is that I don’t have the budget or the time to hire singers/musicians to complete my ideas, most of which are “pet projects”. ACE enables me to create all the vocals that I need to realize ideas that otherwise would only exist in my imagination.
I use the various methods available to create my vocals in ACE; primarily entering lead melodies and harmony parts using my keyboard, entering the lyrics, then editing timing, melodic embellishments, expressions and emotion. Like anything, I’ve gotten better and faster over time, and the results from ACE are outstanding.
I’m excited with all the new features and capabilities that the ACE Team has brought to the platform. And I’m extremely satisfied with ACE Studio as a critical tool in my music production workflow, and I highly recommend it.

I bought Ace Studio quite a while ago and have seen them go through many iterations of pricing, voices, DAW integrations, etc. and they have been doing an excellent job.

In the beginning, voices were all very "pop" and "RnB" and when I got the chance to do my own custom voice even my nasty a$$ voice came out sounding pop. I was happy to hear they now have raspy voices.

Likewise, in the beginning DAW integration consisted of copy/paste and luck. Now with the updated bridge 2 things are starting to feel integrated. I also am lucky enough that my machine runs Turbo mode so the delays before rendering have come way down. I'm looking forward to the day though when rendering is instant... but that's a science problem, not ACE's.

So far as the editor goes, I have to confess there's not an editor anywhere that I like, but the ACE editor is as good as, if not better than, Vocaloid or Synthesizer V, so kudos on that front, too.

Overall, the marketing is a little too optimistic, but I've tried pretty much every vocal synth out there, and right now ACE is the place...

Very poor compared to some relatively unknown alternatives. Also doesn't clearly state that the monthly subscription is billed annually, therefore you cannot opt out after you decide that it's not for you.

All voices you generate are the same one voice.
Even custom trained voice is same one voice!
Tens if not hundred basic issues. Nothing really works.

The product doesn't work well and support is terrible. They only send you form letters.

Scam company, says $22/m but will charge you for a full year up front, avoid. They won't pay back my full refund even with the 7 days.

I am giving it a 3 star because it definitely has potential. Ignore the scam scares on here - the pricing model is upfront and easy to follow. It says clearly on the screen what you will be charged and when!

So onto the software.

My first try was a dropin vocal, convert to midi and try with their AI voices. It was actually very impressive indeed! The AI followed my vocalist perfectly! But then...what's the point of having AI follow a vocalist...just use the vocalist!

So then I tried it like their slick ads show...i.e. create a midi file, drop it into a vocal AI for the Da-Das and then type words.

Complete rubbish ensued. Truly. It is a tortuous process trying to get words pronounced properly. Don't believe ANY of those incredibly misleading advertising videos about how easy and awesome it is. Instead, be prepared to spend hours (and hours) just trying to get the simplest of melodies to work.

There is a youtube tutorial thing from an "independent" reviewer that also glosses over the issues and is pretty misleading. Fundamentally, you can get all the da-das perfect but the minute you try to get it to sing real words it is all over the place. The videos show copy paste of lyrics and instant perfect vocals...nonsense. Never happened once for me.

Another really annoying thing is that EVERY time you make a slight tweak to the vox, it has to render it again server-side. That all adds up to a lot of time wasted waiting for the server. It's very interrruptive.

Trust me - the product does work but not at all like the online vids or the blurb says it does.

I am gonna stick with it because it will likely improve over the lifespan and it is interesting (plus I have lots of time to mess about with it anyway). I also managed to finish a song (BVs only using AI) and that fooled almost everyone who heard it. Took me about a day tho!

I just felt compelled to write a review about the actual product rather than the pricing model which really isn't relevant. They are certainly not a scam company as far as I can tell. Just scrabbling for market share, hopefully to fund improvements!

None of the voices are actually native English speakers, so they all sound like someone doing an American accent. Plus, the vocals are badly recorded with phasing issues which sound weird and thin.

The price page doesn’t clearly state that the 100% refund guarantee only lasts 7 days, which is misleading. They also didn’t make it clear that I was signing up for the entire year.

Pretty shady!
