Very disappointing Acqua Garden UK …

Review of Acqua Garden UK online gardening products and service.

They broke the contract by being unable to supply the plants advertised. Their online communication was only via their website. No means for me to communicate with them where I had proof of correspondence and no email or telephone that I could find in order to make a “new contract”.

Then there was no reply to even that means of communication !! They made no contact via email or telephone to give notice of them breaking the contract. I only knew because of a note stuck to the plastic of some Nasturtium seedlings.

In hindsight, this was the only “bit” that seemed they seemed “slick” about.
Possibly because they were actually unavailable. I don’t actually have an explanation.

It made me wonder if it is a scam because communication was so noticeably absent and no sign of money being returned ….

They imposed upon me an “uninformed” one sided situation that aimed at placating but was actually “delaying” at best and at worst “selective incompetence” i.e. only for their own benefit ???

I don’t need or want Nasturtium seedlings. Nor do I need a dilemma forced upon me as I don’t want further inconvenience of having to return them since I’m only back in the UK for a break and am travelling. The seedlings were simply “left” and I was left to “lump it”. It’s “dressed as goodwill” … but comes without genuine consideration for the environment (transport and wasted plants) or customer service and experience.

Their web chat was not working for several days and they gave no reply to 2 messages on their webpage. A telephone number or responsive email could have prevented this recourse? Because customers don’t have an email receipt they have no proof of communication that they can “hold” and refer to. I did screenshot but you have to do multiple as the box only holds a few lines at a time.

I believe the company asked for my email for payment? Yet, I have had no return of my £38 + and I’m now having to resort to this and Trading Standards to try to get anywhere. Again it appears to me to be “selective” competence.

Just incase the company would like to improve customer experience, I hope they pass my experience to their customer service department. If they have one I’d be amazed !!

Appalling service.

We placed two orders with Acqua gardens…

We placed two orders with Acqua gardens in February,
most of the plants arrived reasonably quickly and well
packed. They also contacted us to inform us that the
other plants would arrive a few weeks later. We have now received all the plants and some complimentary
plants for the slight delay that occurred. The plants are
healthy were delivered by Royal Mail very safely.

I had a problem with an order, my own making. This company behaved admirably emailing me and rectifying my mistake. Well done, will definitely be ordering from them in the future.
