Unfortunately a spammer

This organization has undermined the clients they are taking money from and stopped me from activism for organizations I would normally support. I no longer give money either, due to the fact it populates my email account with so many emails from a plethora of other companies that I have nothing to do with. I consider them an organization that undermines liberal activism: an agent provocateur whether intentional or not.

I am also going to write to individual companies that I receive emails from and let them know I can not support them while they are associated with this company. I spend too much time unsubscribing that helping becomes a burden.

I'll stick with the gold standard of organizations (NRDC, etc). It's really too bad.

Global Block List

About every six month or so I’ve taken the time to email them asking to remove me from their mailing list. This has gone on for several years and the emails only multiply. I blocked Daily Kos because no amount of unsubscribing worked.
ActionNetwork (support at actionnetwork) always push back with this standard reply:
Hi there,
You can unsubscribe by clicking the unsubscribe link in the footer of emails you are sent (it will typically be the very last link in the email), and then clicking the unsubscribe confirmation button on the page that loads after your click. That's the best way for you to remove yourself from the list. You may need to scroll to be bottom of the page to see this button.

Note that you will continue to be resubscribed by taking actions, like signing petitions. Best to avoid taking action to prevent being resubscribed.

We are an opt-in only platform and do not sell or otherwise share your information with organizations using our services. Unsubscribing from each organization individually is the only way to remove yourself from each list, there is no master list.

Finally after a lengthy back and forth email chain where I sent the a screen shot of 8 emails from them plus 7 from Daily Kos the previous day I got them to add me (I hope) to a global block list. Will see if that works
This is what they said:

Hi there,
We can add you to a global block list which will prevent any Action Network partner from sending you emails. Note that there may be groups you do wish to hear from and you will not be able to receive emails from them if we add you to the block list. We will not remove you if either you or the group request this in the future. If you would still like to move forward with this, please reply with a confirmation that you would still like to be added to the block list and understand we will not remove you if you change your mind in the future.

Woke advocacy

You're asking a university to disregard thousands of years of ancient wisdom, on which they built their university, in order to make room for views that have been around for a few decades? The idea of pressuring faith groups to abandoned their beliefs to accommodate your foolish views is it's not only arrogant but irresponsible. You're not as smart as you might think. Quit pressuring others to abandon what you do not understand. You cannot force people who love God to abandon this God in order to accommodate those who disregard this God.

This company is a predatory spammer

This company is a predatory spammer. Once you either sign up for an account, or "take action" you will get endless spam. Unsubscribing to this endless spam is useless, you'll just get more spam. They claim they don't have a "master list" of emails, but that's an obvious lie, they probably have many smaller lists. If you try to login to delete you main account, you won't be able to, and the "forgot password" page is conveniently broken.
The way they get around the law, is that they don't send you the spam directly. They're a facilitator, using SendGrid under the account of the client using their services, so it never looks like it's coming from them. So far the best thing to do is filter our all email that has "Sent via ActionNetwork.org" and hope you don't catch some legitimate emails. Also, drop an email to abuse at sendgrid.com to report them.

There are Action Network petitions I…

There are Action Network petitions I would really like to sign and don't, because I know I'll be stuck with the tedious job of unsubscribing to dozens of email. This gives progressive organizations a bad name.

Spammer on Steroids!

If you sign a single petition from one of their partners, they will add you to hundreds of partners lists. This includes fundraising, action, etc... You will start receiving hundreds of emails daily from "partners" you never signed up for. When you sign a petition, they do not give you the option to opt-out of this. Then you have to start the very time-consuming process of unsubscribing from each partner individually. While they can mass add you to all the lists, they refuse to mass unsubscribe you from them! I had to delete a long time email over their spam and then I tested this by creating an email that I only used to sign a single petition they host and lo and behold, it started. This should be illegal! At the least, you should be able to uncheck a box that subscribes you to anyone. There should be 2, one for the nonprofit creator of a petition and one for "partners". But nope, they auto-subscribe you to everything with no opt-out available!

Trouble getting off their lists

I don't know how I got on so many email lists with this organization. There is only one I wanted to be on, and they had me on dozens. They also do not have an easy way to edit my list of subscriptions.
