Rock-solid DNS privacy that actually works (even with IPv6)

I’ve been using AdGuard DNS as a paid user for several years, and it’s one of the few privacy tools I trust enough to run at the network/DNS level for my entire home setup.

What stands out is how quietly effective it is. Once configured, it just works — blocking an enormous amount of trackers, telemetry, and ad-related domains before they ever reach your devices. No broken websites, no constant tweaking, no babysitting.

I run a fairly complex home network and use IPv6, which is where a lot of DNS and filtering solutions start to fall apart. AdGuard DNS has handled this cleanly and consistently, with clear stats and predictable behavior. Seeing how much background tracking gets stopped is honestly eye-opening.

If you care about privacy, performance, and not having your data vacuumed up by every app and website, AdGuard DNS is absolutely worth it. It’s simple enough for non-technical users, but solid enough for power users who actually look under the hood.

Excellent Service, but Missing a Key Feature!

Excellent Service, but Missing a Key Feature!
I've been using AdGuard DNS for a while now, and I must say, I'm genuinely impressed with how well their service operates. The blocking of ads and phishing websites works flawlessly across all my devices. It's fast, reliable, and noticeably improves the browsing experience by removing clutter and enhancing security. Setup on my Keenetic router was straightforward, and everything works perfectly there. I highly recommend the combination of Keenetic routers and AdGuard DNS!

However, there is a significant "but"... The lack of official support for pfSense is a major drawback for me. Currently, OPNsense has the functionality to integrate with AdGuard DNS, and it works great. I would be absolutely thrilled and would recommend AdGuard DNS to everyone without reservation if they would implement official support or provide clear guidance for pfSense in the near future.

To the AdGuard team: Please consider adding pfSense compatibility! It would make your already fantastic service complete for a much wider audience of home lab enthusiasts and power users.
Summary:
Pros: Super effective ad and phishing blocking, reliable servers, easy setup on consumer routers (like Keenetic).
Cons: No official support or easy integration method for pfSense (while competitor OPNsense has it).
Verdict: Highly recommended, but its potential would be fully unlocked with pfSense support.

A little too agressive

I like it . It does a great job with blocking ads and trackers. However it seems to be overly aggressive in blocking certain things that it really should be allowing. I'm currently using the public servers with ad and tracker blocking. But I've run into issues with several online payments at several sites (Some of my doctors, my utility company, etc,). Either the payment portion of the site (probably hosted by the payment processing vendor) either doesn't load, or will not let me complete the payment process. It will get to the point where I click submit and it just sits there doing nothing. I can switch my DNS to something like Google or OpenDNS, flush my DNS cache and it works just fine. For a while the "Speed Dial" links in Vivaldi would not work but that appears to be resolved. I want to keep using it, but I'm not going to go through all of that switching back and forth just to pay my bills.

Thank you for your feedback. If you experience issues with services while using public AdGuard DNS, please report them to support@adguard-dns.io so our team can investigate. If you use AdGuard Personal DNS, however, you can whitelist domains directly via the query log to allow them to work.

Switched from NextDNS and haven't looked back

I use AdGuard every day. Their DNS is fast and reliable. I love how they include popular blocklists, such as Hagezi, into their server settings. This is a great service to protect you and your loved ones from scammers and privacy invading trackers. The customer service is great and the company is always innovating. I'm really excited to see what they have in store for the future. I also have had a great experience with all of their other products. Keep doing what you're doing AdGuard! You guys are awesome!
