Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Looking at 150 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many customers found the customer service to be unhelpful and difficult to access, often reporting issues with unknowledgeable representatives, missed calls, and automated responses that offered no real solutions. People frequently encountered problems with campaign management, including ads being rejected for unclear reasons, campaigns not running, and unauthorized spending. Reviewers also expressed significant dissatisfaction with promotional offers and credits, often finding them misleading or difficult to claim, leading to unexpected charges. Some people also felt that the platform's pricing was excessive, with costs per click increasing unexpectedly and budgets being wasted on ineffective advertising. Additionally, a few customers reported issues with transactions and account security, with support being unresponsive or denying responsibility for the charges.

I had a promotion on youtube for 50 euro, google ads charged me 2 times for 1 transaction so i deducted one transaction back. Now they set my bank account as "bank closed" and i cant use google ads anymore. I do not have an alternative bankmethode.

Im mailing for almost 3 week started with someone who is called lucy she said she would call me back but didnt. Now talking for weeks with someone called Mawusi, the guy dont read at all just talks about other things that got nothing to do with my problem. Then i called an spoke to someone called Justine Vertessen and she said she would help me but never heard from her again.

Google ads helpdesk doesnt help you at all, these people suck bigtime just saying random stuff that doesnt help at all. Making promises that they dont keep. They really make you mad with their incompetence. Horrible people

Unhelpful you pay for a add that you…

Unhelpful you pay for a add that you have no control over, all they want to do is take your money, and make it as difficult as possible for you to run a business, it’s about time the monopoly of Google ads was stopped. And sort out working for people that pay you and get a decent customer service that actually helps customers

Impossible to pay. No costumer service whatsoever

I want to pay and am trying to for quite some time.
IMPOSSIBLE.

First I told my creditcard company to get my money back (Google took too much i.m.o.). Now I must pay, but it's impossible, since I don't have a creditcard anymore. I tried it for 5 or 6 times and every time I bumb into a wall.

Makes me angry.
It's about a small amount, but any day they can raise this amount and probably ask me to pay again at the very same impossible way.

Advertisements didn't reach anything. But for me that's a risk. This, paying, should be very simple.

Also impossible to contact someone. Some robot is telling you the very thing that's not working. Something with rights (which cannot be changed)

Just give me a bankaccount number and some numbers I should put in the transaction.
A bankaccount is not even available (also a weird story). So I cannot take apotheek route.
All with one goal: to make it as easy as possible for themselves.
P.s. when I make objection (bezwaar) I encounter the same problem.

Google when you read this: contact me please for the solution.
I am really tired of this and I don't have a way out. Provide me with one. I am a client who wants to pay. This shouldn't be hard.

Here's a tip

Here's a tip: whatever suggestion google ads sends your way, is a tip of what NOT to do! You would need to know everything on your own so you can defeat your biggest enemy i.e. Google ads iteself.

The suggestions are there only to make you spend more, period! The last thing the suggestions or the experts want is better results for you.

And, be prepared to unlearn what you know and relearn everything from scratch, becuase in the past 5 years of running google ads, I've learned they come after everything that actually works and remove that and replace it with something no one needs. Changing the whole interface along with it.

Bonus credit not given

They offered £400 credit after spending £400 in two months, but month three comes along and the promotional code is just pending while they continue to charge. A third party consultant encouraged me to add 50% extra to the daily spend at the same time and created stock footage videos which needed to train their AI so I was told not to turn the ads off. Credit isn’t given automatically and there appears to be a team behind the scenes checking terms to find some way not to give it while they charge you extra. They acknowledged I had spent enough but did not want to give me the promised credit.

Google promises a $1800 ad credit

Google promises a $1800 ad credit. Spend over $3600 within the promo period only to be refused the ad credit. There advertising for this promotion is misleading. I need a refund from Google! They should stop taking advantage of small businesses by collecting a Google TAX! This advertising MONOPOLY needs to be broken up!

Formal Complaint

Formal Complaint – Mishandled Campaign & Security Concern

I was assigned a representative through official Google Ads support who helped me set up my campaign. He accessed my account, guided me, and all changes were made under his direction.

Now, I’m being told “he wasn’t from Google” — this is not just unacceptable, it’s a serious privacy and accountability issue.

I lost time, money, and trust. I have full documentation and will escalate this publicly and legally if it’s not resolved.

I spent over 2 weeks trying to get my…

I spent over 2 weeks trying to get my Google Ads campaign running — and it ended in total frustration, wasted time, and a complete loss of trust in the system.

1. My domain was verified with the correct HTML file and DNS setup, yet the system kept saying “not verified” for days.
2. The most serious issue: I was blocked from managing or removing my own payment card, despite being the Billing Admin and Primary Contact. This made me feel like I had lost control of my own finances.
3. My campaign was suddenly disapproved even after I followed the policy guidelines.
4. I made a manual top-up of MYR50, but somehow the system charged me MYR69.06. There is no clear breakdown or record of what I’m being charged for.
5. Even when my ad was active, I received over 1,000 impressions and multiple clicks, but not a single conversion. It’s as if the campaign was being shown to irrelevant or unqualified traffic.
6. The support system is extremely frustrating. It takes days just to get one response, and even that doesn’t help at all. Google Ads seriously needs to improve its support — don’t rely on email replies alone. There must be real, accessible human support. This is what happens when a dominant system becomes too hard to work with — there’s no accountability, and no cooperation for small users.

I felt scammed — not because I didn’t want to pay, but because I had no control or transparency. I have since blocked my card permanently and I refuse to update any payment method unless Google fixes its support and billing system.

All the money I spent on Google Ads gave me absolutely no results. Not a single customer. Not even one proper lead. It felt like I was just burning money into a system that doesn’t care.

If Google takes this feedback seriously, I urge them to escalate this to the Google Ads product and billing teams. This is beyond broken.

Been with Google Ads for ten years but my account was hacked. According to Google there is nothing wrong with my account even though the Primary User changed on the 14th April 2025. I raised it with Puneet in an Indian Call Centre and he tells me that the person who hacked my account has been associated with my company since 2008. Absolutely crazy, Under Subject Access Rules I've asked for the details going back to 2008 where he is the Primary Account Holder. He now gets my emails from Google with financial data on it so I've had to close my account to stop it.

Wish there was negative ratings I could give.
On one hand the most advance technological company and on the other the most bureaucratic, unfriendly and lacking of any common sense company. Hope there monopoly ends soon so they can start to behave and give value to the customers.
It's a money making machine with no regards to customers.

The representatives don't speak fluent English.

The representatives don't listen. They push you through the process without teaching. The phone lines cut out repeatedly and the representatives don't speak fluent english. I tried to get a representative from the US multiple times, but I got caught in the support loop I keep reading about.

Bad and horrible service with Google 3…

Bad and horrible service with Google 3 months trying to run an add all the add get disapproves their customer service very horrible to get you answer its take them 3 to 5 days or weeks or months to find a solution about the issue. You ask them question they don't know the answer they have to be asking another team for the answers or get back to you in 5 more days for somehting that can be fix in 1 to 2 business days. The also will charge you credit without even provided you the service and even if you still have a balance without use with them it's a messed of a company and they seem to not care. They charge me $300 for the first month never gave me the service then they charge me another $300 for the second month and now we are up to the third month and still the ads haven't been approved and I ask them for a refound and they denied the refound and I you write email to their team for the refound and no one is following up I had to call my bank to be able to get my $600 dollars back and I'm already not doing any business with this company they are very difficult to work with and don't have time to help customers and fix the problems once since for all it takes them weeks and months to fix a simple issue and no straight answers and solution on how to fix the problem their team is not knowledgeable at all and they are just improvising and jumping from one customer to the other in a rush and booking calls for another day or week.
