Advanced heating & plumbing ltd 

I have an air heating system, which many companies will flatly refuse to get involved with, so I was glad to find Advanced Heating, who have expertise in these. The engineer who visited, Andrew, is a skilled professional who fixed a tricky fault with great lateral thinking and determination. Much appreciated!

Andrew was really knowledgeable and friendly, immediately identified the source of the issue (two leaks from a heating cylinder pipe) and worked on that and some other burgeoning faults, stayed for around three hours.

First the positives: our oil-fired boiler stopped working on Friday. We called AHP on Sunday and they were able to send an engineer out the same day. He spent around 15 minutes inspecting the boiler and advised that it was beyond repair and needed to be replaced. He said he would check availability and provide a quote on Monday - which he did. He quoted just under £5,000 and said the work could be carried out Wednesday (which was good as this was the week before Christmas).

Now the negatives: I had priced the boiler online at around £2,500 so the quote seemed high. I called our regular engineer who recognised the fault (frozen pipe causing back up of condensate drain). He said it should be possible to repair. He came out a few hours later and after a few hours and a few new parts, the old boiler was working properly again. He also confirmed that a new boiler would cost around £2,5000 and with parts and labour the full installation should cost around £3,500. I notified AHP we didn't need a new boiler. They replied that I still owed them £120+VAT for their call out fee - that is £120+VAT to be advised incorrectly that my boiler was beyond repair and given the opportunity to spend £5,000 with them on a new boiler that I did not need.

I can't actually begin to express my gratitude to this company. After being left for nearly a month by another company without heating for my elderly(although she hates it when I call her that) mother this company saved the day, and my mum from freezing. I called and explained what had happened and my mums age and they came out the same day, keeping both myself and her fully updated with exact times and got her heat back on with a couple of hours, and also found that no parts were needed as the other company had claimed. They were polite and helpful at all times. Brilliant.

the engineer said that the boiler requires deep clean every three years and said he would charge £20 for just lookin and send quote for extensive work. I checked with another gas engineer who confirmed this is not required and unnecessary, I have had the boiler serviced with no such work. The invoice sent was for £36 not £20 as he stated. He also did another boiler and stated extensive work required. that has also been done for service and adjustments not requiring any such extensive work. He seems to have been charging and quoting for extensive work which is not required or recommended

Andrew responded on a Sunday ti check domestic oven, carried out full check and made repair. First class service.

I recently repaired a van that Andrew had damaged accidentally belonging to one of his clients . He wasted no time getting the van to me to be repaired as he didn't want to inconvenience his client more then needed. He was very professional in getting his clients van sorted and was a pleasure to work with. Very reliable and highly recommended.

Andrew has done alot of jobs for us over the years and has always been professional. He always explains what he is doing to site and keeps everyone updated. Would definately recommend.

Had a gas leak. And had my supply cut of by transo. I phoned advance as I have a small child and told them it was an emergency. The engineer turned up within the hour. Repairing the leak and reinstated my gas supply. Very friendly guy name Andrew made me feel at ease and did the work in a good amount of time. Feel I would recommend this company to my friends and family. As I was very satisfied with the service. 10 out 10

Reliable service. Great communication. Andrew kept me informed, talked me through each step he was doing, immersion heater sorted quickly and efficiently and I now have hot water again! Would definitely recommend 😊

Andywas very knowledgeable and charming man. He gave some very good advise and gave a competitive quote. Andy arrived promptly and carried out the install as agreed. He then registered the boiler and left me with a detailed account of how the new boiler system worked I will definitely be using Andy for more work in the future
