Divorce Mediation

Kieran was honestly amazing throughout our mediation. She really took the time to listen not just to respond, but to truly understand both sides and made sure we both felt heard and respected.

She was extremely thorough and made great use of our time. The agreements she helped us put together were well-written, detailed, and honestly better than we expected. You can tell she really cares about doing things the right way.

What could have been a really stressful and overwhelming situation felt much more manageable because of her. She helped ease a lot of the tension, kept communication open, and never made either of us feel pressured into decisions we weren’t ready for.

Because of her, we were able to walk away with a plan that works for both of us and most importantly, for our children. It’s something we can both feel proud of. All signed, completed and filed within hours.

I also want to thank AEP Mediation & Notary Services and Jancy for being so fast and efficient in scheduling our mediation. The whole process was smooth from start to finish, and that made a big difference.

I would absolutely recommend Kieran and the AEP team to anyone going through mediation. They made a tough situation so much easier, and we’re really grateful for that.

Very poorly organized mediation

Very poorly organized mediation. Mediator was way out of her league. She allowed another party to participate that was not named in the initial mediation application. The mediator provided significantly more time to the opposing party. The mediator was too inexperienced to perform well. It was a waste of money and time! The mediator did not use proper titles to address all parties in the mediation report, which was disrespectful and insulting!

Dr. Morrill,
I am a little disappointed that you didn't respond to me when I reached out about your Mediation Report complaint. The mediator always uses the case style and names used in the court record, as your mediator did in this case. I now understand you wanted parties to refer to you as Doctor Morrill during mediation, but you filled out the form, when asked for your full name without that reference; you never corrected me when we communicated electronically and I referred to you as Mr. Morrill; you never mentioned that title prior to mediation; the court record does not reflect Dr. Morrill. For these reasons, the mediator added your name as you completed it and as the court record displays it. The Mediation Report is submitted to the court, so it is completed not per preference, but according to court record. But, if you had responded to my inquiry with what you were specifically unhappy with, in regards to the report, I would not have had an issue making an exception and revising the Report to reference you as attendee Dr. David Morrill, without hesitation. Titles are not easily come by, and I know it takes a lot of work and dedication to achieve holding your title. We do respect you, and your position, but the mediator was just following standard protocol and not in any way trying to discredit you or offend you.

Now, when you say the mediation was not organized well, that confuses me personally, as I coordinated it, and everything was set up to your liking without hiccup. I'm not entirely clear as to what you are referencing when making that statement, so i can't apologize or clarify, as this is my first time hearing you were not satisfied with how it was organized.

As for the additional party attending on the other side, it was a surprise and was not aligned with the planned attendees, but as that person was the opposing party's counsel on record, we have no power to exclude them from attending. Inconvenient, yes; but the other party was entitled to have her counsel present.

I am not aware of all that happened during mediation, but I know my mediator is qualified to do the work, and has not ever shown an issue with bias, in the past.

I am sorry you feel your mediation experience was not satisfactory, but really wish you gave me some feedback after your session, or an opportunity to address any concerns you had prior to leaving this review.

Sincerely,
Jancy Libowitz

I am very satisfied with being able to…

I am very satisfied with being able to have a mediator and to finally be able to put my case to rest after coming to an agreement with the opposing party. Mr. Scott Brand was very professional and neutral. He helped ease my mind into going into a mediation (I've never had to do this before). He made the process very simple for both parties and in the end, we were able to come to an agreement. Something I've been waiting on for 2 years now. The cost of services were VERY fair. The total cost for both parties combined was reasonable. Compared to other mediators that were trying to charge waaaay more and that's just for one party. The mediator team stayed in contact with me and the defendant until the day of mediation and answered all my questions. Hopefully I never need a mediator again but if I do, I'll be using this company again. Thank you.
