I booked a consultation at Aestha…
I booked a consultation at Aestha Clinic on the condition that I’d be seen by a practitioner with experience treating Black skin. I was assured this would be accommodated. What I received instead was a 90-minute consultation that completely ignored my medical history, Fitzpatrick skin type, and current skincare (including recent use of 0.1% tretinoin — with a visible rash).
No one asked about my routine or conducted a proper barrier assessment. I repeatedly stated I did not want filler, yet was recommended Neauvia, which was falsely presented as a collagen stimulator. When questioned, the practitioner couldn’t explain what it was — I later confirmed it’s an HA filler with limited biostimulant function.
The consultation felt heavily product-led, with risks overstated for some treatments and others suggested without clear rationale. As a patient of colour, I had to challenge basic generalisations about ageing, and I left with no clear treatment hierarchy or prioritisation.
Aestha refused to refund the consultation, despite failing to deliver the culturally competent, clinically rigorous advice they promised. I would not recommend this clinic for anyone with darker skin tones or for those seeking honest, medically grounded aesthetic planning.
