Although I was very happy to see where maternally I am from, I was expecting more detail. At least a binder with the breakdown of the origin and traits of my people. I receive more detail on ancestry.com and 23 and me combined for a third of the price. Here, I paid $300 and received a certificate, and a one page letter. On the smooth jazz cruise the patrons were to believe that we would receive as much as the presentation that was given (minus the fan and T-shirt). I literally had to go on Wikipedia to find out more about my people.

You just missed 5 stars with me because of shipping snafus. Also still waiting for the complimentary certificates for the inconvenience. You finally made it right and I'm very pleased with the results of the test. Personally I think the world of what Dr Paige and Dr Kittles have accomplished. Seriously considering to take the matriclan test and see where it leads.

Some misunderstanding but worked it out; however would like to see more interactions as far as updates for all clients. Thanks

I was pleased with the quality of service that was provided by the organization, and have recommended them to family.

I placed a order and they sent me another persons results.
Then a few days later I got the correct results.
A few years later I ordered a copy of my results and they sent me another package of someone else's DNA test, when I called they apologized and said they would send the correct package and sent nothing for 4 months and counting.

I had a wonderful experience with African ancestry. They are truly the best way to finding your roots and the dedication to their mission and their commitment to people of African descent is unwavering. Dr. Rick Kittles and Gina Paige will go down in history as two jewels to the African community.

Results sent back in a timely fashion. I appreciate the hard work and time put in to make sure everything is accurate. I can’t wait to see where I come from on my paternal side now!

The experience was great, however more could be done to manage expectations for how long it takes between submission and results.

Now I know where my mother and I originated, Sierra Leon. Collecting the samples was easy as well as mailing them. The response time was in the estimated window provided by the compatible. I would recommend this company to anyone interested in finding out where they come from.

Although my husband is African American, we learned that he is 25% Portuguese! We were not happy with the length of time it took it get the results - it took 3 months! But the answer we got helped provide a picture of my husband's paternal ancestry and explained why his paternal grandfather did not look African American. If it wasn't so expensive, we would get the other three tests done. Maybe sometime in the future....

a really great service, i have recommended to many friends

Well since I haven’t received any results I will withhold judgment.

Results took over 8 weeks and came back very vague. "Portugal or Spain" were my results. No other details were given for two different countries.

This service was the most expensive of all DNA companies and gave the least amount of information. Sad to say, i feel like my $300 was wasted.
