A wonderful experience in Southern Africa

Excellent itinerary in Namibia arranged by Anna. Stunning scenery and landscapes. Plenty of wildlife as well. Everything from international and local flights and car hire all organised very well without any stress.

Our second trip to Southern Africa with Okovangadelta.com. Cannot recommend both Anna and Louise highly enough.

Fabulous Safari Experience in the Delta and Beyond

We returned from an incredible trip in South Africa, Zimbabwe and Botswana. The guest houses and safari camps were as described. My favorites were Kings Camp and Jack's Camp, but all were unique and enjoyable.

If I could make one change, it would be to skip Chobe River (and Chobe Game Lodge) all together. Compared to our other accommodations, this was large and seemed to cater to mainstream tour groups. November timing contributed to this at this camp only as the elephants were no longer at the water and had gone further inland. No off roading allowed so sitings were challenging.

Leeu House in Wine Country was elegant, yet relaxed. Stanley and Livingstone in Vic Falls, and Shinde and Kana camps were wonderful - very comfortable and wonderful activities. We especially enjoyed the mokoro and the sunset boat ride. Great animal sightings in all locations - elephants, leopard, lions, including cubs.

All transfers were smooth. We had absolutely no issues with any. Considering the number that had to be organized, I thought this was particularly well executed.

Anna (our travel consultant) was patient, answered my many questions and provided sound advice on all details of the trip.

I would not hesitate to use Okvango Delta Explorations for another journey!

Rwanda, Mara River and Serengeti

Our family had a wonderful experience organised by Louise at African Safari Tours whose attention to detail, in-country knowledge and evident passion made our trip special.
1. Rwanda was a revelation: direct flight to Kigali from London on Rwanda Air was very comfortable. One day in Kigali (genocide museum was a humbling experience) and thereafter a 3 hour drive to the spectacular Virunga Lodge from which base we had two day trips to visit a Gorilla family in the mountains: we would recommend 2 day trips in order to fully soak up the wonderment: silverbacks, mothers and babies and all ages in between within a couple of metres of you and sometimes brushing past you: extraordinary privilege. The local people we met were so very welcoming and friendly.
2. short flight across to Tanzania and the (temporary but truly beautiful with great accommodation, food and first rate staff) Olakira Camp on the river Mara. This was Wildebeest migration season and we saw some (epic) small crossings but, most importantly, had time to study the psychology of wildebeest herds which is mind boggling : we resolved to come back a little earlier (perhaps late August) in order to see some bigger groups. The river Mara is mesmerising: full of life.
3. A very short flight took us to the Serengeti and Namiri Plains Camp which is sublime: a pampered end to our trip. From Namiri Plains the safari trips go out into endless plains with huge skies: in this relative wilderness, big cats abound and we saw several lion families, cheetahs and leopards including their kills and, in some cases, witnessed their attempted kills.
Returned from Kilimanjaro to London on Ethiopian Airlines via Addis with a host of memories.

Panoramic landscapes with diverse wildlife

The itinerary was perfect. It covered everything we wanted to view and do in Namibia. From the Namib Desert to the Deadvlei, climbing tall sand dunes, balloon safari over the desert, Sandwich Harbour and finally the anima sightings in Ongava and Etosha. The lodges were spectacular in terms of service, food and activities.
Anna organised our trip in great detail and we have come back with so many wonderful memories to share with family and friends.

Fabulous Family Safari - Rapidly and Well Constructed!

We have just returned from a wonderful family safari that African Safari Tours organised. I am still not entirely sure how it all came together. I think most people plan these momentous trips many months (years perhaps) in advance. Given circumstances, we tried to see if it were possible to rapidly pull a trip together a couple of weeks prior to flying out.

We connected with Louise and team with a blank slate. We were willing to go wherever required to have a great experience and, if we had left it too late, we just wanted to know that as well.

What the team created was fabulous and incredibly efficient. We spoke to them and got a sense of what our options were with respect to location/country given the time of year and our budget (not extravagant).

They quickly helped us narrow it down to Keyna and then produced a plan with 3 different places all of which offered wonderful and unique experiences. We had two different safari locations/topographies where we had great viewings and ended on a Dhow (old style boat) on the coast.

The trip was fabulous, which is a testament to 1) their broad knowledge of the continent and 2) their specific knowledge of the camps/experiences and the people/guides at the locations.

I really never thought we were going to end up going on the trip because I thought the ask was going to be difficult to fulfil in a way that could be a great holiday. Louise and team managed to do it and we were able to have an incredibly memorable trip as a family

Many thanks to the team and African Safari Tours!!
