We just finished 2weeks tour of Ghana, Togo and Benin with African star tour. Everything went perfect: hotels were great, all meals were included, SUV car was great, driver was very experienced, guide-Oscar was best, took care of anything and everything in timely manner. We have recently returned from an amazing trip organised by African Star Tours, travelling around the Western Cape of South Africa.
Without doubt, this is the best holiday we have ever had!
Sarah's planning was meticulous. The attention to detail, listening to what we wanted to include, and making personal recommendations based on her own in depth experience. Nothing was too much trouble. Every little detail was covered and the itinerary was spot on! So much so that we are looking to book with African Star Tours again in 2027.

What a fantastic time we all had on this holiday, working with Sarah to plan this holiday and her support given during our trip was amazing. It was a holiday we will never forget and is up there with one of our top most favourite experiences ever, the close encounters with the animals were just incredible and we were really sad to leave. So much so, we would do another safari experience at the drop of a hat again in the future. We would highly recommend this company to anyone wishing to have the same amazing time that we had without hesitation.

Having booked with African Star Tours previously, I didn't hesitate in contacting Sarah once again when deciding to visit West Africa for the first time. As a lone traveller, I joined the small group tour, which on this occasion was an accompanied tour.
The itinerary throughout the 10 days was varied, with culture and history mixed in with relaxation on the beach. The service provided by African Star Tours was of exceptionally high quality and having the same driver and Guide throughout the tour made me feel very safe and relaxed when visiting the towns and villages.
I enjoyed trying the West African food, although this was a little spicy for me on occasion. For me, the highlights of the trip were the visit to the National Railway museum in Freetown and seeing the stunning views throughout the journey to Kabala. A couple of days of relaxation back in Freetown was the perfect end to the trip.

I would happily recommend African Star Tours to my family and friends when looking to visit Africa and will certainly be using the company again in the future.

My partner and I are very well travelled and invariably organise our trips ourselves. For our first safari trip however, we felt we needed some help as there were simply too many decisions to make for which we didn’t feel we had the required level of knowledge or insight. So feeling somewhat daunted by it all we decided to look for some help!

We chose African Star Tours after meeting Sarah at the Destinations Travel Show in London. Unlike the larger companies that were also exhibiting, we really liked the personal feel to our engagement with Sarah: she had obviously travelled extensively in Africa and was able to answer all of our immediate questions with ease, which was a clear sign that she knew what she was talking about. We also really liked her and felt she was someone we could work with on planning our next big adventure!

The service provided by African Star Tours was faultless. Through a combination of Zoom calls and email exchanges, Sarah spent time listening to our questions, understanding our half-formed ideas, providing suggestions for us to consider, and then iterating the itinerary until we had something that we were happy to commit to. Throughout the process the service delivered by African Star Tours was fast, informed, and transparent (the upsides as well as the downsides of different options were made clear to us so that we could make informed choices). It was hugely reassuring that Sarah was able to talk about the vast majority of locations and lodges from her own first hand personal experience of them.

We are just back from our trip now (three different safari areas in Kenya followed by a wonderful stay in a fabulous hotel in Zanzibar) and are happy to report that we had an absolutely amazing trip. The logistics all worked faultlessly, the lodges were amazing, and our safari guide was absolutely brilliant. It was also really nice that Sarah kept in touch during our trip, taking an active interest in how it was all going .. exactly the sort of personal touch that attracted us to African Star Tours in the first place 😊

Thank you Sarah for this unforgettable trip to Namibia. Our big group of 21 cannot praise you enough. Your attention to detail in the planning and pre-departure stage was the best I have seen among various travel agents I have dealt with. The personalised touches - personalised itinerary and the presents - were much appreciated. The itinerary was spot on and the accommodations (we only opted for mid range) were more than what we expected! The local tour company and the driver/guides who accompanied us were so professional, knowledgeable and helpful. Truly a trip to remember!

We have recently returned from a Five Park Private Kenya Safari which was organised for us by African Star Tours. The trip was absolutely brilliant as was the great deal of reassuring advice and support provided to us throughout by Sarah from African Star Tours. We would have no hesitation in recommending African Star Tours and Sarah to anyone including those who, like us, had no personal experience or knowledge to draw upon.

At the outset of our research the internet came up with a large number of agencies, some based in Africa and others based in the UK. They offered a variety of trips in a variety of countries and, at one stage, we were in contact with several.

We were somewhat rattled when one of the Africa based agencies suddenly went out of business without prior warning. We therefore decided to opt for one based in the UK (African Star Tours) and as such operates within the UK regulatory framework regarding international money transfers. Furthermore if you use African Star Tours to arrange flights in addition to the accommodation and internal travel, the combined package qualifies for ATOL protection (and it is one less detail to bother with).

Although based in the UK, Sarah regularly spends time in Africa and has extensive personal experience of all of the accommodation and services that you will have available to you in Africa. These included the Nairobi based tour operator which she engaged to look after us and our very detailed itinerary from arriving at Nairobi Airport right through to dropping us off at the airport a couple of fun packed weeks later.

As a postscript, everything ran smoothly and the local tour operator turned out to be a long established and thoroughly reputable organisation. However we were grateful for the added piece of mind that we got from dealing via a UK company, besides which Sarah from African Star Tours provided much appreciated and great local knowledge, friendly help and efficient administration.

Sarah and her team carefully tailor made our honeymoon based on really vague instructions and what a job they did! We had an amazing time relaxing in vineyards, exploring cities and spotting (many) animals on safari. All the accommodation was fantastic, particularly Old Drift Lodge, Zimbabwe…WOW! Our guides were fantastic everywhere we went!

We have been fortunate enough to undertake several trips to Africa and were looking for an independent travel company that could "add value" to our knowledge and help us develop a package of safari's and Victoria Falls.
We were instantly impressed with Sarahs detailed knowledge of camps and felt very comfortable developing our trip with her.
As someone who normally develops trips independently I was impressed with Sarahs crafting of the package blending our wishes and her experience.

We wanted to make a change mid-trip to our transfers and Sarah acted on this promptly and expertly.

We will travel again with Sarah and would unreservedly recommend Star Africa to all of our friend and fellow travellers.

I recently had the pleasure of embarking on an incredible journey through three amazing countries. Each day was packed with full-on activities, immersing us in the rich cultures and vibrant communities of each destination. From the bustling markets to the serene countryside, we had the chance to see community life up close, watch skilled craftspeople at work, and enjoy a multitude of unique experiences - like a tree canopy walk, fantasy coffins, stingless bees!
A particularly sobering yet important part of the trip was being reminded of the transatlantic slave trade and visiting memorial sites in both Ghana and Benin. While it was sad to remember these horrendous times, it was crucial to pay our respects and learn more of the history.
Trying the local food was a highlight of the trip, with each country offering its own diverse cuisine. The fish was amazing, and the Chicken light soup and Fou Fou eaten with fingers – the best! 😊 The beer was good too! We stayed in good accommodations throughout, ensuring we were always safe and comfortable, ready for the next day's adventures. The digital travel plan (which you can view offline) provided by African Star Tours was a brilliant addition, serving as a handy reminder of our daily activities and hotel details.
One of the standout aspects of the trip was having the same driver and guide throughout. They were both awesome, making us feel 100% safe not just on the road but also when visiting towns and villages. Their knowledge and friendliness added so much to the holiday experience. The minibus was really comfortable, and even though we had some longer days traveling, it was always great to just watch the country go by!
Even the unexpected challenge of crossing the Togo border couldn't ruin the trip – it just added to the adventure! Overall, it was an extremely well-thought-out trip, with lots of adventures, laughs, special memories and photos!! I highly recommend – thank you African Star Tours! Now where to next? :-)

As my first time on safari I can’t thank you enough for your advice and organising a trip of a lifetime. Not knowing what to expect I felt reassured everything was booked and planned from being collected at the airport we didn’t have to worry about a thing the whole time as everything was sorted. The safari guide was so knowledgable with amazing driving skills to find the best spot to view and take pictures of all the wonderful wildlife. We stayed in Amboseli, Tsavo West, Tsavo East and Diani beach with a friendly and welcome greeting at all places. We got to enjoy all the wonderful landscapes Kenya has to offer. The food was also great. We couldn’t ask for more it was a trip of a lifetime we have great photos and very special memories.

I had an amazing trip to Botswana, Sarah was knowledgeable and friendly and quick to respond to emails, adjusting my trip to fit my budget. I did a mobile camping safari followed by a few nights in a lodge. The mobile camping was an incredible experience, I can’t recommend it enough. The lodge was amazing - small and friendly and great for me as a solo traveler. Everyone I met during my trip - the guides, the camp crew, the staff at the lodge were wonderful. Botswana is a beautiful country with amazing wildlife. If you’re thinking of going I highly recommend African Star Tours.

I had an excellent recent trip to Uganda to mainly see the Mountain Gorillas and Chimpanzee trek but Uganda has so much more to offer . Our tour guide David was fantastic with nothing too much trouble . We tasted local food in local restaurants for example and he included extra items on our itinerary that we requested such as a visit to the Pangolin centre and cultural visit to the Batwa tribe. The Ugandan people are so happy and friendly. The wildlife is simply stunning and we even got to see 2 Shoebill birds. The support from Sarah was excellent from the start to the finish. She included several zoom calls to support us. Highly recommend this company . Africa has everything. Go !

African Star tours arranged our honeymoon for us in August 2023, and I am so glad we did! I approached Sarah with a list of dream locations and activities, as well as a list of tight requirements both in logistics, and timings. Furthermore I wanted to plan the trip as a complete surprise to my then-fiancée. Sarah took all these requirements on, and built us the most incredible honeymoon with ease. Even when I needed to change the itinerary, Sarah was very accommodating and updated the itinerary quickly and without fuss.

During the planning phase, I met wth Sarah to discuss our itinerary, and she provided fantastic tips about when to splurge, when to save, and gave me so many invaluable tips from her own personal experiences in South Africa. She then built us the dream Honeymoon, and made everything super easy. Sarah stayed in contact in the lead up to our holiday, always answering my many questions quickly. Sarah further helped us by explaining Mozambique's visa system and diligently working out what we needed to do and when, even raising enquiries to confirm the impact of new legislation changing the visa system.

The hotels and lodges Sarah found for us were dreamy, and everything we could want on our honeymoon. All of the tours and transfers worked perfectly and we were very well looked after from arrival in Cape Town to departing Maputo. A true credit to Sarah's excellent recommendations and insight. Seeing the big 5 (though no leopards) on safari was a memory I will cherish forever - we were certainly very lucky with our guide from the Safari lodge, again a benefit of Sarah's knowledge of places to stay inside Kruger National Park.

Sarah stayed in contact with us whilst we were on tour, and came to our aid immediately when we met issue with one of the hotel transfers; within a few hours, Sarah had arranged us an alternative private transfer that fixed our problem - no easy feat as it required coordinating a private boat, and private taxi transfer.

As a couple whom hasn't travelled to Africa previously, I initially had quite a few anxieties, however Sarah sorted absolutely everything, and made it a truly blissful experience for an unforgettable honeymoon. If you're considering Africa for a holiday, I cannot recommend African Star Tours highly enough; we will be back I'm sure!

We had the most amazing trip, all planned meticulously by Sarah. Fabulous accommodation, an incredible itinerary and breath-taking adventures. And most importantly (especially when travelling with children) throughout the trip we felt safe and secure. I cannot recommend Sarah's expertise and professionalism highly enough. Wonderful trip with excellent guide who was very knowledgeable regarding all we saw. The safaris were really good and we saw lots of animals including leopard and cheetah, lots of elephants and lions. Highly recommended.

I have just returned from my 2nd trip to Africa, booked though African Star Tours, having also used them in 2019. The service we received from Sarah, and her in-depth knowledge of the countries we visited was superb. Using her knowledge and personal experiences, Sarah was able to recommend the best places for us to visit within our budget and the lodges were simply stunning. You do not receive this personal knowledge when booking through larger agencies or by searching the internet. We had to delay this trip by 12 months due to covid but African Star Tours sorted everything for us, with no problem at all. I highly recommend African Star Tours for anyone looking to visit Africa and I will certainly be contacting Sarah again in the future. We received 5 star service.

Have used African Star Tours twice now. I have travelled extensively in my 20s and 30s and wanted a more personal bespoke service but without breaking the bank. Have to say African Star Tours ticked all my boxes. All my queries were answered in a friendly, polite and knowelegable way. Sarah has a wealth of knowledge about the country and if she doesn't know she knows someone who does. The drivers, lodges and local guides I've had were amazing. Above all in my 2 trips I have felt I've had 5 star treatment and service although I don't have a 5 star budget. Cannot recommend this company enough.
