I really wanted to like them
I really wanted to like them, especially after my first experience, which went absolutely smoothly, so I kept giving them many chances. Sadly, they haven't been able to replicate that first experience. Don't get me wrong, it's been awful, but I'm giving two stars rather than one, because of that first seamless experience.
On one of my experiences, they just completely ignored my order, never mind I'd paid for next-day delivery. After eventually getting through to them, they apologised that "A colleague hadn't 'fulfilled' my order". Say what now? I haven't received my order on the ext day, since that first time.
And for this last straw, I received a call on the day I was expecting my order to say they didn't have any fresh Ugu and wondered if I would be happy with frozen Ugu instead. I declined and asked for a refund of the cost of the Ugu. I was disappointed the order wasn't arriving that day. I asked "so my order won't be arriving today?" They apologised and said it would have to be the next day. Disappointed as I was, I rescheduled plans for next day (Someone else was doing the cooking which i needed the foodstuff for). Made plans and got ready to receive the order on the day (the promised next day). She was on standby and all was ready, then a phone call from them - what do you know? They wanted to know if i would be happy with frozen Ugu as they were out of fresh Ugu. Honestly, you can't make this up. AGAIN??? My first question was "So I won't be getting my order today?" Again, very polite staff, they replied with"No, I'm sorry, it will have to be tomorrow". So i asked for a full refund of my order. To their credit, the refund came within minutes.
It is cheaper for me to buy these things from a shop not too far from me, but, out of personal principle, I choose to shop there for socio-ethical reasons. Sad to say, I can't endure the rigmarole anymore, and they have now lost a customer. I wish them well.
