Friendly helpful staff
I called 3 times over two days, waiting over half hour each time in the queue as there was a huge computer glitch. However the staff were friendly, clear and helpful and I finally got my car insurance sorted. They were the least expensive yet seemed to offer a better deal. I'd use them again.

Autorenewal prices are brutal.
My elderly Dad took out home insurance with Age Co, the insurers being LV (Liverpool Victoria). A couple of autorenewals later he was paying in excess of £400. I handled the renewal this year and bought the exact same cover for less than half the price.
Not all older people can 'shop around' online, or have people who can do it for them. Age Co UK seem unaware that this might be the case, and/ or they don't care because they're making money from that. Oh, how ironic that they use these funds to 'help' doddery old codgers who can't work out the technological interweb to shop around for the best insurance deals. Check out their Computer Training courses near you, folks.
I emailed them to query whether they could maybe cap autorenewal for older people (say 70+) so that, say, it didn't exceed the national average for home insurance - but they replied to say that's not how insurance works and people should shop around.
Lesson - do not assume that a 'charity' working for older people is averse to ripping older people off.

Only an Idiot would reject a £500 saving
I Called Age Concern for my car insurance quote. I have been with Aviva for many years and their quote this year, without any claim, was £1237, which I think is unjustified. (I am 94 years of age).
On virtually the same terms LV= quote was £709.
Despite being an Aviva Shareholder I have changed to LV=Insurance
