Leading SAFe 6.0 course

I have recently completed the Leading SAFe 6.0 course led by Abigail, remote 2 day classroom, and within 2 weeks of completion I had got my certification. I could have achieved it more quickly had I have immediately revised the material after the two days course, but I had other commitments that delayed the revision and I wanted to be confident in my ability to pass first time, before I took the final exam!

The material provided through the portal is comprehensive and easy to navigate with great visuals for those of us who hate reading lots of text and learn better through diagrams.

Top Tip: Register well in advance if you can so you have time to go through the material ahead of the online course, as it helps with context and expectation setting.

In particular, the Agilityzer portal and the welcome email directs you to some videos to watch ahead of the course which were helpful.

Abigail is very experienced and was brilliant at giving real world examples. She's articulate and speaks very clearly and at the right pace. She does not simply read slides or a text book, she is focused on how you will apply your learning out in the real world, which makes the knowledge easier to digest - as there is quite a lot.

I already had some understanding of Agile and Lean working from the real world, which was helpful in some ways but had also misled me in others, which was much less helpful!

This course really filled in the gaps for me, as well as adding to my knowledge. It was a lot more comprehensive and much more useful than I had expected - I learnt a lot on top of what I already knew. I expected it to be quite academic, but everything was genuinely useful.

I often struggle with my attention span, and wondered how engaged I would be, but the delivery of the course is very interactive and broken into logical sections, which helped - we had group tasks to complete, an adequate lunch break as well as a couple of comfort breaks so everyone stayed focused.

My only recommendation for improvement, which I also submitted on the direct feedback, would be to be very clear ahead of booking the course on the volume of material provided and that it would be really helpful to allocate a good 8 hours of prep ahead of taking the course, just to allow time to go through the videos and online portal. In particular to direct people to the pages with the interactive diagrams to explain all the articles they need stem from those. I cannot speak highly enough of the format, it's really simple and effective.

2 days is a very short time for the trainer to deliver a huge amount of info. for this course, and I thought Abigail did a sterling job of fitting it all in, somehow!

I felt there was a lot of support readily available even after the two days but I didn't need to utilise it other than the workbook and interactive portal diagrams which lead you to all the articles you need. The mock exam was super helpful. If you give a wrong answer, it directs you to the article where you will find the right answer so that allowed me to hone in on areas I needed to go into again as I had not quite managed to digest it the first time.

The time provided for the exam was ample - and I say that even as someone who automatically panics during an exam situation!

Top Tip: My tactic was to go through and answer everything with a gut feel first. Some of the answers were really easy and super obvious. Then I went back through and looked again at the ones I was unsure of and had a think through them to try to recall the right option. Then I proof-read a third time. Some of the questions are trickier than they appear... things around "principles" and "values" and "competencies" - you read the choices and pounce on the one you recognise, only to realise it has asked for a "competency" and you have clicked on a "principle" - for example. So it is always worth double checking you have not become word blind in the exam panic, or mis-read the question the first time and clicked the wrong thing by recognising a word or phrase in the wrong context. I did this in the mock exam hence learning my lesson in the final, which was worth it.

If you're looking for consultancy work, what was also great was the recommended templates you can take away and use, if leading SAFe in the real world, which were provided in the portal as part of the course. I felt this could be a great selling point as it gives a real value add for the cost of the course.

In conclusion, I would highly recommend the course itself, and completing the course through this provider, and I'd specifically recommend Abigail as a trainer, as well. It certainly delivered on its promises and provided great value for money.

If I were looking to complete further SAFe courses I would book through Agilityzer again.

The primary reason I opted for the SAFe…

The primary reason I opted for the SAFe 5.1 Advanced Scrum Master (ASM) instead of the SAFe 6 ASM is the 16-hour interaction with the trainer, which cannot be compared to the updated version, as it is a micro-certification. The trainer was excellent, going beyond the SAFe slides and sharing real-life, on-the-job experiences. Agilityzer is practicing SAFe principles, specifically customer-centricity, in delivering value to those being trained.

Insightful SSM Course with Room for Improvement

I recently completed the Scaled Scrum Master (SSM) online course with Agilityzer company. The instructor was highly experienced and knowledgeable about the learning material. Their explanations were clear and objective, making complex concepts easy to understand. However, I found the course scope to be quite extensive for just a two-day training. As a suggestion, it would be beneficial to either reduce the number of slides by making the explanations more concise or extend the training to a third day.
