Easy and very effective way to grow using the hydroponic technique

I love my 60-pod Ahopegarden! It is a great layout that fits very easily against a wall, and because it has long rows, it is very much like having a real garden space for true food production. There are a few things about it that the manufacturer should change. The wood edges are not sealed so they turn green when they get wet...and they do get wet automatically on the bottom right side because the water circulation down spout splashes inside the tank and up onto the wooden platform/siding. They need to have the user manual edited by someone who speaks English as their primary language. The manual doesn't explain several things understandably and doesn't identify what the battery alarm is so when inserted it screams at you before you later put water in the tank. I was glad to see they provide the pump and a second backup to have on hand. The plant holder inserts are well made and you can reuse them long term. They need to provide at least 24 additional plant labels in the original box. They don't give you near enough. They should also provide (2) of the smart plugs, not just one. You will need one for the lights and one for the pump so you can schedule both for on-off times. It is unnecessary to run the pump 24-hours and unrealistic. Plus this is not a quiet pump system. The water that runs from the top tank to the bottom splashes loudly into the bottom tank. So being able to set a timer and have off time with the pump is more practical on every level. This system holds a little over 8-gallons of water, so I purchased an external electric water pump and hose for quicker water removal directly into a sink. I do not use the food they provided, and they need to either remove or revise their hydroponic gardening instructions for growing plants because it is not correct. (They say plant seedlings don't need light to grow.)

Overall, I would highly recommend this hydroponic garden system. It wasn't difficult to assemble except for the incorrect English manual at times. The pictures were helpful and you can email them with questions. Again, be prepared for a helpful staff that doesn't speak English as a first language and that was frustrating. One other down side to purchasing this is that it should not cost more than $375 USD. So at $495 plus potential tariffs it isn't as attractive. But keep in mind that that one head of living organic lettuce at the grocery store in the USA is approximately $5.00 USD. And the layout of this long garden will allow you to accomplish great self-sufficiency in growing all your own greens safely and without contamination. Especially if you use filtered water and the right nutrient balance sourced and maintained by pH/EC meter. This garden will pay for itself quicker than you might think based on grocery prices today in the USA.

My ordering experience of my 12 slot Ahopegarden was great. It arrived on time. Since, I have completely cleaned and filled with water twice. That has gone well for me. I highly recommend Ahopegarden as I am completely satisfied with its operation. We use it for lettuce and it supplies us with so much lettuce we never have to buy at the grocery store and we figure is a lot safer.

I would give zero stars, but it's not an option. The motor broke a week in. I tried a variety of fixes, went online for ideas, there was no way to contact Ahopegarden, and after two weeks, I threw it all out. I'll never buy anything from your company again.

I received a 10 pod planter as a gift at Christmas. After a slow start, happily a few things germinated. At about 6 weeks of use, however, the lights ceased to function rendering the planter useless.

It does not indicate when to add food or water.
