America home shield was able to offer me a cash out in order for me to buy the right cooktop for my house. They couldn’t find the right cooktop to replace my old unit, and there were no parts available to fix the old unit but I was able to find the right cooktop and replace it. I did however had to cover the majority of the cost out of pocket.

My water pipes started to BANG when I turned on the water. I checked the PSI in the pipes and it exceeded 90 PSI. The pressure regulator was factory set to 50 PSI. (Defective pressure regulator) I called American Home shield having had the coverage for nearly a year without ever having a claim. The plumbing company sent out a young inexperienced man who did nothing but "look" not once checking the pressure, listened tpo tjhe banging and called someone.. They wrote up that I needed hammer arrestors because mine were "defective." (I never had any of these ever on any of my water pipes so they could not say that they were defective.) That was to cost me over $800 since those were not included in the home warranty contract. Later on I did find somewhere in the paperwork that the plumber had sent to American Home Shield that i needed a new water pressure regulator. I tried repeatedly to get hold of someone at American Home Shield to authorize the replacement of the defective water pressure regulator, but they had already denied my claim and NO ONE would ever connect me with the person who declined the claim. It was "out of their hands." I was trying to get this resolved on my cell phone at the hospital at the same time my spouse was in ICU. The plumbing company was no help either. I think they work in concert to find something else that they perceive is wrong just so they can deny claims. I was o angry that I told them to cancel my contract for the remaining couple of months and they actually charged me to cancel the contract. I would not recommend American Home Shield to anyone. I have had too many expenses and things to do after my wife wife passed away and have not had the water pressure regulator replaced. But I'll not be paying a monthly bill for an American Home Shield service that is no good. I will allocate those funds to go toward a legitimate plumber to replace the water pressure regulator and not have unneeded hammer arrestors installed.

I believe I called American Home Shield on 10 April. I describe the problem with the sink and they said they would contact a plumber in our area as soon as possible. Then I was told the next day that the plumber would be coming on Monday the 13th he came as expected and was very professional checked out the problem first and then went and got his equipment and started to work to unclog the drain, we thought it was a vent problem, but he said it was not so after he ran the auger all the way out to the drain the drain out the sink was able to dispose of all the water that he ran during the entire thing, and there was no gurgling sound as we had had for the past few months. We were very impressed with the young man who came. He was a worker and didn’t give up until he got it unclogged.

I have had this warranty for over 20 years. I had a water heater replaced. The contractor changed out the water heater twice, both heaters leaked from the T&P valve. The warranty wouldn't fix saying they wanted 435.00additional money to fix the problem with another additional expansion tank. I had my other hot water heater for 17 yrs and didn't need an additional tank and it never leaked from the T/P valve. Even the resolutions team member got frustrated with her various departments trying to get answers. It also took me over 2 hours to get the contract cancelled. I would never do business this company again.

The electrician was very straightforward and made the visit very quick to analyze our problem with our lights. Even advised me about a light that couldnt lit the house up on fire if we didn’t get told about it.

AHS is excellent. They replaced my washer immediately when it was not able to be fixed. They also had a variety of washers to choose from. The delivery guys were polite and did an excellent job in removing my old washer and setting up my new one.

American home shield made the process easy. I ended up having five different companies give me bids on replacing my two heat pumps. And then using my American home shield plan gave me the best deal at the best price. I got exactly what I wanted after researching systems on consumer reports. And the nearest bid for replacing my two systems what's $4000 more than I paid using my American Home Shield plan. Great job American Home Shield. We selected Goodman variable stage systems.

I’m am absolutely appalled by the service provided by American Home Shield. I submitted a claim for my built-in microwave, which has served me well for almost 20 years. Recently, the handle broke, and I expected coverage for this issue, especially given the age of the appliance.
To my shock, they rejected my claim, stating that the damage was due to "mishandling." This is beyond absurd! My microwave sits above the burners, where it naturally experiences wear and tear over the years. Instead of understanding the situation, they chose to dismiss my claim without proper consideration.
Their customer service is incredibly unhelpful, and it feels like they are just looking for excuses not to honor claims. If you’re considering American Home Shield for appliance insurance, I urge you to think twice. They seem more focused on denying claims than providing actual support for their customers. Save your money and look for a company that values its customers!

American Home Shield had our A/C fixed ASAP and the only additional cost was a service charge. They had our unit fixed without quibbling or questioned the repair order. AHS simply had it done.

The Contractor from CJ’s Heating and Air Conditioning Company sent via my AHS contract was excellent. The HVAC man was polite, knowledgeable, timely and I can’t say enough about the satisfaction with his service. And yes my issue was resolved. Thank you

A customer of AHS for 5 years. Just canceled today! The service has gotten much worse over time and the final 2 months convinced us to cancel. Much confusion and poor communication with the service techs or business. Took 4 or 5 weeks to replace our dryer with a new one. Furnace repair was a joke. Tech refused to order a new part (thermocouple) even after pilot flame failure twice in one week. Would definitely not recommend at this point. Recent ads on YouTube are complete BS. Truly.

My experience was excellent. AHS arranged a repair expert quickly, and the service was great.

We’re thoroughly pleased with our experience with American Home Shield—especially since this was our first time needing to use the service. To resolve our HVAC issue, we had a few video sessions with their technicians, and each one was incredibly patient, knowledgeable, and committed to helping us troubleshoot the problem.
While we ultimately needed an in-person technician from Extreme Heating & Air to fully resolve the issue, the entire process with AHS was smooth and supportive from start to finish. I’m still in awe of how effective and convenient the video calls were. Overall, it was a great experience, and I’m very happy we have this service.
