TERRIBLE SERVICE

TERRIBLE SERVICE.

After having my car broken into and my devices stolen I submitted a claim with Apple Care Theft and Loss. 1 hour after submitting I called back to cancel - someone had found my phone and was returning it to me.

AIG have blocked access to my handset because the claim is active.3 working days later I am still blocked out of my handset (my only ability to access work and my only device) as AIG keeps stalling on the cancellation. "It's under review 1 more day. We have escalated the case 2 more days. We can escalate again 1 more day".

Very hard to get passed to a supervisor but when you do again just assurances of wait. I can't wait. I have lost so much work this week and this should be such a simple process to cancel. My only guess is that the stalling is so they can take the excess payment.

I thought paying 15 bucks per month to apple they would be connected with a top teir Insurance company. Do not use apple care theft and loss because this 3rd party is useless.

Bad customer service

I wrote them to claim back the costs of a trip that we cancelled due to medical reasons. They took 3 months to even reply to the message. Never again!

Bad customer service

Booked travel insurance for a holiday abroad through a local insurance company and AIG was the insurer. 6 days before my holiday I broke my ankle and was unable to travel. I provided them with cancellation email from travel company detailing dates of travel, names of travellers, total amount paid for holiday and that no refund had been paid by travel company. Also provided 2 letters from hospital consultant confirming I had a broken ankle and was not fit to fly. They kept insisting I provide a medical certificate from my GP despite the fact I hadn't seen the GP and had provided them with a consultant letter. They then said they required the original booking email which I no longer had but advised they had the cancellation document. After much argument they agreed to accept bank statements which showed my payment to the travel company of proof I had indeed booked the holiday! I then received an email on 12th June with a letter attached dated 7th June saying they would pay out and money would be in my account within 3-5 days. Today, 19th June I phoned to say that I still hadn't received the money into my account. They tried to fob me off by saying it can take up to 10 days however when he read out the account number it had been paid into it was incorrect! Despite this being their error (remember they had my bank statements with account number and sort code on there) they have advised that it could take another 2 weeks to get the money into my account. They refuse to let you speak to a manager or someone in the payments team to sort it out and just tell you you just have to wait. Never again will I use them. Would rate them 0.

Would award no stars if I could

Would award no stars if I could. Have paid monthly for accident cover since 1994. I attempted to change my address following a house move, but AIG insist that there is no record of me or my policy! They deny that the policy number given in their recent letter to me even exists, and cannot trace me on their 'system' using any personal details. Abysmal customer service bordering on fraudulent. Avoid.

Bike insurance with more holes than…

Bike insurance with more holes than Swiss cheese.

Your bike is insured for damages and robbery as long as it is not damaged or stolen. if it is damaged, wait a month to make sure no other insurance company can pay for it. if stolen, get money only for a basic model minus 15% of the price.

Thieves! Stay away.

Waste time and money

Waste time and money, I asked them to provide me a document of insurance for doing visa, because their document didn’t show all information. But they said they have no ability to do that. What a shame. If you have no ability, you should close down your company then.

I am trying to get access to my account…

I am trying to get access to my account -- someone somehow was able to change all my information on file. I called the number in the email address that I received from Corebridge (they couldn't find my information and transferred me to AIG Annuities without telling me). They also didn't find my information and transferred me to AIG Retirement Services (they found my information but couldn't help me with the access issue). The transferred me so a machine (i've been on this machine recording call for 9 minutes now........)

1) how the heck can someone go in and change my phone number and email address on file without at least generating one email/text notification about it?
2) how can
Corebridge have my correct email address, but not find my records when I call verifying all my records over the phone? Telling me "we don't have you one file" ----------------------- SO HOW WERE YOU ABLE TO EMAIL ME ABOUT MY ACCOUNT BEING LOCKED?!?!

AIG insurance

AIG - what a dreadful company - booked a holiday through Expedia we had to cancel the holiday due to my mother in laws illness which was out of the blue - we went to claim and they said ' it was on ongoing issue' we had affidavits from consultants saying it was not an on going issue. Spoke to their ' wriggle out of paying department ' and they have suggested to take this up with the Ombudsman. Never again will l use AIG for anything - When we booked the holiday through Expedia - we paid the £100 for insurance and we had a message from Expedia ' relax your holidays covered ' not it wasn't - don't waste your money on AIG

Best company for medical insurance it was for me hope it is for you

Last year in June, while abroad, I got violently ill, and the in-house dr couldn't fix me, so he sent me to the hospital where I spent 5 days in I.C.U then was told I have to have my Gallbladder Removed otherwise ill die. I called AIG, and they confirmed with my Dr that I did not have this condition before leaving so they would pay for it as if i had a problem and didn't declare it I would pay so always declare medical conditions. I spent a total of 3 weeks in hospital AIG paid for everything. The operation, CT scans, ultrasounds, food, drinks, shampoo, and so on. They also booked a hotel for 5 nights they paid for the flight home, a taxi to pick me up, and take me to my crib.
I didn't pay for a single thing they covered everything, and they also called me every couple of days to check that I was OK and on the mend. It is for me the best insurance company I have ever used, and I will continue to use them for as long as they exist.
Massive thank you to the company and the staff who called me personally to make sure i was ok.

AVIOD AT ALL COSTS

AVIOD AT ALL COSTS. Would give them 0 if I could. Arranged life insurance via Reassured. Paid 1 monthly second month nothing was taken from my account then got emails and texts saying the payment was not made. Spoke to someone and agreed two payments would be paid via direct debit on 1st March. 3rd March came around 39 pound left my account, then started days of multiple calls (working nights so unable to answer) emails and texts saying my policy was void as no payments was made. Called them and explained it had been paid told it wasn't there issue and I hadn't had cover since January the only way to be covered was to be an additional around 39 pound. Explained and provided proof ot left my account and not returned. Did not care. Raised fraud with my bank and going to try else where.

Avoid their travel insurance

An insurance broker for me travel insurance with a company called “Just Travel Cover”. Had a spill on holiday, hit my face on a step and broke a tooth. Had to get an emergency repair and treatment on holiday in Lanzarote and a proper repair and more treatment at home.

When I made a claim it turns out the insurance policy is with AIG. Despite an invoice saying “emergency consultation”, proof of payment and fairly detailed before and after pictures of my damaged tooth, they are refusing to pay even the cost of the dentist abroad as I can’t prove it was an emergency.

Communication is very poor, I think they are based in France, and email responses take close to a week. I’ve had to claim on other travel policies before and they were not like this. Ultimately the policy is worthless, glad it wasn’t something life threatening.

Horrible company they don't know what…

Horrible company they don't know what they are doing and their stupid website doesn't work. It is beyond me why APPLE would have chosen these people to cover their products this makes no sense given that APPLE is prestigious and surely wants the best for their customers who are spending over £1000 for a phone and in the case of theft when you already have to deal with police and stress you need also to deal with these ppl. All their communication states IF WE APROOVE, IF WE PAY ETC. What IF?? There is an insurance and there is a theft so you execute the insurance there is nothing for you to make up here its simple. Their delay tactic is if you send documents via email it takes 5 days to review if via website it is 2 days but submission via web doesn't work. Im going to take these to FCA and luckily with my job i do get access to CEO's of Apples, Netflix, amazon etc., so will need to have a word with them to flag that someone is clearly picking and choosing 3d party contractors who cannot organize a pissup in brewery and clearly are a scam. It should be done in house not passed to a bunch of cucumbers

AppleCare+

On the 22nd of December 2023 I had my phone stolen unlocked. The thief accessed my AppleID and gmail to lock me out and proceeded to fraudulently access my bank accounts, applying for loans and opening new accounts in my name. This has been devastating and has significantly affected my mental health.

Having purchased my iPhone14 Pro Max outright from Apple in December 2022, and purchasing the AppleCare Loss and Theft insurance policy (~£12/month), I thought that I would be covered for his theft (which has been reported to the London Metropolitan Police). It transpired that this was not the case. The thief was able to login into my iCloud and remove any trace of the device which prevented me from marking it as 'Lost' which Apple say is essential if you are to make a claim. My question to Apple is – as a customer who outright owns the device and pays for the premium insurance for over a year, how is it possible/allowable for a criminal to access iCloud and make this level of correction to internal databases, such that I am no longer insured?

I am posting this to make other AppleCare customers aware of what might happen to them in this scenario. You are much better off with an alternative insurance policy that does not insist that you turn your stolen phone ‘off’ – which is impossible in the circumstance I found myself in.

In addition, and to add to the anxiety and stress that I was feeling, I was dealt with by a entirely unhelpful/rude Apple employee who read me my rights from the agreement, which I am sure is correct, but I must say, I was not aware of this, nor did I understand it from the agreement when I signed up to AppleCare Loss and Theft insurance Policy.

Apple have been entirely unhelpful and I have personally lost over £1,000 (device) and ~£150 in insurance payments. Please consider this insurance policy as thieves can influence your ability to make a claim – Apple are aware and do nothing about it!
