Airalo Reviews 

Airalo has offered great eSIMs for a range of countries I've visited in the past few years, including Canada, Thailand, Singapore, S. Korea, Taiwan and even Uzbekistan. Service has usually been great. The platform's easy to use and they provide clear directions for installing and activating eSIMs with just a few taps.

I've used Airalo many times. From Kenya to China, Taiwan, Europe. It always works well. The instructions on the app are clear. It's important to always set the APN according to their instructions.

It is easy to select an appropriate Airalo package. However, I have two challenges with Airalo:
1. it is still a hassle to activate the package and set it as primary Wifi.
2. as much I hardly ever need my phone and can do 99% with data, it sometimes is require to make a phone call on my Taiwan number. Why can this not be done through Airalo?

Airalo has been my go-to internet connection for all of my international trips. Whether in the USA, Australia, South Korea, Japan, Taiwan, Hongkong, and Macau I always get fast and reliable internet connection.

Doesn't work in some Asian countries, such as, Korea, Taiwan and Turkey.

Positives: Easy to use and covers countries competitors do not, such as Taiwan and Laos. Performance and coverage generally good (see below).

Negatives: Performance can be varied and reliability could be improved. For example my first SIM in Taiwan had excellent coverage and speed (5G). However, when it could no longer be topped up, requiring a new e-sim to be installed, the coverage and performance were markedly worse (4G only). Additionally, there was a windows of about an hour where there was no coverage at all, despite moving around the city.

Overall: recommended for simplicity.

Recommendation to Airalo: Don't just compete on price, quality of service is just as important with such a critical service when travelling. Perhaps offer different price-point/services?

The service of Airalo have been great. I have been using airalo for 4 years with no problem until my last visit to Taiwan in which I experienced two disconnection of my esim. Fortunately, the airalo supporting team solved the problems promptly.

I paid 11USD and it didn’t work when I arrived in Taiwan.

I have used Airalo in USA, Europe, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Iceland with great satisfaction but NOT in Hong Kong.
As Hong Kong government requires physical SIM card plus Passport registration before SIM will get activated, of which I found out by big surprise after arriving in Hong Kong.
Airalo is a communication company with business all over the world and should be aware of such Hong Kong requirement but I, as a customer, have never been informed except finding it out by big surprise when the time I needed the communication very much,

Airalo works pretty well. I use in Italy, and in Taiwan. Mostly no problems. But had a few times had connection problems.
Set up. Easy

I've been using Airalo for over 6 years now in Thailand, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Canada. Connections were For most part great, the worst was fair. When I lost connection one time, customer service helped me to switch to another network within 24 hours. Love the app, very easy to resubscribe and the prices are fair to the data packages they offer including the extentions (when you just need that little bit extra without getting a whole package).

Airalo was simple to setup, very cost effective, provided stable connection anywhere I went and provide great regional packages I didn't expect! It was so easy traveling between Hong Kong and Taiwan with the regional data package without worrying how much I should top up for each country

Honestly a game changer! I'm so happy with the ease and overall use of Airalo. I've been using their Esims for well over 2 years and have recommended them to friends and family. I don't use data too heavily and find the cost and efficacy of the annual global coverage perfect! I've traveled through Albania, Austria, Luxembourg, Finland, Estonia, Canada, US, Mexico, Costa Rica, Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia, Japan and many more to list. I hit the ground running in any country I land without worry. Thanks Airalo! Count me as a customer for life!

I've used Airalo for several years, throughout Asia (Vietnam, Taiwan, Singapore, Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, Hong Kong), in South Africa (primarily Capetown), in the U.K., Ireland and France. The service has been great, and the customer support is also excellent. The only time I ran into an issue we couldn't resolve was during a brief visit to Zimbabwe, which posed little hardship, but customer service gave me a credit nonetheless. This is an excellent company that stands behind its service. I'm really mystified by a few negative reviews I've seen. I've used Airalo in nearly a dozen countries and those reviews are the opposite of my experience.

It was a little hard to set up initially, but worked well in Vietnam. I tried to set it up for my daughter's trip to Taiwan, but could not get it working.

I used it in 3 countries: Japan, S Korea, and Taiwan, Connection are pretty good

I bought a 10gb good for 30 days esim for my Taiwan trip, though my trip is only 11 days.

At first the esim is working well, but after 5 days something went wrong, it's not working anymore even though I did everything and troubleshooting. It's very disappointing, last year I used airalo for my japan trip but I don't know what happened in Taiwan. I would probably not use airalo again.

It was quite a struggle to initiate the connection with Chungwah telecom in Taiwan. Connection in Japan was seamless and no hassle, I don't have to change any setting at all. So I thought this would be the same in Taiwan, and I was totally wrong. After several attempts to no avail, I finally figure out I probably have to set up the APN and the name of provider. Finally after 1 hour, I have a connection with Chungwah telecom. I suggest proper info and instrction should be provided up front when esim is purchased.

I used Airalo last year while traveling through Taiwan and Thailand. It was perfectly seamless.
As soon as I turned on my phone I was ready to go.
And I had great coverage everywhere I went. I will use them again

I've travelled to the Philippines and China with stop-over in Taiwan last year and this year. I used Airalo esim for my mobile data needs while abroad, and everything worked perfectly as advertized!
