Unsafe, unclean, unprofessional.

Stayed at flat 2, 141 queens crescent, near Camden. London. April 2026.

Pubic hair in the bed and towels.
What looked like semen stains on cushion case.
Spiders webs and dust on surfaces and walls.
Floors not cleaned/vacuumed.
Toilet seat filthy on top and underneath.
All the blinds are broken in the windows.
2x CCTV cameras that repeats X3 "you are under surveillance" anytime they sense movement. One of them is in the street, so is basically talking all night long.
The heating was on constant and high (30c) when I arrived. I managed to switch it off at the boiler and the temperature in the flat took 3 days to drop to 22c.
Faceplate covering pipework below boiler fell off.
The hob had been left on low (without flame) and the smell of gas was obvious. I had to open the windows immediately.
The tiny kitchen towel was clearly not clean and smelled bad.
The handle on the fridge is snapped making it difficult to open.
The legally required fire extinguishers are missing from their hangers in the communal areas.
The electrics are not up to code: socket obstructed and unusable, all faceplates loose, I plugged my phone charger in a socket on one side of the bed and the bedside lamp in a different socket flashed on and off.

I stayed there for work and did not book the accommodation myself therefore can't leave a review on Airbnb. Could have been really nice with a bit of effort. However they clearly aren't interested in safety or basic cleanliness.

Bed Bugs

Me and my partner checked in to their accommodation near Camden and found bed bugs in the property. We told the host who said they’d find a solution and they didn’t get back to us until an hour later when we said we were leaving. Ended up being a very expensive trip as we had to travel all the way home and then back to London the next day. Had a very late night having to bag everything. Clothes had to be washed and dried which is damaging to some clothing. Spent days trying to decontaminate everything. Just woke up today and have bites all down my arm and hands. So potential extra costs for exterminator within our own homes…all Airbnb could do was offer us a refund for the room. Overall makes me question if the room was ever cleaned. As a cleaner, there’s no way I would’ve changed that bed and not seen anything. Very worrying, please AVOID

Airbnb swarmed with flies

This was hands down the worst Airbnb experience I've ever had. From the moment we walked in, we were hit with an awful smell that never went away. The place was filthy – clearly not cleaned between guests. Marks all over the wall, uncleaned towels with holes in which looked like they had been reused for years. The floors were dirty we had a shower put socks on and in a few minutes out clean socks were dirty and the bathroom looked like it hadn’t been scrubbed in weeks including hairs all in the bath and stains.

The big part was the flies! There were flies all over the room !!!! Including dead ones squished all over the wall. They were all in the fake plants all over the lampshade and all over the window ledge. This was absolutely vile and I have never experienced anything like that in my life. As we arrived so late we had to spend a night here but hardly got one wink of sleep. We also weren’t aware if we were able to get a refund yet as if was late at night. Airbnb were very helpful with this and spoke to them on the phone in the night. We ended up getting a refund the next morning for 2 nights we didn’t stay and booked a hotel for another night.

Awful company

Awful company, don't even bother chancing that one of their rentals will be OK. Wasn't even able to shower due to issues and was promised someone would be over the same say but never happened. This was over 2 nights and so many other things wrong but no resolution just an empty apology and ignoring requests for refund through airbnb. Absolute scum.

1 star, I wish I could give zero stars, due to the terrible condition the room I was given. It had fresh paint smell that made me nauseous to even step inside, there was a massive ladder blocking the way and the condition wasn’t suitable to be booked in any way possible. I didn’t sleep in that room and have requested for help from Akrox team but nothing happened. Recently I was contacted by Ali the host at Akrox on WhatsApp who apologized but it was superficial as he demanded for me to change my review to something positive for the potential to receive my refund. Don’t waste your money and time with this company.

Akrox acomodations SCAMERS

I have booked 3 ensuite rooms with them in London via booking.com , nicely presented , good price, everything you want, until i have arrived to self check in , bed sheets dirty and not changed, 1 of the bathrooms dirty,heating in the first room not working , and overall the rooms were not cleaned, but if the beds would have been changed for one night i could have stayed, but i was too disgusted to stay so i asked for a refund and left.
Now the interesting part, good luck getting your money back, booking.com can't issue a refund without the company's permission (wich is effing shocking) ,now i am stuck because the owner simply doesn't communicate with booking.com regarding my refund, so they can't give me one. The owner also doesn't answer to me, they have no proper adress to be contacted with a letter of demand, the company if you look it trough company house is proposed for strike off in the next 2 months.
So beware of this Akrox company and booking.com, as you will loose your money or a lot of time and effort to get it back , with booking.com it seems you are not covered at all and you are at the mercy of the hotel

Terrible business practices, unsafe

Avoid using this company at all costs for home stays.

I stayed at one of their places in London and had an attempted break-in 3 nights in. I had to vacate the property due to it being unsafe for me and my family. I was very kind to the company and provided feedback on how to make things safer, saying that what happened wasn't their fault. I asked if they could reimburse us for the nights that we did not stay but never responded to my message. After leaving them a review, they responded by saying that feeling "unsafe" was not a reason for reimbursement. Yes, me and my family did feel unsafe, but it was due to a very real experience of a group of men trying to break into the apartment twice from 2am - 3:45am.

They ended up leaving a nasty review for me as a guest stating that I "caused issues" when I did not cause any issues. It was wildly inappropriate and misleading given our conversations we had and how respectful I was to them, reiterating that it was not their fault that this happened. As a business, they should have done what was right and reimbursed us for the nights we did not stay.

This company will not take care of their guests and do what is right, and they will blame you for the issues that their property has. If you go on their reviews on airbnb, you will see how this company handles feedback and they always respond in a very rude, aggressive way, disregarding the guests that had stayed at their location.

Avoid this company at ALL COSTS.
