Second visit

My family (2adults and 15 and 10 year old) have just returned from a 10 night stay. This is our second stay and we were delighted to see the changes that have taken place.
We stayed in the Aegean swim up rooms and this was fantastic. The facilities were lovely and gave a really lovely relaxing environment to enjoy. Sunil is fantastic at the swim up bar! All the staff are very friendly and we felt very cared for.
The food is great and there was something for all of our differing tastes.
There are activities available for kids up to 15 such as paddle boarding. With older children, WiFi is a must and the WiFi available is reliable.
We will be back again.

Meant to be the Aegean, but Ionis instead

Booked with local travel agent, Jet2 flight plus coach transfer. Dropped off at the Aegean reception, which was closed but a sign with a number to call. Called, they came and picked us up, took us to the reception for the Ionis (didn't realise at the time).

Room booked as 2 x single beds apartment - this was a double bed with a sofa bed in the lounge area. Ok, we were accepted this.
Kitchen area lacking for a self catering facility - fridge also even on the lowest setting was freezing food and drinks, no door shelving.

Was told that this is a spa hotel so even though the weather was cold (4 degrees when we landed; 10 degrees in the UK) there was a heated indoor pool, jacuzzi, steam room and sauna. During our stay, the steam room did not work - asked twice, was told it was going to be fixed, it wasn't. Indoor pool and surrounding area was cold and the spa was being renovated, so I suppose this could be why there was no heating. It certainly wasn't very welcoming. I used the sauna to warm up after swimming!

Food options - a buffet (30 Euros/person) was available on the evening we arrived, from there afterwards it was a set menu but not every night. For the same price as the buffet, it was very disappointing indeed. We were informed we could eat at the Italian restaurant on the main road but this seemed quite expensive (example - a Margherita pizza was 17 Euros).

There are plenty of places to eat in Paphos town - a bus ride will cost 2 Euros or an all day pass for 6.50 so there are options. We do realise that we were not visiting during high season so expected a little less.

There was one bar in the hotel that was open. The barman needs a special mention. Liviu was really keen to make sure we had a drink that we found to our satisfaction. He makes the most amazing cocktails and really knows his stuff. A true gentleman. Alternative was the Wild Horse on the main road, but once again, the pumps were not all working so restricted to what was on tap.

The other staff at the hotel also deserve a mention - they were all polite, friendly and helpful throughout our stay.

We have contacted the travel agent to find out about the mix up with the hotels as they were not aware we had not stayed at the Aegean. Awaiting a response.

I would think that once the renovations have been completed and the steam room repaired, the spa will be a lovely place to relax in.

If you do go, pick some of the oranges and grapefruit to juice for your breakfast, they are amazing!

A great five star experience

From the moment we arrived we were made to feel welcome. We had a lovely one room apartment that was spacious and clean, giving us the living room as sleeping space for the teenagers. the cleaning staff came regularly and changed towels and sheets. I loved that we also got pool towels to use.

It was lovely not to have towels out on the deck chairs around the pool so we always got a lounger.
The staff were friendly and went out of their way to help and check on us. We had two people in our party that had birthdays whilst out there, we had not said anything to staff and both of us (my husband and i) got a happy birthday note and a cake put in the fridge for us

There was a good standard of food and range at the buffet that changed regularly. The evening eating area is really lovely.

We did not go to the entertainment but there was space to have a drink in the evening, play pool. The staff were always welcoming and chatty.

We were near beaches and the waterpark that is in walking distance added to the appeal of the venue

Not for us

We have just returned from a week at the Aliathon in a swim up room. We paid extra for this and we are sorry we did. The pool was allocated to the entire Ionian block. We had people constantly sitting right outside our room. Used glasses from the bar were frequently left outside. Empty plastic glasses in the pool and saw people emptying their drinks into it. The lifeguard was constantly on his phone sat at the bar unless the manager went past. The night time entertainment was poor. Mainly reps singing out of tune. No outside acts. The hotel does not provide bottled water only water on tap. If bottled water was needed they directed you to the shop to purchase. This is the first all inclusive I’ve been to that doesn’t provide bottle water which during a heatwave is essential. The all inclusive food selection was really good but people letting small children get their own food without supervision and watching them finger food then put it back in the serving containers was very off putting. My final point is the cleanliness. The shower was blocked in our room. When we picked the plug up it was impacted with hair 🤢 we rang reception and this wasn’t sorted until we asked again the next morning. The hair was removed but the plug not cleaned. This should be done between each guest change. The beds are clearly not moved as there was a lot of dust present beneath them and the wall tiles had never been wiped. The room next door was vacated and it took 2 days for this to be cleaned. The outside was left in a terrible state by the previous occupants. The options of two meals at the restaurants was also a positive experience and the spa. However having to pay extra for kids activities was a downside. Having always booked our holidays with TUI this was the first time we have been disappointed with the accommodation. I would rate it as 3+ stars not 4+. We still had a lovely holiday but these things let it down and we wouldn’t book here again.

Poor costumer care

My wife and I chose Aliathon Resort (Fishing Village) to celebrate our 21st anniversary, arriving just after midnight on June 9th due to a late flight with TUI. Although our check-in was supposed to be on June 8th, we arrived around 1 am on the 9th.

A few days before our checkout, I spoke with Yannis, one of the managers, about the possibility of a late checkout since our return flight to the UK was scheduled for midnight. Yannis confirmed we were with TUI and said we would be informed the day before our checkout if a late checkout was possible. There was limited explanation about the procedure, but we were told we would eventually find out. He was, in my opinion, a very patronising manager. When I tried to get more information, I was told, “Any question you ask, the answer is yes.”

On June 12th, around 10 pm, we returned from a stroll and checked with reception, who confirmed we were permitted a late checkout and that everything was fine. There was no mention of payment; I was only told that a note should have been left in our room. However, there was no note or information when we got to our room.

On the day of our checkout, we were locked out of our room after midday. Thankfully, a cleaner allowed us back in. When we checked out at 6 pm, we were surprised to find we had to pay for the late checkout, which was never explained to us. I tried to explain to the receptionist, but I felt she didn’t understand or deliberately dismissed my point—that no one had informed us about the payment, and I had been led to believe it was okay to extend our stay for about six hours (checkout at 6 pm instead of 12 pm).

Although I paid without much debate as I had no other option, I felt deceived. Clear communication beforehand would have avoided this situation.

To make matters worse, the receptionist mentioned we could have stayed until 10 pm when our transport was due. This information would have been useful earlier, as we had already stored our luggage and were left waiting aimlessly for four hours.

This appalling service and the fee, combined with being locked out of the room and the total breakdown of communication on their side, became a matter of principle. The lack of efficient communication and professionalism was disappointing. Despite paying, I expressed my dissatisfaction to the receptionist, who only called Yannis when I mentioned an online review. His attempts to make excuses did not address the core issue. I was even told he would have voided the additional payment had I not mentioned raising a complaint, which I find off-putting and patronising considering we were pushed to pay extra without completely hearing our full side of the story.

A large resort like Aliathon considering it’s extremely expensive (and not worth the price) should have handled such situations better. We left with a negative impression, feeling disgusted and unfairly treated. This experience has deterred me from considering this place for future trips, including a potential team-building holiday/activities for a large number of colleagues.

After raising this issue, a general manager offered an upgraded room subject to availability if we decide to return in the future. I think the 'subject to availability' only added more insult to injury. Only shows money over, costumer care.

Thanks, but no thanks!

The Most Amazing Hotel and Holiday.

The Most Amazing Hotel and Holiday.
We arrived not sure what to expect but wow we were blown away. All the staff are great, welcoming and nothing is too much for them. The manager is visible and available for the guests and staff, with a great sense of humour.
The purples were great and work so hard but will take time to recognise the kids in their presence and actively encourage and engage with them.
The food was amazing and so much variety, we stayed in the fishing village with a lovely view of the pool.
We had the best family holiday and came back relaxed and smiling. We will be back! Hopefully next year for some more fun and laughter. A heartfelt thank you to you all 🥰

Holiday Village Aliathon Resort

Holiday Village Aliathon Resort

Outstanding hotel. Highly recommend to others. I have visited here with my husband, mother, father and five children. We are definitely going to be returning guests.

All the staff and very helpful and friendly especially Yiannis the operations manger, nothing is too much trouble and he’s always smiling. The hotel is very clean, and the food is well prepared and good variety.

The entertainment and daily activity are far beyond anything I have experienced at any other hotel we have previously stayed at. Fully packed days consisting of everything (canoeing, kayaking, long boarding, Ariel climbing, water flights, pool bingo, yoga, daily quiz etc) then a full evening of fun and games. My children didn’t stop.

They offer a football academy with certified coaches which my son loved, as well as a swim academy which follows the swim England syllabus.

The holiday village kids club and activities staff genuinely love their jobs and interact with the children and families so well.

A special mention to Chloe, Chris, Molly, Harris and Grace who were just amazing, My daughter is Autistic and they were so patient and caring with her.

*wonderful*

*wonderful*

From even before we arrived I contacted Hotel Aliathon with a request for a quiet area as I have a teenager with autism who doesn’t tolerate noise. This is exactly what we were given, a beautiful room facing the pool in a really quiet area of the complex, which we were exceptionally grateful for.

This hotel has it all, beautiful to look at, great location, lovely plentiful food and drinks and friendly hardworking staff who are all on hand to make your holiday incredible.

As mentioned before we are a special needs family and nothing was too much trouble for the staff to make accommodations for my son to feel comfortable.

There’s a bus stop just outside the front of the hotel which takes you directly into
Paphos in less than 15 minutes, in the same area there is a supermarket, ATM, car hire and lots of restaurants

There’s a pool for everyone, a pirate themed splash park for little ones, a beach effect pool and large deeper quiet pool for a more relaxing swim…indoors there’s a spa with gym and a heated indoor pool.

Large restaurants with indoor and outdoor seating, themed nights with beautiful well cooked food, with lots of choice for all tastes.

And the added bonus Hotel Aliathon is only a very short 20 minute transfer from Paphos airport. Perfect :)

We had an amazing holiday at the Holiday Village Aliathon Ionian Paphos Cyprus

We had an amazing holiday at the Holiday Village Aliathon Ionian Resort, Paphos in September 2023.
The rooms were very spacious, well equipped and extremely comfortable with a good sized balcony.
The overall facilities were excellent with three pool areas, one for young children and families.

The resort has two main restaurant area's, one used for breakfast and lunch which has indoor and outdoor options as does the facility used for dinner. There was plenty of variety and choice of food and drink at every meal time, the themed nights were expertly laid on. The food itself was of a high quality and delicious. Food and drink was available outside of formal meal times as well. The resort was a short walk from the beach and had a number of good bars and restaurants nearby.

The main differentiator for us was the staff who were fantastic and could not do enough to ensure our stay was a memorable one.
Special call outs to Irene, Zoe, Farhad and Tasos who always went above and beyond in making us feel welcome and relaxed.
Thank you to all the staff who all played their part in making it a great holiday, we will definitely return.

My favorite family hotel in Cyprus

My favorite hotel in Cyprus we’ve just booked to go back for the 4th time !! The best for families with children. I travelled with my elderly mother and two children (6&12) all of us had the best time and didn’t want to leave.

The staff are amazing and get to know you over your stay. The barman at the kids pool knew what I was drinking every morning and again in the evening. No request is too much for them.

The guest relations manager is always around and is super helpful.

Rooms are cleaned daily other than Sunday and towels are renewed daily too. We stayed in the fishing village and the apartment was clean (air conditioning in one room could have been a bit better but not enough to raise a concern) the other room was freezing which was nice. Small kitchen which is super helpful with children.

Food is good with plenty of selection for both adults and kids.

Not far from the beach and shops also in walking distance to the harbor if you like a walk.

The kids splash pools amazing although some guests need to put swim nappies on their children!!!

We went just before the holidays and a week into it, plenty of sun-beds and no crazy rush to get them at silly o clock.

I would also like to mention the Tui reps they all work really hard and a special mention to Mylee who helped me get one of my sons diabetic monitors over from the UK which I had forgotten she was absolutely amazing and was so calm when I was in a complete panic!

Just a fabulous hotel and we can’t wait to come back in July 2023 to create more family memories !!!

This hotel is top notch! Staff are amazing and so much to do!

I arrived home on Monday after a week at the Aliathon holiday village! Neither me or my daughter wanted to leave!! We had an amazing holiday, all the staff are brilliant and nothing was ever to much for them! The rooms are cleaned daily and you get fresh towels daily. I enjoyed all the food however my daughter is fussy and stuck to what she knows she likes. The resort is clean and tidy, the only messes are where people don’t clean up their own mess and put their stuff in the bin which there is plenty of around the resort. Me and my daughter enjoyed our time here so much we was home 2 nights and rebooked to go in October! Thank you for having us Aliathon and can’t wait to coming back in October! Would of been sooner if I could 😢😂
