Free daily crochet newsletter

I saw their ad for their daily crochet pattern newsletter. I signed up and love the free crochet patterns. After a week or so I also started getting ads. Some from yarn companies. Most not related to yarn. After a month or so I went to their subscriber center and opted out of the ads. Now I just get the crochet newsletter. They also have a free afghan and kids craft newsletter I enjoy since I have grandkids.

Sounded really interesting

Sounded really interesting. After subscribing I was asked would I like to subscribe to another half a dozen companies and bombarded with a long list of adverts. Every one had another long list of adverts. So sorry, no thank you, just too much information to trawl through

Abuse of trust

I signed up for crochet patterns and allowed notifications.
I expected notifications related to crochet but instead got them about HMRC PPI payments, adverts for AV antivirus and more.
To the owners of this site - when you abuse your customer's trust, you lose WAY more revenue than you'll earn from adverts. Once your reputation is gone, it's REALLY hard to get it back.
