MY MOST USEFUL KITCHEN UTENSIL
Having had Alligator fruit/veg dicers since they first came out in the noughties, I initially used the cheap plastic version to dice the diceable fruit for my daily home-made muesli, then Alligator brought out the amazing metal version. My own must be at least 15 years old, and only now have I had to replace the plastic grid (easily done directly through Alligator). The blades are as sharp as ever. I never get ill and I put this down to eating home-made organic muesli for breakfast every day, and my Alligator is such a time-saver. JUST LOVE IT

Subjec: Request for Refund or Manufacturer Response – Alligator of Sweden Choppert
I purchased the $120+ Alligator of Sweden chopper expecting premium quality and performance. I had been using my previous chopper daily for over a year before it finally failed, so I am very familiar with how these tools should function.
Unfortunately, this product has not met basic expectations.
Tomatoes are crushed rather than cleanly cut, resulting in excessive juice and a messy outcome. Red sweet peppers are extremely difficult — nearly impossible — to chop. The only vegetable that performs adequately is the cucumber.
At this price point, I expected precise blade alignment, sharp cutting edges, and clean, efficient performance. Instead, the unit struggles with common salad vegetables.
Given the premium cost and the clear performance issues, I am requesting either:
• A full refund
or
• A manufacturer response explaining whether this unit may be defective and how this issue will be resolved
Please advise on next steps. I would appreciate a prompt response.

I understand the “karate stroke” technique you described. However, that is exactly how I have been using my previous (much less expensive) chopper for over a year — with a quick, firm downward motion. It worked perfectly and produced clean cuts without crushing.
With the Alligator, even when using a fast “whack,” tomatoes are still being crushed rather than cleanly cut. Juice spreads everywhere, and red sweet peppers remain very difficult to process. The issue does not appear to be technique — it appears to be performance.
At this price level, I expected at least equal, if not superior, results compared to a basic chopper.
Given that the recommended fast motion does not resolve the problem, I am concerned that this unit may be defective.
Please advise on how we can proceed with either inspection, replacement, or refund.

The secret to a perfect cut with the Alligator is speed. Because our blades are engineered for precision, they perform best when they move through the vegetable quickly.
If you press down slowly, the skin of a tomato or pepper can sometimes resist the blade, causing the produce to get stuck or feel difficult to cut. Instead, we recommend using a quick, firm motion—almost like a "karate stroke."
By giving the top a fast "whack," the blades gain the necessary momentum to run swiftly and easily through the vegetables, giving you those perfectly uniform cubes every time.
