All Japan Tours (AJT) - An Excellent Tour Company

Wow! What a superb experience I had with All Japan Tours. I selected a 22-day tour with them followed by two three-day one-on-one tours in Kyoto followed by Tokyo. All of my tours were excellent. Tour value is typically anchored by the quality of the guide and my first guide, Kim, was really remarkable. Kim spoke excellent English and her command of cultural topics – for example, historical dates, geographical data, hotel details and experiences (onsen details for example), etc. were exceptional. In addition, Kim was warm, kind and took care of each client on her tour like she was traveling with her family. Again – I have traveled with tours across the globe and Kim was honestly exceptional. Hopefully, I can travel with her again in the future. My Kyoto guide, Katsumi, was good. His English was decent and we were able to communicate. However, the walking part of this tour overwhelmed me (however, I’m 66). Katsumi was kind and funny. An unfortunate aspect of this tour was that they planned a visit to the Imperial Palace on Monday not realizing that the Palace is closed on Mondays so we were unable to tour the site. My next tour guide in Tokyo was really good. Mitsuru (Mark) spoke excellent English and his command of the sites we visited was detailed. Mark was funny, kind and an excellent guide for Tokyo. In addition, the hotels selected across all tours were super – the rooms were comfortable, clean and well appointed. The tour provided all breakfasts (uniformly excellent) and some lunches and dinners (again – all excellent). I loved the onsen experience with some of the hotels. All in all, I can highly recommend All Japan Tours (AJT) and look forward to traveling with them again.
