I always find the staff at Alloway Timber friendly and helpful. If they dont have what I am looking for they will try there best to point me in the right direction. If anyone ever asks me where to go for timber and building products I always say the same thing, Alloway.

I ordered glazing putty on the website. Money was immediately taken from my credit card. An e-mail was sent thanking me for my order which promised confirmation when order was dispatched. That was the last I heard. After a week waiting my money was refunded to my credit card. No communication of any kind to explain or enable me to seek out an alternative supplier.
Two weeks after placing my order I have now received an e-mail thanking me for my purchase and asking me to review my purchase and the company. Well - I can’t review a product you failed to supply but I can review my experience of dealing with your company. One star for miserable customer service!

UPDATE:

An unfortunate series of events:

Website accepting order for goods that were not stocked in sufficient quantity.

Not offered reduced quantity.

Not told that order had been cancelled - only discovered when I checked my credit card account and discovered money had been refunded.

And (red rag to a bull!) asked to review the product and the company.

To be fair, if I hadn’t been asked to review the company I’d just have gone elsewhere and forgotten about it. As it was I responded with my one star review for miserable customer service. Since then the company has apologised and sought to make amends so I am changing my very critical rating to three stars. I hope the company will improve their website to prevent such problems occurring in the future.
