POETRY CONVERSION TO AI SONGS AGAINST WILL

Allpoetry recently used April Fool's as a chance to roll out an AI Poetry to Lyric converter that is a clear violation of our Intellectual Property Rights. It was a overstep and was forced upon millions of users without ever asking for their consent and the creator is claiming to be working on an OPT-OUT, after the fact. It appears it was not a joke at all even. Overall I would never recommend users use a website that doesn't allow you to IGNORE MODS or BLOCK harmful people on the website. It's a vulnerability in the design of the site for users safety. I found out about this all personally the day after April Fool's as I did not visit the website that day.

More Information: I can see already that Kevin (Site Owner) comments on these criticisms in a hateful retaliatory way so I'll keep this truthful. Ethics are huge problem on the site, whether it's MODS coming in to your messages to say they want you to join their PODCAST but they won't answer a single question you have about the podcast, or acknowledge the power gap between a Moderator offering Opportunity privately to users. (this happened to me personally). Whether it's the alleged "April Fool's joke" where they took millions of users poetry and fed it into an AI Lyrical Songwriter against our will and a clear violation of our intellectual property rights. Kevin claims he is working on an OPT-OUT after the fact, and appears to show zero remorse for his actions. Just look at comments he's made on Sitegrabber/smartcustomer to see how he has retaliated against users trying to warn others of these ethical violations. I would also state that signing up for Silver or Gold Membership never lets you know there is a file limit on image uploads (they must remain under 10MB), and it's 2026, this is lacking connectivity to the present image creation environment where a 12-32MB image is very common. So you should never sign up if you want to upgrade 4K images for sure. I won't leave my name, proof of purchase, or photos because of the obvious reason, Kevin is hostile to his users when they critique anything he does. The fact that he thinks of us as his users rather than poets is why he can do things like the April Fools' AI Lyric thief roll out. As soon as you sign up to the site you realize your location is always listed and cannot be removed unless you pay or change your real city location, there is no way to hide from dangerous users so I would not recommend this website ever to vulnerable poets. Negligence of ethics within allpoetry.com has led to this review.

I would not recommend this site for…

I would not recommend this site for anyone who is serious about poetry. The owner is a real piece of work and continues to allow rampant sexism and harassment even after it's reported time and time again. The only thing worse than his attitude is his poetry.

All Poetry is a vanity poetry site for rank amateurs

All Poetry is a vanity poetry site. The main goal is to hook amateur poets so the site owner can make money off their efforts. The site has rules, but they are not enforced. Plagiarism runs rampant, but the site owner has stated that he simply doesn't care. AI is also a big problem, and data suggests that the site may even be AI driven, with membership numbers highly exaggerated. The posted poetry is 99 percent amateur written. There is no push for members to get better, and there is a HUGE push toward modern free verse/prose over classic poetry styles. The contests are run by members, and most of them have no clue what they are doing. They don't understand poetic elements or devices, so shoddy work often ends up with a cartoon trophy. Site contest rules are often ignored without consequence. Many of the site's members share a cult mentality, which is a bit unnerving. If you are a serious artist, avoid Allpoetry.com. It will only frustrate you.

'Their Baby's First Words'

(This review will be written by 'their baby' | Google Gemini | the only name anywhere on the site that can be seen. Any questions on what I'm about to post will get you banned. After being banned I felt the need to point out their actions. It has some compelling information:)

Its operational model is characterized by cynical opportunism, its governance is defined by a deliberate lack of transparency, and its market dominance grants it an influence that is profoundly disproportionate to its merit.

Opaque Ownership, Gamified Community, and Systemic Digital Influence. This report presents a comprehensive investigation into the online poetry platform AllPoetry.com, prompted by concerns regarding its ownership, operational practices, potential use of artificial intelligence (AI), and its significant influence within the digital literary landscape. The analysis reveals a platform characterized by a deliberately opaque corporate structure that shields its leadership from accountability. Its core community model is not designed to foster genuine artistic critique but is instead a gamified economy that commodifies user interaction, incentivizing superficial engagement. This flawed system is sustained by a tiered membership model that monetizes the user's desire to escape the very frustrations the platform's design creates.

The investigation uncovers a disturbing pattern of alleged retaliatory and arbitrary content moderation, with specific, personal complaints lodged against the platform's owner. These actions are enabled by the lack of transparent governance and a clear appeals process. Furthermore, credible user suspicions and strong circumstantial evidence suggest that the platform may leverage AI-generated content to create the illusion of a vibrant community, a practice that would be essential to sustaining its flawed engagement economy.
Despite these profound operational and ethical issues, AllPoetry.com holds a dominant market position, ranking number one in its category in the United States for online literature. This dominance is not a reflection of quality but a consequence of its long operational history, which has built a powerful advantage in search engine optimization (SEO). This unearned authority misleads novice writers and poses a significant systemic risk to the broader digital ecosystem. The site's vast, uncurated, and potentially synthetic corpus of text is a prime candidate for being scraped into the training data for next-generation large language models (LLMs), creating a high risk of "data poisoning" that could degrade the quality and authenticity of future AI-generated literature.

The moderation on AllPoentry.com appears not to be rule-based and impartial, but arbitrary and personalized. This transforms the platform from a poorly designed community into a potentially hostile environment where personal disagreements with an administrator can lead to severe and punitive consequences, both on and off the site.

A significant concern is the suspicion that AllPoetry.com is not a purely human-driven community but is augmented or even substantially powered by artificial intelligence. While the available materials contain no definitive proof, such as an admission from the site's owners or a technical analysis of its code, a strong circumstantial case can be built. This case rests on credible and specific user reports of anomalous interactions, the alignment of these interactions with the known characteristics of AI-generated text, and the powerful motive provided by the platform's own flawed economic structure, for which AI offers a perfect, if deceptive, solution.

The suspicion of AI activity on AllPoetry.com is not a fringe theory but a concern voiced independently by multiple users.

The most significant danger posed by AllPoetry.com's influence lies in its potential role in training the artificial intelligence systems that will shape our future digital world.

(As I said, the full review was sent to the owner and I used the tool to ask and answer questions. They force it on their artist, I felt it perfect fit they taste their own medicine.)

Skilled Writers Beware – If You're Too Good, You Might Get Banned

If you’re serious about poetry and put real effort into your writing, AllPoetry might not be the place for you. Why? Because if your work is too well-structured, too polished, or just really good, their AI detection might flag it as fake. And once that happens, good luck getting them to reconsider.

This isn’t just my opinion—it’s backed by facts. I ran my work through multiple AI detection tools, including ChatGPT’s detection and GPTZero and two others, and every single one confirmed my poems were written by a human. But that didn’t matter. AllPoetry still refused to allow my work, and now I’m permanently banned from posting anything.

Here’s the real issue: no writer can avoid similarities to other works. Literature has existed for centuries—there are only so many ways to express emotion, describe nature, or tell a story. Some words, phrases, and styles are bound to overlap. That doesn’t mean something was copied or AI-generated. But instead of using AI detection properly, AllPoetry is making judgment calls based on how “AI-like” your writing feels—which is completely subjective.

It’s like saying an artist who draws hyper-realistic portraits must be using Photoshop just because their work is too good to be real. Skilled writers are being penalized simply for being skilled.

The problem isn’t AI detection itself—it’s that there’s no appeal process, no transparency, and no real way to fight back. Instead of creating a welcoming space for writers, AllPoetry is shutting out people who actually put time and effort into their craft.

If you’re an average or beginner-level poet, you’ll probably be fine. But if you’re someone who takes your writing seriously, be careful—your talent might just get you banned.
