Quick Response

Alpha was quick to respond positively to Austin Infiniti when my seat motor failed. Did not have a complete copy of my warranty document. Alpha Rep immediately emailed original agreement.

SCAM! Do not buy their warranty!

I filed a warranty claim on my Infiniti G37 because it over heated. One of the things that needed to be replaced was the radiator thermostat. This item is listed as covered under the warranty. However, if you read the fine print of the contract it states that no parts of the cooling system are covered if the car overheats. I’d love to know when else you would replace the thermostat. They list things that are covered and then list instances where they are not covered, which negates all coverage. This warranty is a SCAM! I’m shocked that anyone has ever had any repairs performed under this warranty. If they won’t pay $500 for a thermostat replacement that is listed in their coverage, they definitely aren’t going to pay for any other issues.

Paul,

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We understand how frustrating it can be when a claim does not result in coverage, especially when the repair involves a component that appears in the covered parts list.

After reviewing your claim and service contract, the repair facility reported that the thermostat failure occurred as a result of engine overheating. While thermostats may be listed as a covered component under certain plans, the contract also outlines specific exclusions. Failures caused by overheating are addressed in the “What Is Not Covered” section and apply to cooling system components when the failure is directly related to an overheating condition. In this instance, the determination was based on the documented cause of failure rather than the part itself.

It may also be helpful to clarify that a thermostat can fail for several reasons, including being mechanically stuck open or closed, clogging, or other mechanical issues. Coverage decisions are based on the reported cause of failure and how it aligns with the terms and conditions of the contract.

If you would like to further review the claim decision or discuss the contract language in more detail, our team is available to talk further at 800-662-5519. We appreciate the opportunity to address your concerns.

Respectfully,
Alpha Warranty Services

Need more repair locations

We live in Bellevue, NE.
The closest Alpha repair center is in Omaha,NE. Travel distance over 12 miles. If vehicle is damaged or leaking, that distance of driving would cause more damage to vehicle. I tried to get a tow truck, but after numerous calls no service was available for next 2/3 days.
Great if you had more service center location!

Absolutely the biggest sham artists on…

Absolutely the biggest sham artists on the planet. They look for every reason not to pay. I've seen income tax refunds with a faster time line. They don't even pay the face value of the contract. Not really sure how these clowns sleep at night.

UPDATE; If you want to look up the contract, its under Todd Runnels,
When I was sold the contract it the dealer stated it covered drive axles, and when your sales company tried to sell me another contract for the same vehicle again a year later he stated it covers drive axles, we have a drive bad drive axle you refuse to replace it under warranty, now we have other unknown problems with the vehicle and question if it will be covered or not?

Be more assuring at the start the work will be covered.

I like how this warranty claim was eventually covered without too much static. However, I wish Alpha would have been more involved at the start to assure the the garage work would be covered instead of waiting until the end to inform me. This would have made the use of this warranty less stressful.

If someone tells you a car warranty is a scam, believe them

When buying my vehicle from St. Charles Mercedes Benz I was sold a warranty from Alpha Warranty Services for over $4,200, and told it covered "everything". OK, we can quickly anticipate that was an exaggeration, but with so much complicated equipment, the gamble seemed like a good wager to be a good value. After my first attempt at a claim, that is far from the truth.

When I had the actual warranty contract sent to me, since what the MB dealership gave me was more promotional than details, I think it would be a smaller document if they listed what IS covered. When I told the gal answering the phone what the issue was, I used the word, "wire". She quickly came back stating that, "In item 14, it states, 'spark plugs and wires'", therefore anything with a wire is not included. Mind you, item 14 has several items separated by commas. Taking one word out of context and elevating it to an exclusion of its own is an enormous stretch. I questioned if her logic held, why didn't the creator of the contract have a specific item, separated by commas, that clearly stated, "anything with a wire". I suggested that she did a word search for "wire", had a match, and therefore anything with a wire is excluded. She essentially agreed. I suggested had I called it a copper filament surrounded by an insulator, the repair would have been covered since there was no match. She seemed proud to use te term, "an exclusionary contract", and proudly shared with me that if a repair could loosely fall into one of the 30 or so bullet points of related items, they were excluded from the warranty. Only if she couldn't find a word that closely watched a word in the 14 -page document would it be covered.

When I asked how to contest the interpretation, she informed me there wasn't one, as if her logic dictated all consideration of coverage and contract interpretation.

So, the moral of the story is not just that you need to read the small print, but realize just about nothing is covered and a mildly educated young girl with a foreign accent is the judge and jury of how the contract will be interpretated.

I strongly feel I was dooped by St. Charles Mercedes Benz and wasted over $4,200. Learn from my mistakes and take a pass, at least if the warranty is from Alpha Warranty Services.

Hi Robert,

We’re sorry to hear about your experience and appreciate you taking the time to share this feedback. We understand how frustrating it can be when the details of coverage aren’t immediately clear, especially after purchasing a vehicle service contract you expected to bring peace of mind.

After reviewing your account, we found that no claim was filed under your contract. It appears there was a misunderstanding during your initial call regarding the type of component in question. The “wires” exclusion your representative referenced applies only to spark plug wires, which are entirely different from the seat wiring harness you were asking about. The wiring harness may still be eligible for coverage under your PriorityOne contract once the issue is properly diagnosed by a licensed repair facility.

We apologize that this wasn’t communicated more clearly at the time of your call. Our customer service teams are being coached to ensure this kind of confusion doesn’t happen in the future.

If you’d like to move forward, please take your vehicle to a repair facility and have them contact us directly once the problem is diagnosed. Our claims team will then review it to determine coverage according to your contract.

We appreciate your feedback. It helps us improve the way we communicate and support our customers. If you have any questions or would like help revisiting this inquiry, you’re welcome to reach out to our team at 800-662-5519.

Sincerely,
Alpha Warranty Services

Very misleading

Very misleading, denied coverage, horrible wait times, rude staffing, and finally…..not worth the extra money on top of your already expensive vehicle. Save the money you would pay them and just put it in a piggy bank for your future repairs. They’ll make you pay for them with or without their coverage.

Sebastian,

Thank you for bringing your concerns to our attention. We’ve reviewed your contract and the associated claim in detail.

Our records show that your contract is an A+ plan, which provides stated (or itemized) coverage for specific listed components. In this case, the repair facility submitted a claim for a water pump and a coolant hose. The water pump and related labor were approved and paid according to the coverage limits outlined in the contract. However, the coolant hose is not listed as a covered component and therefore was not eligible for reimbursement under the plan terms.

We understand your frustration and recognize that vehicle repairs can be stressful. The representative you spoke with explained that Alpha Warranty Services administers the contract but did not sell it directly, as vehicle service contracts are typically purchased through the selling dealership. We are sorry that you felt our representative was rude. We have passed that information along to the customer service team and will take any necessary steps to improve. We remain committed to supporting our customers by processing claims in full accordance with the terms of the coverage purchased.

If you would like to discuss your contract details further or review what is included under your specific plan, our team would be happy to assist. You can reach them at 800-662-5519.
