Great Service. Love our new Ambient WS 2902. Got it in 4 days after ordering. It took about 45 minutes to install and setup on our computer and phones. It replaces an Accurite Iris 5 in 1 station. We had that Accurite for a couple years. One of the sensors went out. We tried to order a replacement part, paid 31.45 for FedEx for a 16.49 part, waiting for 2 months with Accurite's customer service telling us, WE have to contact FedEx and WE have to figure out how to get it. Well, they did us a great favor, if not we might have not researched and ordered a new Ambient Weather system. Our new WS-2902 is like night and day compared to the Accurite Iris 5 in 1. Easy set up, lots more information and we can still add more sensors to get more weather information. For a few bucks more, you get a lot more than with the Accurite Iris 5 in 1. The few extra dollars is well worth it.

Ambient Weather has let me down many times over and wasted countless hours over months and months patiently attempting to work with AWN support over, time I can never get back. I have given the company too many opportunities to count to get it right. They could not. As a former on- camera meteorologist for a major television market and now legacy airline captain I take weather seriously for a living. I expect a company that is supposedly in the business of accurately and reliably capturing weather data and images to also take the weather business seriously. I can say with accuracy they do not present the best equipment and support to allow me to believe they take the weather business seriously. Their best weather stations rely on an archaic DOS like formats that do not incorporate the modern technology of today. They sell weather cameras that are neither weather proof or reliable! AWS claims their equipment can support other weather cameras in addition to the cheap camera products that they peddle. I can tell you after nearly a year of attempting to connect both 3rd party superior cameras to AWN, as well as, AWN equipment, none of it works properly. 4 AWN cameras later and nothing more than errors and failures and a graveyard of electronics and a heap of dissatisfaction I finally forced Ambient Weather to refund the money spent on their equipment that never worked as advertised.
Do not waste your time with Ambient Weather. Look elsewhere for your weather data collection and weather image capturing needs.

I've purchased 3 Ambient Weather station systems over the past 12 years and all have failed in one way or another. I currently have an outdoor weather station and two displays, neither of which work correctly. I will not purchase another one and caution anyone who is interested to not look to this company for support. It does not exist or does not provide meaningful assistance. The only recommendation I received was to purchase another display when the two I have are not working correctly. Not working means there are features that do not show on the display and neither will communicate with the internet. I know how to connect stuff to the internet and both my Ambient Weather stations fail. I have a mast and metal base that are still good. I do not recommend purchasing anything from this company.

I have used many Ambient Weather products over the past 10+ years, and their products have worked well and build very good. Although if you have any issues the support is poor at best. Difficult to get a hold of and rarely respond. I still like the products, but support sucks and wouldn't recommend them.

★☆☆☆☆ Holiday Bait-and-Switch and No Response from Support

Two days before Christmas, this company was advertising a discount. On December 23, the promotion was active and visible. On Christmas Eve, when I went to complete my purchase, the discount had been removed without any notice, end date, or warning.

Removing a promotion at the last minute—especially during the holidays—creates the appearance of a bait-and-switch, as customers make purchasing decisions based on advertised pricing that suddenly disappears at checkout.

I contacted both Support and Marketing to request that the discount be honored, or at minimum to receive an explanation. I received no response whatsoever. Not even a courtesy reply.

If the promotion had clear terms or an expiration date, that would be understandable. If they had responded and declined, that would at least demonstrate professionalism. Instead, the lack of transparency and complete silence reflects poorly on how this company handles customer concerns.

Requested Resolution:
I am requesting that this company honor the discount as it was advertised on December 23, or provide an equivalent credit or adjustment.

Potential customers should be aware that advertised discounts may disappear without notice and that reasonable customer concerns may go unanswered.

I purchased and installed an Ambient Weather station WS5000 in December, 2022. Two weeks ago it stopped reporting outside temperature or solar radiation (W/M2) values. I contacted tech support (Matt Murphy, ticket #234925). Following the reset instructions that he provided failed to solve the problem, Matt advised I just buy a new sensor array because the old one is unrepairable.That is pretty much replacing the entire weather station. Turns out the negative reviews I read were correct – they don’t last and are unrepairable. I gambled on this product and lost. $450 is too much to spend on a weather station with a one year warranty that only lasts a couple of years.

WS2903 base outside units last less than a year, because of where we live it cost more to do a warranty return than it does to replace the unit. Will probably not purchase again because of the inflexible warranty policy.

Horrible instructions how to connect to wifi. Tech support at Ambient is non-existent. Would never buy a product from them again.

We brought a WS-2902C with a weather camera, and while it looks good, it's not lived up to what we expected from a several-hundred-dollar weather station.

The camera is massively over-exposed when looking into the setting sun, rendering it practically unusable for what it was bought for. This was brought to the attention of AW immediately after installation who stated the "lens flare" is completely normal and the camera is not defective - despite side-by-side images with our existing camera in exactly the same spot being far superior and it not suffering the same problem.

The lightning sensor has never detected any strikes, despite changing sensitivity levels and batteries on multiple occasions and several storms over the last year passing through. And yes, it is connected to the display! :P

And to top it off, at the 14 month mark, the outdoor temperature & humidity sensor failed and requires replacement. As the warranty is only 12 months, they charge you for it. This is a $40AUD part, but AW want to charge more than $70AUD for shipping - so nearly $120 total, for a $40 part. And you can't buy the sensor buy itself, you have to buy the complete enclosure.

Finally, we left a less-than-stellar review on their own website detailing the initial problems (Camera, lightning sensor not detecting, etc) and they are clearly censoring anything less than 4-star reviews, as ours has never been posted.

USE CAUTION - you could probably do better with a Davis Instruments or similar package. Pricier, but you get what you pay for...

I contacted their customer service at the end of January and it took almost one month for them to get back to me with a proposed fix. The fix didn't work, I responded 24 hours later to let them know this and since then (2 plus weeks ago) have not heard from them. Tried calling them and their customer service line says there is no-one available to talk to me. Worst possible customer service company I have come across.

Ordered sunday, delivered to the UK on Thrs, easy to assemble and setup

Had WS 200 for six months when it stopped working. Followed the trouble shooting guide, all the screen does is say "starting", beeps once again and repeats. This unit is junk would not buy again

Received notification today that if we want alerts from the weather station I paid good money for, they gather free weather intelligence from over MY wifi, now I need to start paying for alerts. Absolutely ridiculous. Bait and switch.

Quite frankly they don't deserve even one star. Truly the worst customer service and support of any product I've ever experienced. Defective products were sold to me and their customer service seems to treat you like you must be wrong and they are reluctant to exchange or accept return. By the way, you have to call them and be put on hold -- for a long time. They will not respond to e-mails even though they confirm receipt and issue a ticket number. Also, the fit and finish of one product (weather station mount) arrived scratched and the holes drilled in the mount are too small for the supplied screws. Really poor quality control. I will stay away from this company in the future.

It's so refreshing to find a company that truly values their customers and stands behind their products. My Ambient Weather Station suddenly stopped working after months of dependable data. I've become a bit addicted to watching the station monitor. Being without the morning weather data for any period of time was frustrating for me.

Fortunately I was able to reach Ambient Weather tech support by phone. An actual technician, "Odell", answered the phone, talked me through the issues, and ultimately replaced my entire array under warranty.

In a time of disposable items and disposable customers, Ambient Weather made me brand loyal for life.

What great customer service! My brother who lives in South Africa wanted one, he was in contact with them in regards to would it work there etc and each time they replied to him efficiently.
I had to contact them to know what was allowed in my suitcase, if any dangerous flammable etc that possibly I may not be able to fly with. They again responded that they personally didn't know but would check. Within in a day I got a response!
