If I could give Americo a zero I would

If I could give Americo a zero, I would. I've had an awful experience trying to transfer my 403b from Americo to a different account. First, Americo didn't post my current account online because it's "too old"." As a result, I decided to transfer the account to a company with better options since I couldn't easily track it. Second, Americo only sends out a statement once a year and won't let you request more frequent statements. Third, I've gone through the entire process of completing forms and permissions, and submitting a letter of acceptance which took me quite a bit of time. I submitted everything, but didn't receive any communication until over a month later that the letter of acceptance was incorrect. When I asked the representative what needed correcting, she said she couldn't access it. This was untrue since I then contacted the account it was supposed to be transferred to, and the account manager and I contacted Americo to address the issue. This time the Americo representative was able to identify the problem and helped us resolve it. The entire process and customer service have been extremely frustrating and about as clear as mud. I certainly will never invest with them again, and for sure won't purchase their insurance.

Americo is Deceptive and Unethical.

Americo is deceptive and undoubtedly unprofessional. I had an agent, Chris Styles, call me about life insurance for my husband but ended up pressuring me into an IUL policy. After researching the product, I canceled the policy the very next day, which was April 22, 2025.I had spoken with Pamela in customer service, and she assured me that the policy would be canceled.

Americo withdrew $370.97 from my bank on April 29, 2025. I immediately called Americo and spoke to Gabriela in customer service, she said that the cancellation never processed and told me it would take 10 to 20 days to process.

I called Americo on May 8, 2025, and spoke to Patty in customer service. I wanted to make sure my policy was actually canceled. Patty told me that it would take 10-20 business days for the $370.97 to post to my account. I was absolutely furious at this point. I told Patty to have a supervisor call me, and she assured me that a supervisor would be in touch within 24 hours. I still have not received a call.

I texted the agent who signed me up for the policy, and he said he would reach out to find out what happened. I still have heard nothing. This company is deceptive and will try to take your money. I'm in the process of launching an investigation with the Maryland Insurance Fraud Division. Never do business over the phone with an insurance company.

I have read numerous negative reviews regarding Americo. They prey on the elderly and are completely ruthless! Stay away from this company, or you will regret it!
