Cancelled my Dental Policy today. America's Dental only paid $60 of $210 they said they would pay for cleaning and x-rays.
LIARS!
Did not receive information they said they sent me.
I wish I would’ve read the reviews before I bought this dental insurance. I’ve been paying for it over a year and I go into the doctors office to get x-rays and exam. She submitted it to the insurance company and they paid a measly two bucks. I would never recommend the dental insurance. It’s really really sad that they will scam people like us.
When you’re buying dental insurance, make sure there’s no waiting. Period to get the work done and also no missing tooth clause I’m learning about this.
They deserve a Zero star. I'm retired and don't even know how they started charging me. I have never received any documents regarding a Policy, only a couple of letters complaining about no payment and that my account would be closed...But then kept on charging my Bank anyway with amounts from $69.85 to $139.70 and then $209.55, at which point, because my account with Deerwood Bank was way overdrawn the Bank closed my account! I have the Fraud department looking into this and I want every Dollar charged to be refunded to Deerwood Bank Stat!
Closed my account and charged me 25 dollars with no notice and sent my money to another company I think they own or are in cahoots with. How can a company take money from an investment authorized by me without my permission?
These people are thieves, zero customer service, and are on the threshold of being prohibited from offering there products in Oregon.
After purchasing an immediate withdrawal annuity (I’m 70), with $250,000.00 cash. My agent, who called the home office, was told, “overnight the application and check before Labor Day, we will set it up for 9/1 payout monthly”. Needless to say this was a straight up lie, passed on to me. Writing this today on 10/17, with no payment, other than looking at this “account online”, showed they waited until 9/11 to set up policy, disbursement entered 10/12, nothing. Granted, Federal Holiday, and ACH process time, but the high pressure tactic of “you’re losing $54.00 a day”. I wrote the check 8/27 and it was overnighted to the home office before Labor Day. I have file a complaint with the State of Oregon’s Insurance Commissioner and the matter is under investigation. Meanwhile I don’t have my my $250K, which could at a minimum could be sitting collecting 5% in a variety of short term banking options.
My claim was denied and then reconsidered and denied again. They said I didn't need the service provided. I am assuming they wanted me to continue in pain from a cracked tooth. They were good for many years, but 2024 has been one hassle after another. I DO NOT recommend them!
Denied a claim after the dentist office had called twice to get pre-authorization. Stay away from these scam artists!!
$65 per month for 18 months. Never touched the policy for the first year of ownership. I have no known dental issues. Quick visit to the dentist, a couple of x-rays and this company pays $2.00. Let me emphasize $65 per month for 18 months and this company pays 2 bucks for a $118 visit. They are essentially unregulated in the ultimate nanny state of California. Cannot recommend this company, in fact, urge a boycott or simply bypass Ameritas as an option.
I was working with Bill Akins, who sold this annuity from Ameritas thru AMBA which is an organization made up of retired teachers. I was told by BIll that I would have a guaranteed competitive interest rate of not less than 5% per year growth. When I received my 2 year report, I had less than I originally started with. Bill had told me that if I gave him $500 up front, I would have the opportunity to earn more in the first 2 years. Essentially, the $500 was his commission so, in fact, he did earn more in the first 2 years, but I earned nothing. How can that be? The AMBA website stated that I would earn a guaranteed competitive interest rate, but it didn't happen. Now, if I get out, I have to surrender another 10% to do that. So where is my money going? It seems to me that the financial advisors are doing well by having dissatfied customers as the 10% we lost by exiting the annunity is also distributed back to the company and I would assume, share with their financial adivsors. My friend invested even more than I did and has lost thousands. It seems that this is a ploy to swindle elderly people's money rather than to help them make money. During this same time frame from 3/2022 to 3/2024 the S&P increased 19% and the Dow was up 16%. What kind of an financial advisor puts money where it doesn't earn money in that kind of a market. Something very shady is happening in this scenario. I would love to hear from others who have experienced this same thing. I'm sure there are many out there.
My mother's insurance policy changed to an Ameritas dental policy at the beginning of the year. However she is in the middle of work with implants and they say that because she wasn't insured through THEM at the beginning of the work they REFUSE to pay for the continuation of the work. My mother is elderly and on a limited budget. She bought dental insurance years ago to help with these costs. I called to speak with customer service and they said that "is just their policy" even though to do implants is a lengthy time and my mom had no choice with the change of insurance. So basically they will pay NOTHING!
they do not help you. been trying over a year to get my 401k, but literally no access to my money.
I would give them NEGATIVE stars if possible! The dental coverage through #NAR for #Realtors was NOTHING like what was described to be verbally by by #RealtorsMarketplace rep OR in WRITING contained in my Certification of Coverage. Impossible to speak to a LIVE Claims Rep after you enroll and give them your credit card#, I have literally been trying today FOR 4 HOURS. They will offer to CALLBACK, when they do, I'm ALWAYS #1 in the QUE, and 45 mins later, I'm still holding. I finally called my IN NETWORK provider and they told me EVERY claim they currently have with #Ameritas is OUTSTANDING & they are getting out of their network because of it! I was visiting a Periodontist 100 miles from my town to be "In Network". I put down $400 deposit and paid $110 for exam and Xrays I did NOT need bc I have them from my dentist already paid for BY ME. ****DO NOT GET INSURANCE WITH THIS COMPANY, YOU WILL LIVE TO REGRET IT*** I am contacting the National Association of Realtors to plead with them to find us another reputable dental insurance provider, PLEASE!!
I was devastated to learn that my life insurance policy, which my father had arranged for me when I was a child, was altered by Ameritas Life Insurance without my knowledge or consent. Upon discovering the policy after my father's passing, I was informed by an Ameritas representative that I could either surrender the policy for a mere $800 or retain it with my wife as the beneficiary for a $5000 value. After choosing the latter option, I recently contacted Ameritas three years later, after a prolonged game of phone and email tag, only to be informed that the policy had lapsed and that there was no money left to claim. Despite their claims that they had contacted me earlier to inform me of the policy's expiration, I have never received any such notification and they have no evidence to support their assertion. I would rate their performance with negative stars if that were possible.
