Extremely disappointing experience – item received was not the item advertised
I am extremely disappointed with my experience with this seller and TikTok Shop.
I purchased a blue bag after seeing it advertised and shown by the seller. However, when my order arrived, the bag I received was not the same bag that was advertised to me. The difference is not simply a matter of personal preference — the bag I received is visibly different, including the shade of blue and its overall appearance. I have photographs and screenshots comparing the item that was advertised with the item that was actually sent.
I contacted TikTok Shop and provided evidence of the discrepancy, explaining repeatedly that I was not requesting a change-of-mind refund. I simply wanted to return an item that I believe was not supplied as advertised. Despite providing evidence and attempting to resolve the matter through the appropriate process, my dispute was rejected.
What has made the situation particularly frustrating is that I have not been given a satisfactory explanation as to why the evidence showing that the advertised bag and the bag I received are different has been disregarded. I have repeatedly asked for the opportunity to return the item, but I am still being left without a satisfactory resolution.
I am extremely disappointed with both the seller’s handling of the situation and the way TikTok Shop has dealt with my complaint. Customers should be able to expect that the item they receive corresponds with what was advertised and shown to them before purchase.
I am now having to consider escalating the matter through my payment provider and the appropriate consumer protection channels.
I would strongly recommend that anyone considering purchasing from this seller carefully checks exactly what is being shown and keeps screenshots and recordings of the listing before making a purchase. I genuinely hope this situation can still be resolved, but so far my experience has been extremely frustrating and disappointing.
