I have been using the ancestral balm for almost a year now and I am only going onto my third pot and these were used by myself and my son. I use it every night and one small bit goes such a long way! When my son gets a breakout, he puts it on and it clears it straight away. He cut himself really badly shaving and I put this on his jawline and by the next day it had completely healed and I am not exaggerating! I also ordered a balm for my sister in law in Croatia and she was not notified when it was delivered, which was on Croatias post not this side and it was returned, when I emailed regarding this it was dealt with straight away and the most wonderful customer service who told me they would be sending it again. I have nothing but good things for this company and can't wait to try all the other product's!

The balm has a very beefy smell so don’t fall for the reviews that state it doesn’t! The deodorant is very rough to go on , it is not smooth. I reported these issues to customer service telling me they can’t take the returns!! So why does it state on their site 30 day satisfaction guarantee???

I’m now on my third pot of Ancestral Cosmetics’ Tallow & Honeydew Balm, which probably says it all! I absolutely love this product. At 62, my skin needs a little extra help, and I genuinely feel this balm works wonders overnight. My skin feels beautifully soft, nourished and cared for, and I really notice the difference when I use it.

I’ve also used their natural sun balm throughout the summer and have been equally impressed. I love knowing that I’m using simple, natural ingredients on my skin, and it feels lovely to apply.

I also have to mention their excellent customer service. A recent order was accidentally sent to the wrong address, and they couldn’t have been more helpful. They responded to my messages the same day and quickly sent out a replacement, which arrived in time for my holiday — something I really appreciated.

Wonderful products from a company that genuinely seems to care about its customers. I would happily recommend both the Tallow & Honeydew Balm and the sun balm, and I’ll certainly be ordering again!

I bought this as i have very dry skin, i am a 57yr and i have alqays looked after my face since i was 16rs old, cleansed and moisterised! And always used the same name starting with N....! And has done me well, but as i have got older i have realised i need something more! That can get into the finer lines that will eventually grow deeper!! And i will be honest i brought this product 6 weeks ago and i thought yea lets give it a go, i wanted too give it a go because of all the natural ingredients, and let me tell you!! Its helped my wrinkles be more less noticed for me! Especially around my lip and eye area! So now i have ordered another jar! Honestly for me this works i put it on at night after cleansing my face!! But i do still use my N.... hand cream on my face in the day, but this is a brilliant balm or whatever you want too use it for! And as far as im concerned it works!! For fine lines and a little bit of plumping!!!

I had a minor problem which they sorted out immediately. They’re great people to deal with and fantastic customer service.
The products are great quality.

I’ve seen all the ads about tallow and I thought I’d chance it , myself my husband and my son (19) have been using it , we really like it , my skin feels and looks great , and I’m happy to be eliminating a few more chemicals from my life !!

Excellent customer service, prompt response to emails. Have cancelled (due to finances) and then renewed my subscription no problems. The product hasn't cured my psoriasis but it does calm it and soothe it, so I use it most days.

I have nearly finished my first jar. I have just ordered another. Im really happy with the original Tallow and Honey. I do love the sun and found this cream really beneficial as very moisturising. Great under make up and i use as a primer. I use it as a barrier against the cold in the winter too. I don’t find it a wonder cream but so good at hydrating my face that I intend to carry on using it.
Customer service is first class so all in all very happy with this.

The customer service is great, they always get back to you!! And the facial moisturiser is just amazing, NOT oily or smells funny, which i was expecting. It soaks into your skin, a great base to then apply my makeup, and a lovely light fragrance. It last ages too as you only need a little, although i went through this jar quicker because i used it on some sunburn( it really helped with that too!)
Ordering my next jar i have also added the dry oil spray- i cant wait to try it😊

What a great company. Customer service is amazing. They are so helpful. The products are gorgeous. The tallow balm smells lovely and my face already has less wrinkles and my neck is smoother. It’s the only product I’ve found which smoothes out the lines on my neck.
My 21 year old daughter is now pinching it and her skin is the opposite. It’s helping her spots so it really is an amazing product.

The tallow balm is amazing. It’s reduced the appearance of fine lines and lots of people have commented on how good my skin looks. I also had an issue in that my package was stolen and I was sent a new balm with no issues even though it wasn’t their fault. Special thanks to Travis for helping with this.

I love the products I have really sensitive skin and I feel immediately hydrated and nourished especially at this time of menopause and constantly feeling dry!! I used the sun balm during a hike in the summer and I have very pale fair skin and for the first time in a long time did not burn providing I reapplied sensibly and I also achieved a nice colour.
The creams are greasy and can leave grease marks but that is the choice you make if you want clean products that feed the skin without chemicals. One day perhaps they can find a way to make it less greasy naturally;)
The service is amazing and the delivery time always efficient. I love small companies producing clean products to ensure the health of all human beings and that care!
I would love one day for a tinted cream and lip balms in colour…

My order was mixed up. I sent a message to the company, and someone got back to me in a matter of hours and straightened it out. I was very impressed by their customer service. After using their tallow for a few days, I'm equally impressed by the quality of their product. My skin feels and looks smooth and hydrated.

Great product and great customer service! After a mishap on my part, not only did they respond timely, they also helped me out in a speedy time frame. So, 5 stars for a lovely product (I panic about when getting low!), but also customer service who genuinely care about their customers!😁

Really good customer service when responding to a question I had, the staff in the help center seem to understand that it’s the customer that counts (in my experience of my encounter with them)

The delivery and use of the website was excellent and the face balm I can truly recommend as being something that does not flare up after immediately applying it like some other well known brands

You pay for what you get and I will be coming back for more and also after trying to convince some family members to try and buy!

I've bought various products from this great Irish business for a while now and the Tallow Body Cream in particular is exceptional. Everything about Ancestral Cosmetic's founder story, ethos, sourcing etc. aligns with my consumer values AND the products do exactly what they say on the jar! I have very dry skin and use the body cream on my body and face with excellent results. The customer service is personal and authentic and I find the special offers to be incredible value. Anyone wanting to be part of the movement to escape the stranglehold corporations marketed up as self care brands have on us can confidently buy from Ancestral Cosmetics and enjoy both clear skin and a clear conscience!

I contacted Ancestral Cosmetics because I wanted to understand the difference between their face cream and body cream and whether the difference was mainly the price. I thought this was a perfectly reasonable question to ask, particularly as the products appeared quite similar to me.
Unfortunately, I found the responses from the founder rude and dismissive.

This was our exchange:
Me:
“Hi, Can you please tell me what is the difference between the face and the body …”

The founder:
“Face creams are made for the face, thicker and more concentrated.
Body creams are made for the body, softer, more spreadable and larger in size.

I then asked for clarification because, from the information on their website, they appeared to be the same or very similar:

I was genuinely interested in understanding the products and potentially buying them. I wasn’t being rude or confrontational; I was simply asking the company to explain the difference between two products they sell.

I found “Read better " an unnecessarily rude and dismissive response to a customer asking a straightforward question. If there are meaningful differences between the formulations, I would have appreciated having those differences explained rather than being spoken to like this.

Whatever the quality of the products may be, this interaction has unfortunately put me off. Why would they not be transparent and clear?

Good customer service matters to me, especially when I’m simply asking for information to make an informed purchase.

Good product for dry mature skin, came quickly. I noticed that some people it did not suit. If you Google tallow it is not suitable for people with more oily skin, so use on body rather than face.
Beware of buying cheaper harvest and hive, this comes from either china or USA.
Definitely recommend Ancestral Tallow and honey which I use.

For years I’ve suffered with Actinic Keratosis and have endured several painful and expensive cryotherapy treatments. Started using the balm 6 months ago and I’m almost completely cured. My niece is now using it and her excema has improved immensely. Apparently I look younger too!

This is by far the best facial product I've ever used. The smell is great, it isn't too greasy and absorbs well. The tub lasts for ages. I even purchased the sun balm and lib balm which are also great.
