The actual company setup process with…

The actual company setup process with Ajman NuVentures Centre Free Zone (ANCFZ) was smooth overall. Razaz was responsive, helpful, organised, and communication throughout the incorporation process was very good. As a first-time founder moving to the UAE from the UK, they helped me get my company incorporated while I was still overseas.

However, the reason for the lower rating is because I was never informed about the mandatory UAE corporate tax registration deadline, which later resulted in my company receiving a AED 10,000 fine from the Federal Tax Authority.

What makes this especially frustrating is that Ajman NuVentures Centre Free Zone knew from the beginning that I would not even be arriving in the UAE until March, while my company was incorporated in January. By the time I physically landed in the UAE, the deadline had already passed.

I only later received a message in April saying I should complete the registration “to avoid a fine” — but by that point, the fine had effectively already been triggered.

My issue is not that compliance requirements exist. My issue is that when someone pays a professional incorporation/free zone service in a foreign country, especially as a first-time business owner unfamiliar with the UAE system, critical compliance obligations and deadlines should be proactively explained.

The most disappointing part has been the refusal to acknowledge any responsibility whatsoever for the omission, despite knowing my timeline and circumstances from the start.

I still believe Razaz and the team were professional and helpful in many ways, but I would strongly advise future clients to independently verify all UAE tax and compliance obligations themselves rather than assuming every important deadline will automatically be communicated during the setup process.
