Anderson Flooring, Inc.
I would have written this review even if the company, Anderson Flooring, Inc. (Virginia Beach, VA) had reached out to ask how I felt about the stair restoration job they did for me. No one did! I was going to reach out to the owner and give him a heads up regarding this review. I could not imagine that he would be ok with what his employees were doing in his company’s name! Well, come to find out, the owner came to my house to pick up the final check! I had no idea it was him! He didn’t ask to see the project, or how I felt about the project. Nothing! Well ok then! Unfortunately for them, I’m retired and have some time on my hands! Also, I do depend on reviews, and I wish that someone would have given me a heads up! It would have saved me a lot of problems and headaches!!!!!!!!!!!!
I’m going to stick to the facts as much as possible. But please know…. This was definitely the worst experience I have had as a homeowner, and I would NOT recommend this company AT ALL!!!!! Unfortunately, I couldn't post the pictures of the link here. We know that pictures are worth a thousand words. But see my Google review for the pics.
First, they estimated the project would take 7 days. Give or take a few days. No problem, right! It took approximately 7 weeks (May 27 – July 12). The wrong products were ordered, people didn’t show when they said they would, my project wasn’t a priority and so on. I must shout out the builder, Tom! He was great and was always on time and kept me updated. Otherwise, everything else was just horrible. I was constantly having to reach out for status updates. I was told before I agreed to the project that I could pretty much get any color stain I needed to compliment my flooring. The night before the stainers told me that wasn’t so. Anyway… long story short. The stain was horrible. See first dark blue picture! Not at all what I was shown as a sample. Holes were left in the stair treads – I had to fill w/ wood filer (googled that!). The paint job left a lot to be desired. There is stain/paint splatter on my floors that I still can’t get up. They did remove the dark stain off at my request. Now the wood is not in the best shape. The new stain isn’t taking properly! Just too much to type. I am currently trying to fix the stairs myself. With the help of YouTube and my good old dad advising me, I’m getting it done. See the last few pictures w/ the lighter blue color. You wouldn’t expect to have to do anything after paying over $10K, right? SMH! And I know you ask why I paid!? Well, I didn’t want the fight! This had gone on long enough and I just wanted them out of my house! Lesson learned!
