Use MAL instead

Toxic mods, ridiculous criteria for database submissions and I literally get rate limited CONSTANTLY just going through my list. Also the 2.2k minimum characters for a review is such an arbitrary and ridiculous amount. Just a miserable experience overall.

A great alternative to MAL

A great alternative to MAL, better UI and such. There is only one thig missing and that is the ability to export your list. There is only an import feature which I believe is to keep people on their website, so I still keep my MAL updated in case I need to move website as MAL has list export function.

Superior Anime tracking website…

I've used both My Anime List and Anime News Network to track my anime and manga progress in the past. But both of them were subpar compared to the experience Anilist presents. Filtering and browsing is so much convenient and the community is much more friendlier. Stats section helps to recognize your tastes better.

Useful

Very useful site for rating your favourite anime and slowly creating your insane anime and manga list.

Much much better than MAL

Much much better than MAL. Even ignoring the UI, anilist provides a much more easier navigation, a better search engine, an extremely reliable API (MAL API acts like its made by a toddler) and also has a lot of non-japanese content as well. This is definitely the best mainstream Anime Tracking website as of now

I always rec this site to animanga friends

The design of the site is very clean, minimalistic and stylish! There are no ads at all, you can fully design your profile to your liking, view in light or dark mode, participate in forums, and send people messages publicly or privately.

I love the extensive search bar feature (which delves into separate categories for anime, manga, people, staff, animation studio, based on what you searched).

The real winner for me, as a reader, is that there is so much manhwa and manhua included in the database (in contrast to MAL, which is lacking on korean and chinese manga)!

I've never had a bad experience, and the users are generally friendly (if you know who and how to interact).
Overall great site to keep track of animanga!

Great alternative to MAL

Great alternative to MAL. UI is cleaner, and it does keep getting better. It's not perfect, but it's free and with no ads. Great place to keep track of your anime and manga, as well as to socialize.
