Horrible company!

Contacted Ankarsrum to start a return on my mixer as it didn't work as promised and definitely not to my liking and needs. I was told I could return it but the cost to do so would be $198.50, I find this outrageous and would definitely NOT recommend this mixer. If you have doubts go with KitchenAid or another company as Ankarsrum does not seem to treat its customers fairly!!!

Dispatch info would be nice

I ordered one of their mixers based on reviews of the quality of the dough mixer. I placed the order Sunday night. I the. Read the reviews on trust pilot and was worried if it would ever show.
It has turned up two days after ordering it, got a message from DPD with a 2 hour time slot and arrived bang on time.
I would have given 5 stars but there was no dispatch notification which would be great to know it’s on the way or even tracking information.
The product itself is great, built to last and a seven year motor warranty so I am looking forward to many years of bread making.

You can't count on a 7-year warranty

We bought our lovely Ankersrum in 2020, and have enjoyed eating baked goods from the machine for 5 years. This year the machine started to make noise and make strange noises, and it was natural for us to send the machine for repair to Christian in Aarhus, who is the importer, and it was no problem since the machine was still under warranty. The day after it was sent, Christian wrote back that unfortunately the machine could not be repaired under warranty, as it had sucked some flour dust into the intake, but he could change the motor for 800 kr. We chose to have that done because we want to continue using the machine.
But I sit back and think how you can use a mixer for 5 years without there being flour dust in the air that can be sucked in, it is probably almost impossible.

Non-existent customer support

I received a damaged dough roller with my brand new machine and I immediately emailed Ankarsrum to request a replacement. They advertise a 7 year warranty, so this shouldn't be an issue, right? You would certainly hope so with how much their machines cost.

But what good is a 7 year warranty if the customer service department is unresponsive and generally seems to have a disdain for their customers?

I have been patient, I have assumed the best intentions, I have given them every benefit of the doubt, but they've repeatedly failed to live up to the standards of customer service that are present even on AliExpress, never mind the premium brand they pretend to be.

Whenever they asked for something I would promptly respond with whatever they requested, then they would go on to ignore me for a week or more, I've had to nag them every few days to get any kind of response at all.

They've asked for photos, they've asked for my invoice, they asked for my shipping address and they assured me, in no uncertain terms, that they would ship out a replacement part. This was over 2 weeks ago and they haven't responded since.

This is by far the most terrible customer service department I've ever had the displeasure of interacting with. Their 7 year warranty is worthless when they have no intention of honoring it, especially when it's something as trivial as a replacement piece of plastic that's worth $5.

It's not even about the cost of the replacement part, it's about the principle at this point.

Above all, I resent them for the fact that they've wasted a month of my time instead of just being up front with the fact that they don't have any intention of honoring their warranty.

Hi!

Thank you for writing to us about your issue!
We are very sorry about this. It is a very unfortunate situation since we do not have a distributor or any retailer network in Slovenia. So it was a bit tricky situation to handle. I just talked to my colleague and the dough roller is on its way to you directly from Sweden instead and we hope it will arrive shortly.

Wish you a great day!

I purchased an Ankarsum kitchen…

I purchased an Ankarsum kitchen machine in Denmark, but i should have done a bit more research before I did that. It is not very safe if you have child around as the bowl is spinning from the outside so if you get your finger closer it can hit it very bad. Also, it is not the most efficient product i would say… cheaper brands like kitchenaid or kenwood does a better job.
When i messaged to their customer service that it takes ages until the machine can do something with the dough and it requires manual intervention quite often, the man from CS almost got offended that How I dare to say that this product is not working well when he sold so many of these…. Well, horrible customer service and they act like you are one of their employees who is not allowed to say anything negative about the product. Save some trouble and time for yourself and avoid this brand.
