Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback. We're really sorry to hear that our protein wasn't to your taste and that you were disappointed with your purchase.

We completely appreciate that taste is very personal, and because our beef protein is made from natural ingredients without artificial flavourings or sweeteners, it has a different taste and texture to many conventional whey proteins. While many of our customers enjoy this more natural approach, we understand that it won't suit everyone's preferences.

Our protein was actually developed by Josh and Izzi in their kitchen at home, so we're genuinely proud of the taste and quality they've created.

Some customers find they enjoy our protein more when it's blended into smoothies with ingredients such as banana, berries or honey, or used in recipes like pancakes, brownies or other baked goods. You may also find that a different flavour from our range is better suited to your taste.

We understand this was coming from a good place of trying to help others, however we do want to clarify a few things, as some of the information here does not accurately reflect our Grass-fed Beef Protein. We completely understand why this has happened, and we’d love to help make things clear.

After investigating this issue we’ve identified a labelling discrepancy, and the information on the protein bag is different to the correct information on the website. This is something we’re amending immediately. Yes indeed, Beef Protein does contain collagen; as collagen naturally occurs in beef and our protein powder is made from meat left on the bone. However, instead of being a negative, this is an additional benefit, meaning the protein powder supports joints, skin, gut health AND muscle mass, making it essentially a more well-rounded and supportive source of protein overall. Regarding the leucine content, although it can be lower in Beef Protein compared to Whey, which many people find harder to digest, a double blind, placebo controlled study (linked below) shows that Beef Protein is just as effective as whey protein in supporting lean muscle mass and fat loss, and in this case it can be even more effective: https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC4595383/.

Hi Fi,

I am incredibly sorry to hear about your experience, and would like the opportunity to change that. We appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback with us.

Our Beef Protein powders don’t come with a scoop, unless it’s your first order, which in your case it was. Upon looking into your order, and support ticket with our team, I could see that your order showed the scoop had been “added”. We asked if the parcel had been tampered with to try and understand if the scoop fell out or just wasn’t added by our distributor. But upon investigating with our packing team, all packed orders are recorded, and we were able to see that the scoop was indeed added to the box. Unfortunately, something happened along the way and it did not arrive to you.

I am very sorry that the code didn’t apply/work when you tried to add it to your order. Having looked at your account I can see that you received your welcome code email and that you’ve never used the code before. This should have been retroactively applied and you refunded the difference.

I can confirm that you have, as of today June 17th, been sent a new scoop and sent a refund for the discount you tried to apply to your order. I hope this helps.

This is not the experience we want our customers to have with us. I’ll be reaching out via email to you just to touch base and hope that we can find a better resolution.

Hi Ollie,

Thank you for taking the time to leave such detailed feedback. We’re really sorry to hear that your experience with the product and that it fell short of your expectations, especially after your positive first impressions with the packaging and delivery.

We completely understand your frustration around both the mixing experience and the flavour. Our protein powders are made very differently from many mainstream protein products, using minimally processed ingredients and without artificial thickeners, gums, or sweeteners. Because of this, the texture and flavour profile can feel quite different from heavily processed whey shakes. In terms of the smell, as it is made from beef bones with meat left on them, and some customers have commented on a slight beef scent compared to the usual whey protein, so there can be an adjustment period. That said, the smell isn’t a strong one and we get very few complaints about it.

Our Madagascan Vanilla Beef Protein is made using real food ingredients, so the flavour is naturally much more subtle and less sweet than many whey proteins that rely on synthetic sweeteners and flavourings. We appreciate this can take some getting used to, and we fully understand that it may simply not suit everyone’s preference.

For best results, we recommend using 3 level APE scoops (24g protein) with around 75-125ml of liquid, with milk, which generally gives the smoothest consistency and flavour. We also recommend adding the powder before the liquid to help with blending. If you prefer a slightly sweeter taste, many customers enjoy adding a little raw honey, banana, or frozen berries.

We also understand your comments around value and protein per serving. Our products are positioned differently from many ready-made supermarket shakes, with a strong focus on ingredient quality, sourcing, and formulation rather than low-cost mass production. That said, we completely appreciate that value is personal and ultimately needs to feel worthwhile from your perspective.

Regarding refunds, our policy does limit returns on opened products for hygiene and safety reasons. However, we don’t ever want customers to feel unsupported, and we’d genuinely appreciate the opportunity to help further if you were open to getting in touch. Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback, and we’re really sorry to hear both that the flavour wasn’t what you were hoping for and we are incredibly sorry for the delay in replying to your email. We completely understand how frustrating that must have felt from your side. After looking into this, it appears your original message was unfortunately missed by the team, and we’ve since put additional monitoring measures in place internally to help prevent this happening again in future. Despite the delay, we’d still really like the opportunity to put this right for you.

With regard to the taste & flavour issue you experienced, our Raw Maple & Cacao Beef Protein is made with high-quality, minimally processed ingredients, so the flavour profile is naturally quite different from many conventional whey proteins, which are often heavily sweetened or use artificial flavouring. We use real food ingredients and avoid artificial sweeteners, the taste is more subtle and less sweet, which we appreciate can take some getting used to.

We also do hear and understand your point about not wanting to add extra ingredients just to make a protein shake enjoyable. While some customers love blending our powders into smoothies, oats, or recipes for versatility, we appreciate that the flavour might not be for everyone.
