Do not buy a County Windows (Apple) conservatory!

DO NOT BUY A COUNTY WINDOWS CONSERVATORY!
Apple provided a conservatory in September 2018 after a very long wait, then went bust. However, it has been very badly built and designed - every wall is at least 25mm out and the bi-fold doors are so badly installed that they haven't been able to open since installation. An independent Surveyor has now inspected the structure and has found that the roof is not man enough nor is the steel goalpost (also 25mm out) and is pushing the walls out. I have personally had to fit brackets to hold the walls up. The conservatory is also the wrong colour - all of which County Windows (the new owners of Apple) have agreed with. However, County Windows are taking us to Court for non-payment! We have stipulated that County take the dangerous and faulty structure down and remove it entirely from our garden, which they are refusing to do. DO NOT BUY FROM COUNTY WINDOWS!

Avoid at all costs

Disgusting sales tactics when a salesman came to visit us to quote for a new front door. Old fashioned pressure sale with stupid phone calls to the “manager” to get the price down. I feel sorry for any elderly/vulnerable people who would easily fall for these bullying sale tactics. The salesman even got arsey telling us we couldn’t keep a scruffy bit of a4 paper with products specs as it was his only copy and they dont give them out. Still overpriced and just from the customer service, we will never use Apple home improvements for any of their services. Avoid.

I warn every potential customer off…

I warn every potential customer off using Apple, they are absolutely useless and have caused so much damage to my home.

There is still water leaking into my house and nothing is being done about it regardless of how many times I show them or speak to them to arrange it.

If you want to save yourself a lot of time and stress go with someone else.

The team arrived on time and where very polite I had Dan,Lewis and jim as the fitters they introduced themselves and explained the proceedure and order of work to be carried out, throughout the installation process I was informed of any snags that where encountered in a profesional manner and assured that they would rectify these as they carried out the installation. The team where very efficient and tidyed up as they went,Dan at the end of evry day walked me round and asked if everything was to my satisfaction.
I did a lot of reading reviews before selecting Apple and although their price is higher than other on the market I would cirtainly recommend and use Apple again.

Jamie and Danny installed an orangery roof for us - excellent workmanship, building a bespoke roof. Great personality and 'house trained'. All in all can not fault their workmanship. Worked through some difficult weather conditions. Highly recommend.

James and Danny installed my…

James and Danny installed my conservatory dome roof. They were good from the start. Very helpful, pleasant and efficient. They often worked in difficult conditions to get the job done. The plasterers were excellent too and there were no problems with the electricians either. I love the finished product. There was a big issue at the start from the management when no one arrived on the agreed day other than the electrician. I was contacted later by e-mail telling me it had been cancelled for a month. This person went on to try and justify it by saying he had tried to contact me but I had not answered the phone. He had not left a message on my landline, mobile or sent an e-mail, he had not sent a letter either. I was very annoyed at his use of the word 'unfortunately' instead of saying 'I am really sorry' i found myself arguing with him! Any way I complained up the ladder and James and Danny arrived two weeks later and then worked through their weekends to get it done.
I would suggest that the management in question should have some customer service training on communication and also quality, ie learning how to admit a fault and say sorry, and using complaints to improve.

Firstly I have to say that all the people who came to build the conservatory, including base work, electrics and plastering, were excellent. I can not fault their work.
This is not to say that there were no problems, there were, but they they were dealt with by the team very well; they were however badly let down by the "back office" people. The "Livin Room" elements were wrong size and had to be re-ordered. Unfortunately more than once; having been told they new pieces had been orders we found that they hadn't been, then when ordered property they went missing from the store room so had to be ordered again.
Once the right pieces were made available to the team all went well. Despite delays beyond the team's control effoywere successfully made to get plasterers in more quickly than the office team could, thanks to Gary (site manager).
There were some minor issues, but once the team were put in touch theses were resolved.
The problem? The office team had little idea of how to deal with customers once something went wrong. When things were going well they were in regular touch keeping us informed with the next steps, however once things went awry they went very quiet. They did not keep in touch, they didn't return calls nor did they answer emails. We found this behaviour extremely frustrating, and no doubt the team who were doing the work found them as frustrating.
So thanks to the team, James and Daniel who did a great job on the construction, apologies to the groundwork team I didn't make a note of your names, and Jake who did an excellent job with the electrics.
I can wholeheartedly recommend the team that come and do the work and would be happy to have them do work for me again. I can only hope that something can be done to help the office team improve and be up to the standard of the rest.

Conservatory Installation

We had Ashley and Shaun to replace our conservatory using the original brick base. They were not helped by the wet weather.Despite this they were very polite,co-operative and worked hard.We were very pleased with their efforts.
Administratively Apple could ensure a time saving by delivering the goods a couple of days before the installation start date thus allowing the installers to make an earlier start on the first day.
So far so good.Contract Y2188313.

2 years and counting having to deal…

2 years and counting having to deal with Apple Home Improvements. What was the point leaving me your email address and never respond to my enquiry, Andy Downs? Your colleague Martin Pike was quick trying to sell us another set of glass roof! Why do you think we want to pay again for missold product? Having said this, Mr Pike had put all the blame on Pilkingtons, where the glass was made, apparently. Glass by Pilkingtons, finance by Barclays, basically very clever move and no responsibility for anything.
You guys have no decency to respond to emails, letters, let alone to pick up a phone and simply apologise for inconvenience caused by hard sale.
Now, the situation has worsened!

Would not take no as an answer!!

Made me feel pressured into a making decision on arrival for the quotation. Stayed for hours and literally had to push the sales person out of my house as we wanted to get a few quotes not just go with them. What I was told was I was going to simply get a quote... took nearly 4 hours. They seem legit and good quality but the pressure is so off putting its unbelievable and the lady who phoned me about the appointment was so rude and abrupt.

Contract Number R2193929:

Very impressed with the work done for us by Kevin and Thomas in the replacement of 10 windows, and their manner and disposition during the job.

It was not always the most straightforward of jobs. The upstairs bay window, in particular, caused quite a few problems and took at least double the amount of time to replace as it should normally have done (not the fitters' fault). Also, a downstairs window, which, in theory, should have been the easiest to replace, was partly impeded by scaffolding (we have builders onsite), causing Kevin and Thomas to rethink the strategy for removal and replacement of this window.

Despite having to compete for space with the builders, rain at times and some icy cold wind, everything was done in good spirit and with a positive attitude. We were kept informed throughout of the progress being made and any problems found, which were overcome with determination and a commendable sense of attention to detail.

We are very pleased with the finished job. Many thanks to both Kevin and Thomas.
