Customer Service which went above and beyond

We were buying something for friends of ours who live abroad and to cut a very long story short our friends really left it too late in giving us details of what they wanted for us to place the order in time to receive it before we left to go away, but ArdenShield did everything they could to get the product to us in time and although it didn’t reach us, that was the fault of Royal Mail. On return from our trip abroad they were more than happy to accept this return. I have to say it was one of the easiest processes I have encountered with a business and in addition, even though this was not their fault, they paid for the return as well. Cannot recommend them enough.

Faulty Lock, no customer service

I bought the SwiftLock lock and after 6 months of regular use, the handle came off. The company said that it has nothing to do with them and that 14 has to be returned after 14 days of purchase for a refund. I said that, by law, I thought they were supposed to provide a guarantee and they said no, definitely not. I was unhappy with that but paid a locksmith to fix the handle.
Now, exactly 8 months after purchasing, the batteries are only lasting 1 day before I get a battery low message and the lock shutsdown. This happens no matter what brand of batteries I insert. The lock will now not work and Ardanshield customer support are refusing to even answer my messages.
I am very frustrated at this stage as the lock is completely untrustworthy and faulty.

Hi John,

Thank you for your feedback. We’re genuinely sorry to hear you’re unhappy with your experience, and we understand how frustrating it can be when a product doesn’t meet expectations.

We did respond to your initial enquiry and offered to assess the lock if it was returned to us for inspection. We simply explained that — based on the video provided — the damage appeared to be related to possible force or usage-related wear, rather than a manufacturing fault. This is in line with our obligations under UK consumer law.

As a UK-based company, we always stand behind our products and comply fully with the Consumer Rights Act. If a product is proven faulty within 6 months, and the fault is not due to misuse or external factors, we would always offer a repair, replacement, or refund. We’re more than happy to assist further if the product is returned for inspection as previously offered.

Regarding the battery issue: if you’re experiencing unusually fast drain across multiple brands, it’s possible the lock has a short circuit or internal fault. Again, we would need to inspect the unit to determine the cause. Please get in touch with us at info@ardanshield.com if you’re still open to working together on this.

We’re a small business that cares deeply about quality and customer service, and we do regret that this has left you disappointed.

Kind regards,
ArdanShield
