The worst supplier with little regards to product quality and customer service

We bought an Argent Australia supplied bath tub from Harvey Norman NSW. When it arrived, our bathroom installer found that the overflow part was not sitting properly in the tub. So we went back to Harvey Norman and informed them about the situation. We bought the instruction sheet, showed them the missing part and the problem. After H.N. contacted Argent, instead of sending us the right part, they insisted that they had to get their plumber to check out the problem. They even asked our installer to use screw to screw the overflow together when clearly the instruction said just screw without any additional part.

When the plumber came, he said the thread of the overflow screw was damaged. We told them that there was no force used while screwing the part. The reason why it is not screwing in was because 1. there was no more screw thread for it to continue to screw and tighten the overflow and 2. it was the wrong part. However the plumber insisted that it was our fault and decided to report back without really examine the overflow properly. When Argent decided that they were not going to send us another part, it was fortunate, that HN stepped in and convinced them to send a new kit. How do we know it was the wrong part... it was because the new part they sent was totally different. One it was so easily screwed and tightened as per instruction and the new parts they sent were different to the original kit. When the part arrived we opened up in front of the Harvey Norman representative and proved our point. The whole process took almost 3 weeks to resolve. Even Harvey Norman could not believe the approach Argent took.

This whole process could have resolve quickly if...

1. Argent should have checked the products and parts before it was shipped to client.
2. When the problem started, Argent should have taken more care and find out what parts we have...so that they can compare it.
3. When sending a plumber, the plumber should have a set of parts or instruction to compare with the original parts we have. Instead of take a few photos and concluded it was our fault, the plumber is be more trained about the product.
4. Stop blaming and solve the problem.

We do thank you for Harvey Norman for helping us and taking the extra mile. As for Argent Australia... get your product quality checked and try to remember who buys your product...we the consumer.
